2 major issues restricting the alpha of it's potential.

First off, before I get into my rant, I will say the core of the game is incredily fun, however a few bad development calls are restricting players from having fun in the alpha. Remember, no fun = players won't be testing the alpha. Now onto the rant. 2 huge issues come to mind, which really restrict players from having fun with the current model of the game. 1) Loot not respawning. I know this has been addressed, many times, but my biggest issue with this, is the implementation of the time penalty for changing servers (varying from a few seconds, up to 5 minutes depending how long you stayed in the current server). The time penalty was put in to try to counter combat loggers, however, you have to realize, more often than not, players were simply joining new servers to find loot, seeing as how loot isn't respawning unless a server restarts. Have you tried playing on a server where mostly everything has been looted already? It's dreadful. There is absolutely no reason why the time penalty for changing server was implemented without fixing loot respawning first. In fact, fixing loot respawn should be 1 of the top priorities to fix, and should have been already fixed. The whole point of an alpha is to get players testing the game out, you're going to have a real tough time keeping the interest of players in servers emptied of loot. 2) The only big issue I have with the game in it's current state, is where loot is located. Yes, I agree there are areas which should always have the best and "desired" loot, M4s, gun attachments, etc., such as military bases, airports, etc., strictly by the nature of those areas. However, there should be a sense of randomization of where loot spawns also. In the current state, even tho the game map is huge in proportion, very little of it is actually used by a vast majority of the player population. For the most part, players are simply rushing to areas and buildings which are known to have good loot, such as the already said military bases and airports, fire stations, "mansion" buildings, etc. The eastern coast is pale in comparison to the southern coast, making players typically suicide until they get a nice southern coast spawn, usually close to electro, and all this is due to the non-randomization of the loot. Regular houses in the cities and towns should have a chance to spawn mosins, ammo, and other desired loot. Should it be high spawn rate? Of course not, but it should be enough to make raiding smaller towns seem worth while, and actually looting every corridor of every building exciting and worth it. Make the entire map exciting to explore, not 2% of it. -
Currently, if a player dies, but decides to exit game, their body will vanish instantly, making it impossible to loot them. This needs to be changed, as looting other players is near impossible now as everyone is just exiting right away after dying. I'm not trying to promote more bandits or anything, but if some jerkwad if trying to kill me, and I outsmart him and kill him, you can bet I want to loot that person and take their stuff. Simple solution is to set dead corpses on a timer; for example, after a player dies, their body will remain on the ground for lets say 5 minutes, before vanishing, regardless if they leave the server or not.
