Saw this last night while in my Cherno nest. We thought gas station too, but there was at least 8 explosions. I thought it too many for a gas station but what the hell do I know.

dusty_nuttles replied to Jayissuperman's topic in General Discussion
30-35 in the country, 20-25 in the city. Bottom low is 15. Thats with the wiki settings. Thats with a shitty 512mb of vram. Processing and RAM are good though. 2.26x8/8g. -
No. Use dayzmap.com, master the map.

Running Dayz on Mac through BootCamp
dusty_nuttles replied to lightningcougar's topic in General Discussion
Simple install. Find Bootcamp, install it. Set it up how you like w/allocations, run it. It'll ask you to insert your windows disc, do that. Install windows, done. When you start you machine, hold down Option to choose between mac and windows drives. If any mac users need help or want to team up pm me your skype. -
Running Dayz on Mac through BootCamp
dusty_nuttles replied to lightningcougar's topic in General Discussion
I too am running WIN7 via Bootcamp. I have 8g RAM and only 512 VRAM. I altered my settings from the wiki gamepedia page and get 35 FPS outside of cities and 20-25 FPS in cities. Your set-up should run sweet. -
Stupid idea. Blood needs a fridge to be stored. There is no electricity on in DayZ, thus impossible. Go back to the mod with super unrealistic servers with self blood bags and 5 billion vehicles and custom donator loadouts. Actually, leave SA entirely---your the type of player nobody wants except 15 year-olds that think they are cleaning up with 5 dollar donations.

The game isn't messed up, your low patience threshold is. The sun rises in the east and sets in the west. Now you know where east and west are! If your near the coast you can use that too. Coast on the left---your running west, coast on the right---your running east. The coastline has unique landmarks and landscapes. Lighthouse on a small island...your near Electro. See a string of islands...thats Kamy. See big cranes? Only certain area's have them. Use dayzmap.com to find out what town your in as it has the in-game Russian names.

Don't think like its a video game, think like your really there but with a better field of view. Common sense and patience go a long way. A few examples... Never travel directly on a road. Run about 50 meters inside the nearest treeline for cover. Don't be like Andrea on Walking Dead. When you happen on a settlement; before you enter the area, look at the treeline for activity. If you want to be completely safe, sweep the outer perimeter before entering any settlement. Also, look at the doors...are they open or closed? If they are open, someone opened it and they might be in the area. Protip: Shut doors after looting a building to keep an element of surprise. If someone see's an door open, internal alarms go off. You want folks looting carefree, makeing all the noise in the world. Lack of zeds in a high profile area means they are dead, which means you aren't the first one through there. If someone has been through any area you have to think they might be there. High ground is always an advantage, use it when you can. Also, scan every building that has ladders or roof access. Bandits use high ground religiously. Keep an eye on 2nd and 3rd floor windows. Not sure if they are disappearing, but I'm seeing footprints on the road and not from wet feet. Something to consider.

A friend and I were running south towards Pavlovo on the road. Saw two players and cut left to avoid. They chase us a bit and fire a few shots. We keep running and when the coast is clear we log out, I had to take a leak and get a drink. I wouldn't call it combat logging as a few minutes went by after we were shot at and I'm sure we were in the clear. We log back in and we are both fresh spawns w/o our gear and on the coast. Different character model so we are dead. Is this intended or part an alpha bug?

Just now... Load up DayZ...character model is different so I figure all is lost. Log onto a server, bam---all my stuff is back!!!

Lost all gear from switching server?
dusty_nuttles replied to TopBadger's topic in General Discussion
Yup, all loot is gone. Deposit 25 cents. -
We turned around and drew our guns and waited, didn't see anybody, found better cover and logged. Thats not combat logging. Any further posts arguing this point will go w/o a reply.

It was around 10:30-11:00 last night so that could be it. Thanks for the detailed information. To those saying I combat logged...I played the mod, ran a server for 6 months and remember the timers for logging out which was 30 seconds. After the shots I ran for over 2 minutes [a lot of distance can be covered in 2 minutes...mod was 1000 meters every three minutes, can't test on this game as there aren't waypoints, but you cover ground way faster in SA than you did in the mod...no proof but it feels that way], we found some cover, stopped...turned around and drew our guns. Waited about about 30 seconds, didn't see anyone. Moved to a decently safe area and logged. Whoever said 5 minutes, come on man...the log out timers on the mod was 30 seconds. We logged back in on a different server and thats when I was fresh spawned w/o gear. I tried logging into another server because this has happened before. I logged in a server for the 1st play of the day and it said 'your dead'...changed servers and all my stuff was intact. Since then if something weird happens I'll just change servs and my gear is back. After this happened last night, we logged off for the night and figured we'll log back in tomorrow and see if that does anything. Haven't logged on yet today.

Look in those Station House buildings on the metal shelves. There is one right next to the grocery in Electro. They spawn there all the time. Look hard at corners too as they spawn in walls and the butt is only visible at times.

Third person view removal from SA discussion
dusty_nuttles replied to lev's topic in General Discussion
I really don't get the 1st person argument. It makes me sick. It doesn't make the game more real either. A lot more to complain about than 1st person. -
Why are we making it harder to be friendly??
dusty_nuttles replied to Lidskjalf's topic in General Discussion
Title says someting about harder to be friendly and then its a laundry lists of complaints. TFL for that. -

Fing a zed and let him attack you and the respawn option will become active. Probably wait till your down before it lights up. Confirmed working.

Ya'll are still digging in on this guy? -
I keep seeing posts here saying I got such-and-such FPS. Not a veteran pc gamer. Anyway, I would be interested in testing my FPS. Thanks for any suggestions.
