Exactly. The reason its the way it is, is because gamma/brightness can be adjusted to give an edge during night play. I like the nights dark. They start you off with a flashlight for crying out loud. Not like your not equipped for it. -

Two friends and I were in a red house by a well. One in each room and one watching the stairs. Enemy M4A1 starts going off, I'm hit, hallway friend is dead, other guy is hit. I try to bandage, dead. Nobody outside in the immediate area. No way into the house w/o being seen. One entrance that was being covered. Wasn't lag as the door never opened. Are there still invisible players running around? Also, can cheaters delete the buildings from the pbo's like they do the tree's and etc? Trying to figure out how they got us as we deduced there was more than one. We were all shot at the same time. No way one guy could do it. For funks sake, cheaters are reduced to invisibility hacks? Like esp, aimbot isn't enough. I know its alpha, but I thought the security was tight. All that jazz about beating hacks and we got evil Frodo tearing up the hot zones. I can deal with falling off buildings, crib death, flying out of buildings and all the other buggery going on with alpha. But invisible players? Dang.

I'm aware that bullets can go through walls. I'll try and take a cap of where my friend in the 2nd floor hallway was. I mean, its incased with wall and no windows where he was. If they wall glitched him I think they would need to shoot through two walls and some concrete to get him and he died on the 1st bullet. I took at least 2 and I was near a window. Perplexing. -

Learn the art of interrogation. There are passive and aggressive varieties. People slip up all the time, especially when their comfortable. If they say their new, but mysteriously know all the DayZ lingo, then they are probably being deceptive. Maybe they got a trap, maybe its time to counter trap. How dope is that? This is why DayZ is so attractive. RL stuff works here. Orlok's suggestion is good for survivals sake. But its not that fun and breeds complete distrust that runs deep and limits your skill potential. -

Because there is a limit of alive and dead bodies any server can handle before its bogged down to a crawl. According to Sarge and the opendayz community, the mod allowed 144. Once you got to 100 (I tested it) players couldn't do things like bandage themselves or pick gear up. I don't know what the parameters are for SA, but there is your answer. -

Not its not plenty and what would you know about it? Lets hear how new you are to DayZ. Ever play the mod? Run a server? I started on the mod late 2012 and ran two servers not long after. Learned how to script, storyline based server with plenty of mods (no self blood bag bullcrap, no 500+ vehicles, no lift, etc). I strictly used Sarge AI and initially had the despawn timer set to 5 minutes. Seasoned players killing Sarge AI in Cherno found it nearly impossible to get to the body safely in 5 minutes. I didn't have many AI in Cherno, but they never knew that as they were just being cautious. I'm not talking about 1-2 players, we were populated 25-30 every night and had dozens of complaints. I changed the timer to 15 (or was it 20?) and worked out peachy. Mind you, I'm talking about players in Cherno, killing AI in Cherno and 5 minutes not being enough. Based on that alone, how can anyone be expected to get to his gear in 10 minutes is ludicrous. Possibility of a restart was less as well as commonplace was 12 hours, not 4. If the debs don't want you getting to your gear, despawn should be immediate. If they want people having a chance to get to their gear they need to extend the timer if they want people playing the new areas of the map. The ramifications of a 10 minute despawn timer is never ending cluster funk on the coast. I could have sworn I read that debs want to get people all over the map and away from the coast. If you die anywhere in the NW you can kiss your gear goodbye. You need a perfect route on a flat land run, unmolested, to make that distance in 10 minutes. People are going to stay away from area's that can't make it back to in 10 minutes. Doesn't take a rocket science to figure that one out. -

Listen to this guy. I was fully kitted out, everything pristine, every stitch of top gear. On an AU server and shebazzle, your dead. Nobody killed me, nobody on the server and I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary. -

I disagree. I don't like instant gratification. I love the system as it is now, feels more real than eating a steak and being healed in 2 minutes. It makes me a better player and I have to play flawless. Zero mistakes. -
Yes. Log out, try a new server. If that doesn't work, restart your machine and relog. If that doesn't work, turn the game off, come back tomorrow and your gear will be there. Happens to me all the time. Best thing is to log out and let it rest. Sounds stupid, but it works.

Best place is those tents with no floor, just dirt. Hit NWAF or Bolota, preferably NWAF. I'm actually logged out at NWAF cuz my friend needs a long-range scope [i have one]. I'm sure we'll find one when we log in. Good luck! Oo yeah, just a reminder...if your using a M4A1, do not acquire an acog scope. It looks cool, but for some reason bullets go everywhere. I was slicing shots from 50 yards with that scope in pristine condition. -
Before I did the optimization on the wiki I was getting super low frames, didn't have fraps installed at that time so I can't give you a number. But it felt like 5-7fps, real low. So at that time when we were looting around he would say my character was invisible. I wasn't even moving and he couldn't see me. I thought about using this to my advantage, but ended up lowering my settings for better frames.

I have a potential fix and it works. Find a Mosin and get a long range scope. The scope comes zero'd at 200, bump that up to 300 and your shots will never hit the ground. -
I've been all over the map several x and noticed that the new additions have changed where people go as compared to the mod. My observations are based on high as well as low pop servers. The results are interesting. High Traffic: Bolota, Cherno. Low Traffic: Electro, Berezino, Kamenka Base, NWAF, NEAF, Stary, Novy. I have seen players in Electro but very few. I've seen maybe 2-3 people sofar. Berezino, maybe 2 or 3. Kamenka base, NWAF/NEAF, Stary/Novy...haven't seen a soul. Bolota/Cherno always have players it seems. Very strange to me that after being at NWAF about a dozen x I've yet to see anyone. Doors aren't even open there. In your experience, where are the highest traffic area's?

Excellent video! I saw a green 'healing' box for the first time last night and now have the green 'healthy' box for the first time as well. All due to your video. Thank you. Only problem I have is finding the video when I had it unbookmarked. Maybe something like 'DayZ Health System' would be easier to find. I have it bookmarked now, but tried finding the video to show a friend and had a difficult time. Just thinking about other players out there looking for a video like this, they might have a hard time as well. This video is a must have. But thanks again, looking forward to more video's if you have any more planned. I like the format. -
Its called a Stash and there were two varieties in the mod---medium and large. Hall said underground bases will come at the last leg of development. I'm sure there will be some storage before that time.

I saw an item once, junk type item on the bottom level. Haven't seen a stitch since. -
You don't need a syringe for blood testing. Just a blood testing kit will do. The syringes are probably for making cocktails with the brown vial which probably isn't implemented yet.
