This is exactly what Hall was worried about in an recent interview. Basically he said he's worried out what to add to the game (I think the reference in this case was beer or vodka) in fear of being demonized by the media.

That is an excellent idea. Suicide gets you the same spawn or even better the spawn with the longest run in the game. --- Ghua, Your actually making the trip longer by killing yourself. If you just ran from the spawn you can hit gear in 10-15 minutes. A run from Berezino to NWAF is exactly 20 minutes, I timed it. If you find a straighter line you can chop that to 15. NWAF you can scavenge unmolested on an unpopulated server and get fully kitted in one go. What happens is you run around looking for a place to kill yourself which takes time. Then by the time you get the spawn you want 5-15 minutes have already went by. Then add the run time from the new spawn and you just spent 20-30 minutes. If you just RAN you would have hit gear in less time. DayZ is not for everybody and doesn't look like it suits you well. Nobody wants players in the community that are too f@cking lazy to run 10 minutes to gear. If you want to spawn with everything try out COD/BF.

The goal is to survive. After that, its up to you like Zork Choose Your Own Adventure books from the day. Roleplay yourself or another persona. A lot to do there. Most games are linear, this isn't. No golden star or achievement's here.

He could have had massive desync. Happened to my group last night and we know it was desync as we saw it by hitting P. To fortify that, the guy that took our gear (bambi we met, we said we would help him gear up) said our bodies were completely still and crouched and he was able to loot everything they had (I wasn't desyncing) and returned our gear back. He didn't want to be labeled as a thief and I believe him. He also said he died for no reason (empty serv) and had the gear from when he died. I believe him as we had to meet him near a spawn which was far away and he didn't have enough time to get there w/o respawning. He could have teleport hacked, but why return the gear and make amends?

I read your other post about needing 5 shots with a revolver to kill someone. I think thats unique to your connection at the time as I only need one shot to kill. I have been on the bad end of desync or etc and its taken more shots. Lack of shotgun damage is probably related to connection stuffs.

According to an interview Hall did a while back, there will be no end-game. He also said the only thing that they've decided on was books/notes that will give a bit of story. They need to keep it open ended so when mod tools come out we can make our own stories up. I did this in the mod and it was awesome.

Yea, thats right----night servers. Getting sick of daylight and want to play nights (w/o gamma up, we got plenty of lights). 3 nights now its been the same: no night servers. Let me rephrase, no night servers that don't have 0-1 people on them. I even changed my prefs to search for night servers. I found some servers that say 24/7 night, logged in and they were day. I literally spent 45 minutes going from server to server looking for night time to no avail. Every single populated server is either is on day times or a 24/7 day server. Doesn't this go against everything DayZ is about? 24/7 day time servers? FFS man, I need some diversity. At least limit the 24/7 daylight servers to half or something.

Sounds like somebody is using their head for once! I love strategy. I would advise you to not take off the pack. 1. Server restarts are more frequent than ever. High possibility of you losing everything. 2. Desync is a bitch. You losing gear is compounded by this. Very risky as it comes out of nowhere. 3. Switch over to the Hunters Pack. I did and its worth losing the 5 slots. Very stealthy as well as stylish. Honestly, I found the extra 5 slots always containing food stuffs and non essentials. I really don't need the extra 5. As it is now, I have 3 medic cases, 3 protective cases (3 fits snug on each side of the pack), two canteens and something else that I can't recall atm. Look at it like this, food and stuff isn't that far away so you don't need to be chock full of food and drinks. Have just enough to keep you healthy. I have one protector case with 3 bags of rice and maybe a few cans of tune in other area's. Never have an issue. Good luck!

I've seen plenty of combat knifes before.

1. Afaik, green/black/camo are the colors. 2. Doubtful, but I do want a black backpack. 3. Afaik, just the Mosin. 4. Doubtful, although I do want to paint my fireman's axe black. In fact, I want all my gear to be black. I doubt they will allow face painting, especially with spray paint. I know plenty of military guys and one showed me a quick and easy way to make face paint. All you need is a lighter (matches will do) and a mirror. You put the flame to the mirror and it makes it black in that area. Swab with finger and apply liberally. Shit works, I've done it. I don't like the idea of putting a clan image on anything. Its too wonky and not realistic. What makes DayZ awesome is realism and to deviate from that takes away from what makes this "game" special.

I agree with most of that. I remember what that was like in the mod and its been a long time since I felt that loneliness and uncertainty. Just curious, what motivates you to play? Surely, you must know every stitch of Chernarus by now.

I'm probably your age and don't think you should buy this for your son. This is a game for a grown adult, not for a 14 year old. A good parent wouldn't buy this for his kid. Hope that helps your decision.

It didn't break the mod, but you probably didn't play that. Bro, if your having problems with bambi's combat logging its your own damn fault. Don't miss, play smarter, get better. You and your boys should have waited for the shot to be right and all fire on one target (or split the boys into groups of two w/each group firing on on separate targets) so the likelihood of missing shrinks. By the time they know what hit them your group will be on their secondary target. This can be done swiftly. We kill people all the time and if we miss, its our fault. If we miss and they combat log, its our fault. Actually, we have a no-miss policy because of combat loggers hypothetically relogging on our 6. If we miss, we deserve to die. This is called adapting to our environment. It might not be ideal, but it makes your and yours a better team in the long run. Don't hate the game, hate yourself. Missing targets at 300 meters in a group is unacceptable. Ya'll need to get back to the drawing board.

Polls are senseless here and I'll tell you why. Does the ability to see around cover affect you? The vast majority of the poll clams they play 3PP. Which solution would you prefer? The vast majority of the poll indicate scrapping 3PP. Obviously there is deception and dishonesty going on here. People that play 3PP don't want it scrapped ffs. Great idea, but man is corrupt and this poll is now void.

All that was on last night was day servers. The boys and I looked for 45 minutes for a night server. Even the 24/7 night time servers were day so.
