Morgan Freeman brings salvation to DayZ. [VIDEO]
Hero of Suburbia replied to vectorbunny's topic in Gallery
So refreshing. I honestly don't know how and or why any body would kill someone like that if they met them in game. I would honestly be enjoying my time so much I wouldn't even care if you turned on me. Fuck those Russian mobsters. -
Ok, so what I am about to say would never work until the loot farming stops. Hopefully I can break down my line of thought and go from there to how I think would be a really cool way to make the game more, well, hard. I would consider myself an average citizen. I have a hunting rifle (not a fucking aresenal of weapons like some americans) and for that rifle I have exactly 13 rounds. Five of these rounds are loaded and the other 7 are in the box. Now this is a leap but stay with me... If a zombie apocalypse were to break out, the first thing I would want to do regarding my weapon is get more ammo. Where do you buy ammo? The ammo store! Duh! Also Walmart, sporting stores, and shooting ranges. But, I most likely wouldn't go to the ammo store. Why? Because that's everyone's thought, and most likely the owners would defend that place till their death which would most likely occur because of zombies not other people. But why aren't these type of stores in the game? How come the only place I can go to find ammo is military outposts? And why are there so many military outposts anyway? The way I see it, if you find a firearm in a residential house you have a chance to find different amounts of ammunition along with the weapon. I also think there should be ammunition stores or sporting stores that have bounds of weapons ammunition and camping gear (hence the sporting store nature { at least in the states}) Now these stores would be largely contested by players, but also have an abnormally high zombie count because of the previous owners defense of the area. So essentially you could not just run into the store and grab the ammo and get out without 1 a decent amount of weapons/ammo 2 a intelligent plan 3 other survivors to help kill/distract zombies. In parralel with these new loot spawns I would also suggest that all the public hive servers are synched together to all "reset at the same time" and that they would reset every once in awhile, like maybe once every 5 days for example ( this could change depending on what ended up balancing well). So on the 4th day it would kind of be like the 4th year real time after an apocalypse. Everything would be rare. Then what would happen? 1. Food would be rare 2. Supplies would be rare. 3. Ammo would be rare. 4. Surviving would be difficult. 5. People would band together and/or punch some one to death for the beans/eat each other. Then eventually the servers would restart and it would play slightly different because some people would have survived and had camps in towns or what have you. What would also be interesting is eventually the ammo stores would be back in the hands of survivors on restarts. I think this could make for a really interesting more challenging experience along with what the devs currently have in mind. Anyway just a thought. Let me know what you think/improvements you have. <<<<<<<<TDLR>>>>>>>> 1. Implement ammo/sports stores. 2. Have those stores have higher amounts of zombies (because of above) 3. Spawn small amounts of ammo close to firearms. 4. Synchronize server restarts to all be the same on public hive. 5. Increase the amount of time that elapses between server restarts. The example I gave was 5 days. Hero of Suburbia

Easily exploited though. Friend removes gear from previous body. Gear up from where your friend dropped the gear too.

[Suggestion] A Harder Game
Hero of Suburbia replied to Hero of Suburbia's topic in General Discussion
Yes I love that idea. Make it very hard with the locks, but still possible with a friend, but almost suicide alone. I like when getting good loot is hard, that way it means something to you, and to not carelessly get killed by someone who would want to take it from you. -
Is there some place, some magical place (website, forum, etc. Etc. ) on the internet that I can go to read about news pertaining to dayz and intelligent suggestions in game development that does not entail, "Kos has to stop" "For the love of humanity implement a humanity system" "The zombies are broken" "This is about zombie survival not PvP" "My experience so far..." I feel like I have read that post about 10 hundred times now and its just not really entertaining anymore. Also I feel as though I have some generally interesting suggestions but odds are they have been suggested so.. If anyone can point me to the pretentious direction I would appreciate.

What frosti you mean you don't like having elf vision? I mean thought this was amer...a REALISTIC zombie survival simulator...

Any Idea on when the next patch is??
Hero of Suburbia replied to boudreaux's topic in General Discussion
I can't play the mod because of the arma 2 interface. Its just too much. As for now, I rarely get to play video games, so when I do play dayz I really enjoy it. Unfortunately most gamers put as little time in the game per patch as I do so they become bored easily after a short time. This is starting to include my group if friends which kind of sucks because I'm always down to play and they are already petering out. -
this is going to sound ignorant but...

I suppose you are right. I have made this long journey only to find that my own actions contribute to the problem that ails me. -
Most important bug for me, must have been fixed before they add more zeds/ walker
Hero of Suburbia replied to BlindOldMan's topic in General Discussion
Most people can't because at a certain point they experience pain which stops them. If you experience no pain, it's truely incredible the immense amount of strength humans can summon, albeit only once because things break/tear after such an effort. -
I believe it's entirely up to the players who are playing at the time. I for instance generally kill on sight. Now, that may be misleading because I rarely kill some one shortly after seeing them. I usually size them up, maybe talk to them if they look relatively harmless and rarely let them live, the letting them live is entirely circumstantial. For example the other night a group of my friends and I were engaged in a heavy firefight with another group over elektro. We had just taken control of the inner city but were taking shots from what we call lovers Lane which is the hill with the love bench to the north east of electro and almost directly east of the most northern fire station. I teamed up with my friend and the 2 of us were going to flank around the hill to the south east and come up the back side when we ran into a relatively freshly spawned person. He came over direct chat and seemed really friendly. In my book, too friendly. See we had guns and he didn't. Maybe he was going to try to get us to drop our guard and kill us when that happens? Perhaps he was part of the group we just killed and was going to try some old fashioned espionage? At the moment I couldn't tell, and if we was not part of the group the other group we were fighting would probably kill him on his journey through electro. So that was my thought process. It all ocurred in about 5 seconds. At this time my friend was talking with him, and seemed likely to let him go. I made the decision, under these conditions its not worth it. *crack* Went my mosin as he fell to the ground. My friend reluctant, but the mission continued and we were victorious.

We NEED some way to identify heros and bandits.
Hero of Suburbia replied to 1S1K-Airborne's topic in General Discussion
As long as I can wear the hero armband as a bandit to infiltrate their ranks and backstab them all.... -
people need to understand that DayZ is Zombie apocalypse GAME and not PVP deathmatch
Hero of Suburbia replied to gamer222's topic in General Discussion
Do you say lol after every sentence? The intelligence of this community is starting to become a concern of mine. A lot larger concern than KoS which PvP is a part of the fucking game. If you want a lvl 99 zombie survivor hero then stop playing dayz and go find another game. -

How I would Like To See Dayz Evolve In Story Format
Hero of Suburbia posted a topic in General Discussion
What I am about to write is what I dream dayz will become by the time it is released as a full game (maybe Rocket thinks the same but no matter). Confused, I awoke on the shoreline of an unfamiliar place. I tried to recall the recent events of my life but no clear thoughts came to fruition. I never had amnisia before, but I assume this is what it must feel like. Motivated by my growling stomach and the apparent signs of life I wondered down the coast to a small settlement. Being an American I could not make sense of the signs as they were written in a different language. However, the befuddlement was quickly replaced by an eerie feeling of loneliness. This was not the loneliness you feel over the weekend without any human contact but instead a feeling of truly being alone. I picked up my pace a bit and before I knew it I was standing in front of an unfamiliar house knocking on the door. Alas, no one seemed to be home so I headed down the road further into the village. As I approached what seemed to be the town square I still had not run into another soul. As the reality of the situation began to sink into my thick skull I was struck by a pungent smell of decomposing carcuses of magnitude I had never smelt before. Compelled by curiosity yet repulsed by the smell I cautiously ventured toward the direction of the smell. I thought of many things in my quest to find the origin of the stench but none of my thoughts were extreme enough to prepare me for the sight now ahead of me. Bodies on top of bodies of mutalated humans lay in front of me. My knees suddenly forgot their role, and gave way. My stomach felt queasy. I threw up, all over the place. As I sat there surrendered to the reaction of my body I noticed the floor was not the Grey color it should be as I commonly found concrete to be, instead it was a mute brown. I traced the color heading away from me and then ending suddenly. It was as if it was a small lake created by the uneven pavement of this foreign land. I turned my gaze back toward the pile of bodies and then it hit me. I'M LAYING IN THE DRIED BLOOD OF ALL OF THESE BODIES! Overcome by fear and confusion I stood up and ran. After a short while I became tired and noticed what looked like graffiti ahead. I closed in on the building and noticed it was in English! Finally some good news. When I was finally close enough to read it it said, "Beware of the Zombies" but the zombies was crossed out with a large red X and replaced by "bandits." My mind was floored with a million different thoughts expanding in infinite directions, I was brought back to the gravity of my current situation though by my lack of understanding of what a zombie is. Why was zombie crossed out and replaced with bandits? Are the bandits working with the zombies? Where are the police? Where is the army? Where is everyone? I caught myself uttering the last phrase aloud. What terrified me even more was the voice that answered back. I pivoted on the balls of my feet faster than I thought possible to see a woman behind me, pointing a gun at my chest. We both looked at each other for a brief moment before she cut in. "You are pretty stupid standing here in the open like that." I replied, "I'm sorry, what? Can you explain to me why your pointing that at me!? What's going on? Where is everyone?" "Slow down cowboy, this is not the place" she cut in. "If you want to live you best follow me, and not say another word until I tell you to or it might be your last." Confused, and afraid I followed her. Who is she I thought? How did she know I spoke English? Where is she taking me, and what does she seem so afraid of? Nevertheless I followed her up the road for about 20 minutes, then we veared off to the left into the woods. She pulled out a radio and said something in another language and then jerked my head by the hair forcing me to sit. She was back to pointing her weapon at me again. However, heading her last warning I dared not ask what the fuck was going on. 10 minutes or so it seemed had past before I heard the rumble of an engine coming down the road towards us. The vehicle stopped in front of us and a large white man jumped out of the drivers seat. The man and the women had a heated conversation in what sounded like Russian before he came up to me and smashed me in the face with the stock of his rifle. I woke up handcuffed to a pole in the middle of a tent. I could smell a fire burning outside accompanied by the sweet smell of meat. My salivary glands began to bleed the digestive juices into my mouth and I was once again reminded of the emptiness of my stomach. I was now starving. Just then the women entered the tent with a plate of food and water. "Are you with them?" "With who?" I responded, although my voice was weaker than I had predicted it would be, and it sounded more like a coarse simper than a reply. "Don't be stupid with me! I have no patience for such things. If you were worth the bullet I would have gladly taken the opportunity to waste your stupid ass in town. But I'm todays world I can't make such stupid decisions. The chief will most likely give you a trial tomorrow and we all would like to see you hanged for treason." "For what? What are you talking about? Treason!? I have done no such thing!" "Are you really..." "What? Am I what?" I desparetly replied. She didn't say anything for a moment. I could tell she was calculating her next sentence when a gunshot went off in the distance. And then another, followed by a barrage of bullets zipping there way through the cloth tent. Before I knew what was happening automatic gunfire was ringing off faster than the drum beat of a death mettle song. I felt like I was back on the Gaza strip during my time as a journalist. The lady looked at me, and then to her left before her legs gave out and she hit the floor. Her head fell towards me with a cavity right above her nose where the bullet struck her. I fought desperately to free myself but to no avail. I was trapped, and I could only wait it out, and hope the attacking forces would be kind to me. -

^lmfao.but seriously. Sounds cool. -
Correction hypovolemia instead of hypotensive. Hypotensive can be a sign of hypovolemia. My mistake.
-
Well, a saline bag (IRL) is used on critical patients who are hypotensive (their blood pressure is low and therefore their blood volume is low). We would insert an IV saline bag under such circumstances as the patient is likely to have lost a decent amount of blood. This is also known as decomoensated shock. So if your still with me, the saline bag will add volume back to the blood. Sure it does not contain hemoglobin, but it gives the rbcs (red blood cells) a medium to travel in, which is adequate to supply the body with nutrients and expel waste. A healthy person over time will excrete the excess water while replenishing blood. Hope that helps.

unless i am hunting, i play on low pop to "gear up"...
Hero of Suburbia replied to crazykage's topic in General Discussion
Cool story bro, killing players like you in "hunting" mode is why I have all the high tech shit I have. Mosin with scope/bipod/ 600 rounds of ammo. All by shooting a bandit in the face with my fire house all to common .357 -
How I would Like To See Dayz Evolve In Story Format
Hero of Suburbia replied to Hero of Suburbia's topic in General Discussion
Story ended up being longer than I intendedso I wasn't able to fitnin some other game aspects basically north of the coast where zombie hoards are all too familiar reality than the survivors would like. I'll probably edit later and finish it. -
Well if we are basing beta off of every other platform for beta than most of the game should be complete by the time beta roles out. I.e. the zombies/cars/base building/loot/ etc etc should be in the game at about 80-95% complete depending on the developer, and small tweaks are made to balance the game world, work out bugs/glitches that inherently brake the game, and finalize the game and polish the edges for final release. Honestly we should expect the finished game by the end of 2014 IMO.
