Me and my friend were climbing up the large building in Elektro near the hospital, where we spotted a guy on the top of the building, my friend goes up and takes a bullet, I go up when I think his back is turned and I take a bullet as well. After this however, I spawn near Elektro and proceed to move back to the building, trying a different tack this time, I go over Voice Chat and try talking to him. To my surprise; he responds and is more than happy to let me reclaim my stuff from my corpse, including my Enfield and bag full of medical supplies. Always initiate voice chat with someone, as shown here, as this guy was happy to let me grab some loot including a weapon after I had said that I was friendly over voice chat, even though I had taken a shot at him before. While not everyone is friendly, It can be beneficial if you are willing to just take a risk.

As in reference to the behaviour. Its not the usual "shoot-first loot behaviour", its literally killing yourself for the last hit on an already dead character. What else would you call it other than that.
-
You are missing the point, I dont mind that I died. Thats a fundamental part of dayz. Its not my fault if you can't comprehend what iam asking.

Nope, Before i've been more heavily armed than survivors ive met or they've simply been unaware of me. I've let them go on by and they've been none the wiser. I only fire if im under direct threat.
-
It isnt my issue, I was simply wondering why someone would die to kill an already dieing survivor, as i'm a "live-and-let-live" kind of guy.

Thank you TheBogs, for the only act of decency ive seen in this game. I'm fresh of the beach in Electro and another survivor approaches me, armed with a sniper and revolver. Im just hoping to hell he doesnt kill me and instead, he says "come with me" and hands me an axe. After 5mins of walking I arrive at the docks and there is a small boat (not the large fishing boat) and he tells me that it is half-full and promptly leaves. Thank you.

What is your Character's D&D alignment?

True Neutral: I try to avoid other players at all opportunities to prevent any possible violence, if I hear a fight, ill dwell on the outskirts and observe for any loot that I can scavenge safetly, but otherwise; ill only fire upon others in self-defence or in extreme circumstances. -
Something of the sort happened to me as well; closed a door shortly after spawning on the beach, and, Boom! Both legs broken and im under 6k blood

It is alpha, but a fire does attract zombies and any hit from a zombie when you're around 9-8k under has a chance of knocking you out. It was more misfortune than broken mechanics

I was wandering through electro when me and my friend were attacked by two other players. My friend was mowed down by gunfire inside the supermarket and I escaped. This was fine as we were both armed with axes, we were a legitimate threat. However, after this event, I was attacked by two zombies and my legs were broken. I was crawling with a flashlight towards the bandits, saying over chat that I was injured and that I had a hatchet but was approaching with a flashlight. One of the bandits ran out of the supermarket and pulled about 8 zombies, he sat down, ignored the zombies, and shot me again. But with my last blood drop I saw him pulled down by the zombies and killed. A man had literally sacrificed himself to kill an unarmed, critically injured target. Why? I was no threat. They could have simply ignored me as they clearly saw where I was and was announcing it. Im not moaning, these random encounters make Dayz what it is, but I want to know why someone would do this.

I was walking through the forest near Prigorodky, when I saw two people moving through the forest from Prigorodky with a zombie behind them. I could see that they were both armed, 2 AK-47's. I was armed with a winchester that I had found in a residential area on my way out of Chernogorsk. I was terrified as they were better-armed, but they hadn't seen me yet. I immediately zoomed in and took a couple of shots at one of them, he died. The other turned around and aimed at me, firing one shot, I shot him in the shoulder and he dropped. I looted the dead one, but the other had managed to crawl away and I didnt want to follow him. I picked up food and one of the AK's and was on my way. I do feel slightly guilty for that as I dislike murdering other survivors, but It was my first direct encounter with gun-wielding survivors and I panicked. Apologies to poor Simon, who was the only casualty of the fight, and the other guy, who I didnt see the name of, as he probably bled out shortly after I left the area. What was your guys first kill and do you feel guilty for the other survivors?

For me it wont even get that far. It just kicks me back to the main menu. I cant join any servers.

What if I have a retail version of combined operations? I have this problem as well, and it kicks me back to the main menu upon joining
