So, if a new squad of 5 decides to join your server, each of them have a safe. They decide to keep one, and sell the other 4. They automatically have 4 briefcases. The only way around this would be to lower the sell price of safes.

Haha, it happens, you can't be expected to remember every aspect of the game. But for future reference, turn auto-hover on while taking off :)

Currently, no. But we aren't a clan or anything like that. We all met in-game while playing DayZ, and that's typically how we get new members in our group. We used to have about an 8 person squad, but it was way too chaotic. We found that it is best to play with 3-4 people, and we've all been playing with each other for about a year now. That being said, if you happened to be on the server at the same time as us, we could always pick you up, you can tag along for the day, and we can go from there.
