Please, PLEASE, look into a Commorose system for gestures. It will be so easy to use if implemented and gesturing will happen less awkwardly with F keys. -
Fall damage is now off meaning snipers can now freely jump down from a building
Sidewinder24 replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
Snipers on roofs isn't really that big of a deal. I think it is funny watching all the casuals screaming at me to kill them so they can have a "better" spawn now that they can't kill themselves. I just laugh at them and encourage them to actually play the game. -
Why we need to remove the cheaty zoom from Hardcore
Sidewinder24 replied to autoloon's topic in General Discussion
Another 3PP exploiter enthusiast not grasping that the "zoom" simulates human sight in an authentic way whilst 3PP view exploitation simulates nothing a human is capable of. -

There needs to be the options -I don't play alone but I don't play with a clan/friend I make new alliances in-game. -
How Many Of You Play In A Clan Or A Group
Sidewinder24 replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
I join a server and meet new people every time I play. I use in-game VoiP and have memorable experiences every time. I can see how playing with a group via TS can be fun especially if you've played with those same people that way in games like Battlefield but for me it's all about the survival experience. Just yesterday I spawned in Kamyshovo and instead of making the mad rush into Elektro I decided to run the road to Solnichniy. I ended up meeting 5 other survivors. One had a pistol and hunter backpack but the other 4 were new spawns. Again instead of defaulting to Elektro we made our way to the newly made city, stopping at the shipwreck on the way. We came across a guy at the bow of the ship, asked if he was friendly but no answer. We asked if he had a mic but no answer. We asked him to type into proxy chat but he didn't. After about 5 minutes (way too long) I smashed my axe into his face a few times, took his canvas pants, and we made our way down the ship. At the bottom there were two armed guys saying that we killed his friend. They then opened fire on the group killing one of us that I saw before I went down unconscious. There was still gun fire for about a minute I remember hearing fn45 pistol shots among them. It ended and I heard the guy with the pistol say "they're dead, I'm going to revive you." I came back from the brink with my newfound friend's epi and saw that only two of our group had died. It was obvious the guy we killed atop the ship was communicating with his clan/friends to probably ambush us and told them via TS that he had died and we were coming down the ship. Anyway, we adventured together for about an hour more before I had to stop playing. I'll probably never see them again and that's fucking fine. Just another opportunity to meet new people. Long story short, finding strangers to play with is more rewarding for me than having a go to clan group. -

Commo rose for gestures in the future. Think about it...now do it! -
I think people just need to realize that when Dean promised us the "anti-game" where authenticity was paramount, mechanics were intended to be inaccessible, and it wasn't made with everyone in mind, he, whether he knew it at the time or not, was lying through his teeth. The truth is, once the casual masses got their hands on it and started throwing money at Dean, they made it their own game with Teamspeak, loot maps, 3PP view exploitation, gamma adjustments to circumvent darkness, and Dean didn't give a fuck after that. For those poor souls that still believe DayZ to be a hardcore survival game, I just feel sad for you. Moving forward based on the team's attitude toward design, things will gradually get easier and easier. You'll see your location on a virtual in-game map, you'll start spawning with your friends, PvE-only servers will start cropping up and Dean with call them "Normal" servers. A year from now when people make a thread here on the forums complaining about how it's dumb that everyone spawns with an M4 and 200 rounds of ammo, there will be an uproar about how you're trying to dictate how someone else enjoys playing the game. They'll threaten, in the off chance that starting M4's are removed, the majority of the playerbase will stop playing. Not conforming to the casual movement is losing battle. If you're looking for that unforgiving, one-of-a-kind experience that was described a year ago, it's time to move on because DayZ isn't going to be that game.

Well anyone can use a wallhack. It's available for anyone to put in the game so it is fair to everyone.

Military Zombies, Military Loot in Houses?
Sidewinder24 replied to Sidewinder24's topic in General Discussion
My bad guys. I know I've found m4's in very specific places like firehouses and schools but I've never found anything in a random town house. I must just not have enough playtime to have experienced it. -
So I'm looking for some feedback on the idea of a VERY small chance of military grade loot spawning ANYWHERE. Part of the reasoning behind why this would be plausible is the new military zombies included in the latest patch. Right now I've encountered those types of zombies in residential areas which would beg the question, where did their equipment end up? To me the idea of having something like an m4 spawn in a small village house isn't an unreasonable expectation given a zombie apocalypse. There'd be chaos everywhere and the military might be deployed all over the affected areas. After they become overrun, smaller squads might branch out and await further orders from headquarters. They're eventually overrun themselves and BAM! M4 in Gorka. Again, I'm talking about a very small chance but something like this seems like it would encourage people to explore a bit more. The idea that you may just find a decent gun without having to team deathmatch at an airfield or military barracks would create incentive to explore. Your thoughts?

Wow. Okay buddy. Whatever you say. I never said I want to remove 3PP and have zero understanding about why you brought up all that other shit. Good luck in life. -

I don't know if it is English being your second language or what, but I have no fucking clue what you're going on about here or how it pertains to being able to look over and around 10 foot walls. -

What you just described there could easily be applied to 3PP enabled servers. As it is I can't join a 3PP server without other players having an "unassailable advantage" in terms of "super-human capabilities." I wouldn't mind playing in 3PP but unfortunately joining a server where that is possible puts me at an immediate, unavoidable disadvantage. Fix the exploitative nature of 3PP for both 1PP and 3PP enthusiasts. -

I have always contended that you don't have to remove 3PP entirely. There is a difference between 3PP players and 3PP exploiters. They need to fix the exploit. So it sounds like you agree. Your position right now sounds akin to the Catholic church covering up and protecting abusive priests. You state that you also think it is a problem but fight tooth and nail to protect the people that give 3PP a bad name. Why not work with us to change it instead of against? Asking people to not exploit isn't really the same as telling them how they should play. By that logic you would have a problem with people who badmouth hackers and tell them not to hack. Going by your theme that's one person's playstyle (not hacking) telling another person's playstyle (hacking) to stop. -

If you could show that my beard was exploitative and a detriment to other people, I could be persuaded. This type of reasoning and logic flies in the face of 3PP exploiters who scoff at incontrovertible facts, playing it off as, "Don't tell me what to do, la la la, not listening! Not listening!"
