No Corporate suit is going to want to be associated with a lot of the crap that goes on in this game. Hell, I don't want to be associated with some of those types!

They are Brand Name foods. Corporate interests don't see 'free advertising', they only see 'lost revenue'. TBH I'd prefer BI and the dev team to use the money for the benefit of the game, rather than the opportunity to have a brand in game.

Not sure if it would help the desync, and can't see how that would even work, but for ArmA II / III you can open ports: If if server you are connecting to uses "defaut" ports - its 2302, 2304 and 2305. If server uses some other ports, eg. its marked "our gameserver is 195.168.47.98:2500" You calculate the other ports by adding +2 and +3 (so 2 other ports to be opened are 2502 and 2503). For Arma2 ports are 2302, 2303 and 2305.(use +1 and +3 respectively) Just open the range 2302-2305 if default ports. Don't forget about port forwarding too, if needed. But I doubt this is going to do anything to 'fix' the problem. You usually only need to worry about this if you are hosting a server, which no one is ATM.

For the mouse, I get that sometimes with Alt+Tabbing to my other screen. I can fix it by Alt-Tabbing out again, and clicking both mouuse buttons in turn (i.e. not at the same time) and then Alt+Tabbing back to DayZ and doing the same. Seems the pointer gets confused as to what mode it should be in. Might help too, if you have a small program running in the background to Alt+Tab to. I've found the windows calculator is handy for that sort of thing. Just click into its window to make sure focus changes away from DayZ. For the respawn, It's a known bug. Only way I've found to fix that is to log out of the server and log back in. Either way, you'll be packing for the coast with jeans and tee shirt. Hope this helps. PS: You haven't wasted your $30. Even in its current Alpha state, I've more than got my moneys worth out of it.

Yes you can. You can put a Med kit inside a case inside a backpack (small) inside a backpack (large) and you get to use all those extra slots for holding all your inventory goodness. As an added side effect, it turns everyone else's FPS to shit! So it's gotta be good, no?

I don't think it's an 'exploit' in an illigitimate sense. There is a glitch on reloading a character that means you can't load up with something in your hands, so instead of throwing the item away it glitches into your inventory. Would be good to get a definitive answer, though, from the devs as to whether this is going to be a feature or changed to diallow having something in your hands on character save.

There's your problem, right there. Should have stopped there and reread it a few hundred times, and eventually you'd get it! Now go back to Steam's DayZ store page and read the big note at the top. But you can do that already, with the built in OP protection that if you change gun mid-fight the other one goes to the ground. You got to remember to pick that back up before you move! Has the advantage that it's quick, and doesn't require any inventory screen BS to do it as I'd expect with a bag or backpack. EDIT: I do know about the current bug WRT two primaries and the slight glitch on DBase save/load of a character. But I'll assume that that will be rectified in due course.

These would be a problem to get past some country's media prohibitions. Smoking, drinking and drug taking, even with the context of a game in a virtual world, would see the game getting an outright ban in some countries. Remember, shooting someone in the head = R15, doing it with your shirt off = R18+. Don't even think about it with no pants!

Welcome. As already stated, Zs are already there, just not in quantity, and quality is sadly lacking also. I wouldn't start playing now if your only intent is gearing up. This is only the Alpha, and I'd be assuming that bugs aside, we're probably going to be in for a few Hive/DBase wipes as we transition up through the Beta and to Release. But don't let that stop you jumping in. It's not going to be any cheaper than it is now until a good while after release, and the game is still a blast even with all of the current issues. So: Get It! Play It! Enjoy the ride.

I like it the way it is. If I want to be a Medic, I just play a Medic. I go out into the world and gather up the required items that are necessary and then post out my shingle that says 'Medic'. I don't need anything in-game arbitrarily limiting me to only being able to apply a bandage until I get 4th Dan Black Belt Medical-Foo. Besides, the fact I am a 4th Dan Black Belt Medical-Foo Medic is not going to count for a hill of beans to the KoS-kiddy who can 1 hit kill me with his Level 0 gun and arsehat of fleetness. He sure as hell doesn't care that I've spent 20 hours on this character and helped millions survive for another day. So sorry, nothing in this proposal is going to make MY character any more valuable to any player for whom my character isn't already valuable. Private Hive/DB, Private Server, Private Community - Then we can utilise a system like this in an enviroment where the game can be the main driving force and not simply a kill count PvP deathmatch, as it is at the moment (with a few minor exceptions).

If you don't have any saline or blood to bring up your blood levels, then you're in for a long wait, and your friends are going to have to be feeding and watering you for a fair while. Saline will get you on your feet almost straight away, and blood may do but has side effect if you don't know what you're doing. Other than that, you're screwed. Have your friends have a little memorial service and then send you packing for the coast, Honestly, it takes less time! NOTE: Sometimes even after saline, you aren't able to stand up or move. A simple relog seems to fix that problem, though.

The reason is simple. An M4 on your shoulder frees up backpack space, and a large proportion of it to be sure. I'm all for you using up all that space, though, but if you put an M4 in there, I'd also like to insist that you can't have it on your hot bar and instantly have it in hand at the push of a button. Same with the gun bag idea, but I fail to see how a gun bag would be any less identifiable than a gun slung over your shoulder. You might not know if it's a Mosin or M4, but it's a gun!
