FIX the issues before adding more content!!!

Optimisation is the last thing that gets done in a development cycle. Server/Network optimisation will appear first, but client-side will not be done any time soon. -
Whats the Burlap Sack For ? Here is the Answer !

Another concession to the Arsehats. -
Your final point is valid but your pointing the finger at these 'friendly' servers is a straw man, you have constructed based on your own bias'. You don't need to resort to friendly servers to accomplish easy gearing up. Just choose any 2~3 low pop servers, especially if they've recently reset, 1PP night servers are great for this, and jump away. 10~15 minutes you're as close to fully geared as to make no difference. As long as you are allowed to 'farm' gear on one server for use on another you are going to get this problem, 'Friendly' or otherwise has absolutely nothing to do with the core problem here. As I doubt Rocket is going to move away from the concept of the Public Hive for all Public servers, you can expect this to continue for the forseeable future. So, while you believe friendly servers are pointless ATM, and for the record I think that as well, it does show the intent of the admin and community of that server to create a more casual enviroment for playing DayZ when that opportunity is available. All power to them, there is no right or wrong way to play DayZ. It will necessitate that they are on their own shard of the hive, and gear will not be transferable back and forth as it is mandated presently. You and I won't have to worry about them interferring with the way we want to play DayZ. Everyone is happy, except maybe the KoS-kiddies. Everyone is so uptight on these forums and calling out features of DayZ simply because they don't fit with their particular play style. 1PP/3PP, 24/7 Night/Day, Gamma & Brightness, etc., etc. They are all more concerned about the way other people want to play the game rather than seeing the bigger picture. I would much prefer for DayZ to deliver on a open and robust framework that allows every possible play style that can be restricted down by a server admin to reflect the needs and wants of a particular community, rather than have arbitrary limitations imposed by the engine to satisfy the whims of a particularly vocal minority within the wider DayZ community. Yes it might fracture the player base a little, but there are currently 1.1 million of us players already in here. We aren't going to be all on the same servers anyway. We're already fractured on solely geographical bounderies and server locations (ping). The Hive makes us think we are all capable of playing together on the same field with an enforced equality, but the reality is that the hive itself is open to abuse, and the player base has shown itself more than willing to embrace that abuse and exploit it for all that it's worth. TL:DR 'Friendly' servers: pointless, but not the problem. The Hive is the problem, and one that isn't likely to go away. There's more than enough room for them to have their server ATM, even though they can't enforce anything. Leave them to it. So decide for yourself if you are petty enough to simply want to piss on the 'Friendly' parade, or just get on and play DayZ the way you want on the other servers. I would like to think that the DayZ community has evolved enough to allow for that, but after way to much experience with the Mod and a growing acquaintance wth the SA, I'm packing a raincoat. And I'll be lending my voice to any call that is asking for Private Servers/Private Hives sooner rather than later!

i think object detail and alpha to detail should be removed from graphic setting menu

Don't kid yourself, son. Rocket is a New Zealander. I'm a New Zealander. The line starts behind me! -
I was going to reply to this thread, but the thread is pointless and after reading the responses already posted by others and not actually having anything to add to the discussion, I decided not to.

So the hackers just target the skill tree and hack that. Cost doesn't change the hacking any. Free games are hacked just as much as top-shelf titles. Next!
-
Fair enough. Then I'd look at the fact you're running on a laptop with a mobile processor and a mobile graphics GPU. The 2 GHz CPU is going to be a major bottleneck with DayZ performance and the 525m GPU spends most of its time trading down performance for lower power consumption. If there is a low to mid-range desktop in your future, you'll be a lot happier in DayZ. A nice cheap 4 GHz CPU and a 5 or 6 series nVidia GPU will at least get you in the game with around the same FPS as most people here.

Cherno has been quiet the past couple days.

99% of players congregate at Balota, the two military camps, NWAF and NEAF. That's it. Not that I'm complaining, as that leaves the rest of the map for the real DayZ players. -
So I just saw a server named "Friendly! No KOS! 24/7 day! 3PP: ON!"
djporternz replied to NagsterTheGangster's topic in General Discussion
I never said or implied that you were bitching about this. But this opening statement shows a clear intent to post something just for the reaction that you already think will result from that post. That is the definition of trolling. The forums have now chiiirped on this, so: Very good. Well done. You're a really hard man. Now crawl back in your hole and die, please. -

djporternz replied to NagsterTheGangster's topic in General Discussion
The only valid piece of info there is the 3PP:ON. The admin knows he can't enforce those rules, we know he can't enforce those rules, so your only point of posting is to troll. Very good. Well done. You're a really hard man. Now crawl back in your hole and die, please. -

There's your problem, right there! We don't believe in God any more! Plus we're too busy chasing the server hopping whores up at NWAF. -
No. I'm a supporter of PvE, but there still has to be something that stops people doing bone-head stuff. This is not comparable to the 1PP/3PP debate. This changes the fundamental premise of DayZ: SURVIVE!
-
Hmm.... I want to see the video where he even thinks about touching the brakes!
-
Sorry, that was deemed unPC and discriminatory against all the people who won't or couldn't buy the game. You are also not allowed to feel smug or even support a faint air of superiority over your ownership of the game.
-
Yes! Yes! And you need magic beans and more guns and zero-point energy devices and more guns and chemelion suits and more bigger guns and hairstyles and more guns and nukes and.... And you need them all at start in you inventory when you spawn in the control tower of NWAF.
-
And their fielders keep crowding the plates. But with bases loaded and bottom of the 9th, I'd rather have the bat than the ball.
-
Then go play The Walking Dead! Simple! This is DayZ not some US pop culture TV program, and loot of the type you describe is not meant to be found everywhere you look. DayZ at the time you spawn is a world depleted of everything: food, drink, medicines, firearms, ammo and people. It should have nothing to do with efficiency how ever you're meaning that in the OP. Survival in DayZ is not meant to be GUARANTEED. You are meant to be spending ALL your time just trying to stay alive.

To read/watch guides or not to and learn 1st hand?
djporternz replied to -MadTommy's topic in New Player Discussion
If you're coming from the Mod, bone up on ther thirst/hunger/sickness stuff here: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/159251-merinos-in-depth-video-guides-updated-jan-15th-understanding-sicknesses-and-surviving-poisoning/. Everything else is close enough to the Mod to make no difference. If not coming from the Mod, see the above threads and go look at the http://dayzdb.com/map and get your bearings. Or if you like the 'fog of war' type approach, get a copy of this one: http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3745/12024194454_3d7beca0b1_o.jpg. (It's a big image 180+ MB, not created by me. I couldn't find the original posters link, but have it mirrored). No labels or loot spawn info. Just the map and building locations. Either way, just get in game and play! -
Currently they will be visible a long way out from where they are placed, but they don't illuminate the surrounding area.
-
TBH, if you are able to get anywhere close to 25~30 FPS in town, then you're doing it right. The RV engine isn't known for delivering massive frame rates. Also, if you're thinking DayZ is going to be a FPS shooter, you WILL be disappointed. That style of game/engine is done far better elsewhere.
-
You're doing it wrong! You need to get a 60-round mag and start stacking ammo in 60-round stacks.
-
Yet another PvP Bandit Guide. 3/10.
-
I'm not going to say those things, since you've already said them. But that doesn't change the fact that they are all true. TBH, a few minutes with the search function and you could have found multiple threads already discussing these topics. If you were intent on adding something innovative to those discussions, that would have been the appropriate places to put them.
-
And then they come to the forums or watch a few YT vids and then say 'Fuck no!'.
