Can't load the Mosin, can only chamber one round.
djporternz replied to Dayjizzle's topic in Troubleshooting
Don't spraypaint your Mosin. EVER! This is the correct punishment for such a travisty! The rest of you have been warned! -
Probably upcoming items that aren't completely set up ATM. Prediction: Berets in next patch!

I'm resorting to quoting myself... God help me!

Terrible resets (including reset with gear)
djporternz replied to azianice's topic in Troubleshooting
Alpha. Patch. Bugs... Ahhhh.... Why do I bother? -
But these are the forums and bugs should be reported in the feedback tracker, not here. The error is probably caused by incomplete content included in the last patch. I for one, have never encountered a beret in game. ATM all you can do is push okay and wait for the next patch.
-
Go to DayZ -> Properties -> Local Files tab. Verify Integrity of Game Cache is the last button. If that doesn't fix the problem, go to your Documents folder and delete the folders 'DayZ' and 'DayZ Other Profiles'. This will delete any settings and variables that may have become corrupted. You'll lose your graphics settings and have to reset them if you're using anything other than the defaults, but all other info will be reconstructed from the hive when you reconnect.

New Patch - Crashing, Extreme Desync, Beret Errors
djporternz replied to Andarne (DayZ)'s topic in Troubleshooting
Only seeing the 'Beret' error, here. I'm assuming that that may be related to incomplete content in-game as I don't think there is a beret in game ATM (at least I've never seen one pre or post-patch). -
1) VAC doesn't make mistakes, ever! 2) Anyway, VAC bans would have to be addressed by Steam/VAC. No one here is/will be able to help you. 3) Good Luck, but see 1) above! PS: If this was caused by a bug in the Alpha, you wouldn't need to come to these forums to hear the screams from the player base.
-
Report the server. This is explicitly NOT allowed under the current server rules.
-
Right off the bat, with your chosen title for your post you come screaming in here with 'shit' references to the game. Not only that but the chosen wording is a demand that they IMMEDIATELY (implied) patch all of the bugs or revert it back to the previous patch. The first IS going to happen, but not immediately. The second will not. These are known bugs. A few minutes in these forums or in the feedback tracker would have found multiple posts and issues that you could have constructively added to and voted on. Vehicles are going to be added in due course, and while not specifically listed in the 'confirmed' post, they haven't exactly kept it a secret. Running is what DayZ entails ATM. You want to get somewhere, run. You could walk, of course. That's the way it is. And as our good Mod Inception has stated, even when we get vehicles included in-game, chances are we still personally won't have one. So more running. I could give you the benefit of the doubt, and just write off your OP as a 'rage troll', and simply ignore it and substituting your other post. I'll also ignore the first part above, because there is nothing there worth getting into. I will reply to this part, as it appears that you've finally started thinking coherently again. So, yes it is a PITA that after the last patch character resets are now way too frequent. But the last patch changed a huge amount of the back-end processing and the hive in particular. They tested it a little on the experimental servers, and those servers were hammered remorselessly by the player base. Obviously it performed well enough to justify a roll-out to the general population. Some issues have become apparent. I don't think anybody thought it would be otherwise. They are doing a good job. I have nothing with which to gauge whether development is fast or slow, but it is progressing and the game is improving. There are new issues appearing during this process, but that is innevitable. That is why we are here to test these things. The fact that we are sometimes able to forget that and convince ourselves that we are playing the game is secondary.

I voted 'No' and 'None', simply because this is an unnecessary complication to DayZ. And don't apologize for your english. It's better than most english only people on these forums.

This is a game. The other player isn't dead until the game says he is dead. Wishing for them to be dead sooner doesn't make it so. Take this into account next time and spend a little less time sending lead his way and a little more getting behind hard cover.
-
Not quite true. Open the doors and move in real tight and check proximity. You may need to use crouch. Check each door and the boot. I've found maps, axes, food, soda and water. Also the occasional mosin. Not confirmed, but loot rate for cars may have taken a hit in the latest patch, similar to the general loot nerf.

I'm afraid you probably do. Sorry. {SNIP}There was an in-depth reply to yoNkz here, explaining everything related to game development and how things usually play out, and how it will probably play out in DayZ. But it had a few big words, some of which appeared in the disclaimers he obviously didn't read, so not much hope he'd read this either. So I deleted it!{/SNIP}

Unless you are jumping from Hardcore to Standard servers, then this is a bug.

+1. :beans:

You'd have to ask Rocket about the 1:1 Day/Night cycle. I'm not going to speculate why he did it that way. Food/Water isn't heavily compressed. It is just that you spawn in game almost dead from hunger and dehydration. Once you're back up to healthy status, you pretty much only need similar quantities of each as in RL. Not exactly correct, but close enough, and they could tweak it a little as we go forward. Of course, if you are sprinting around the map at 25 km/h constantly, you're going to need a lot more fuel in your system, so it can seem that you are eating more and drinking more than RL. But it works out pretty much right.
-
Wait. I'll get my time machine out of the shed, duck ahead a few years and get the release version, and come back and hand it to Rocket for you. Because you are that important! Or you could remember that this is an Alpha, and you are only here to test the game to make it better. Offer some constructive feedback in the appropriate places or STFU and wait with the other impatient %$#s who don't read disclaimers before spending mommys hard earned cash.

"Session lost" when going back to my previous dead body
djporternz replied to InvisiMan2013's topic in General Discussion
Might be a bug. If it was a server reset I'd expect the 'No message for...' in red. This dumped you back hard into the server browser. Might be worth checking if it's been reported in the feedback tracker. -
Why do I have my old character in some servers and a new one in others?
djporternz replied to marsmars's topic in General Discussion
Remember, 'Stable Branch' of the current Alpha may not actually be that stable. Everyone in the Alpha is actually here to test this stuff. They've just done some major reorganisation of the Hive with the Hardcore/Normal servers, I'd presume that there might be a few kinks to work out with that. -
Growing number of banning servers/private servers.
djporternz replied to chaossound's topic in Suggestions
Report them as you find them to their top tier provider and move on. See here: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/158966-dayz-standalone-server-hosting-rules-server-reporting/. Creating a forum thread would be irrelevant as these servers are shut down pretty quickly if they are enforcing these types of policies. It would only implicate false positive servers as all the providers are going to reuse the IPs. -
I think the replies to your question speak for themselves.
-
Speak for yourself. I'll take pure survival every time. And I'm not the only one.
-
I don't believe I even hinted at any sort of comparison between the two in my post.
