No it's not one of those 'Nighttime' threads.... When the last patch hit, I decided to reset the Video settings to default and redo my tweaks to get better FPS to see if there was any change. (If you're interested, my results don't show anything significant either way.) One thing I did notice was that nighttime on the default gamma/brightness seems to be an order of magnitude brighter. Is this just me, or have any of you noticed this? MOD: Sorry, this should properly be in General not New Player. Move when you can. Thanks.

Post-patch cars seem to be completely nerfed. Haven't found a single item in cars in Berez or Stary and Novi Sobor. I'll keep looking tho.

I'd assume not. Patches would be definate no. Modifications based on the .dll injectors will also be problematic. Both VAC and BE can (and should) detect these and you'd be saying goodbye to your game if not Steam account. Not an issue ATM as there is no DayZ patch/mod listed. Stay clear, is my advice.

Yes, what we need is a modular console where each major block - CPU / GPU / etc. - can be upgraded as technology advances... Wait! Wouldn't that just be a PC with graphics limited to 1080p. (Okay I'll let you expand to 4k, but that doesn't change much!). -

Shodowplay IFF nVidia and a 6xx or 7xx gen card. Bandicam if not or if you have a 4xx or 5xx gen nVidia card.

I'm sure you're trying to tell me something... give me a minute... I'm sure I'll figure it out. To OP: Do you have clouds turned off. I've found after the latest patch, with clouds on that night is more than playable at default gamma/brightness.

Ping setting is just for the filter. It doesn't change the server search tho, just the display part.

Do you think it might be a little 'social experiment' to see what happens if the current PvP gear up and deathmatch we had before the patch gets nerfed. If so, it is looking to shake up the whole game in a good way, IMHO. And judging from the outcry in the forums, it is definatly hitting a certain section of the PvP community hard. But it just as well might be a bug. -

It's not broken, but you're not going to like it. Also a lot of the military spawns have been moved by what I'm seeing. But I've found M4s, Mosin, Magnum, FNX and Shottys all around the map. If your game is just running to the bases and gearing up, then your game is nerfed. You're going to have to be all over the map to find your gear. You'd better get running... -
Welcome to an authentic DayZ. You have been doing what any survivor would do up until now. Head straight to the military bases and strip it of anything not nailed down. I'm surprised that the beds still have mattresses left on them. So, now we have the next phase. 'If not there, then where?' Of course, it could be just his way of giving the finger to the current crop of 'I can't be f'ked running...', spawn location whiners by removing the need to run anywhere... but he wouldn't be that petty, would he?

Patches happen when they happen. Regularity only helps WRT your bowel, and forcing the issue is always unplesant.

Simple answer: Not ATM. Implication aside, I think they are just testing functionality, but there has been no change to the server rules. So no password, no private servers and no private hives. We will have to wait a little longer for that functionality to be available. -
