Since there are no PRIVATE servers ATM, your point is moot. As to when we have truly private servers, I don't see this as being an issue.

Welcome to DayZ. There are NO PvE servers. Check the server hosting rules. Servers advertising themselves as such are in breach of their ToS IFF they were to try and enforce any of this sort of silliness!

Game will be completed Soon™. It will not be completed before that, and I'll give you a personal guarantee on that. It will also remain relevant until they start planning DayZ III, by which time it won't really matter. Glad to help.

Saline bag + IV Start Kit still take up two slots in inventory. Both are needed to use one. Yes, Saline is only half as effective as Blood Bags now, for the same inventory space. OFC, saline doesn't kill you if you don't match it right. -

DayZ US 0-3: [Regular] WARNING! The server has not been able to contact the central server to load a character... You will be respawned with a default character on login. Character isn't wiped from hive, unless connection is made while playing. Soda should be a 'dry' food? What planet are you on! Soda is sugar and WATER! If you want to bitch about it then why does it have ANY 'food' content. TBH, managing food and water in game was one of the simpler things for me to get my head around. If you take into consideration that you are almost dead when you spawn in at the coast, ofc you are going to die of thirst/starvation almost immediately! Realistic? Not likely, but then I'm running around a former soviet state after a Zombie apocalypse, ffs. Realism be damned. If it gets in the way of playing the game, then it needs to be out of the game. Emphasis on game. -
Yeah, it's a quick wee one, that! Had to reenter the server and video it to find out what it was saying. Everything made more sense after that.

What? You can't find the words to say 'Thanks, but no thanks' and move on? Oh, and by your reasoning anyone spawning in is only doing so because they are 'actively' seeking PvP. A little overly generalised, don't you think?

Will there be a reward system for characters that survive?

There is only one imperitive in DayZ: SURVIVE! It is written bold in blood and violence across everything you see in Chernarus! You aren't given a reason to continue to live, and you shouldn't need one. Survival is the only reason and the only reward necessary. 'I DID THIS!' and the memory of the same, should be enough for anyone. If you need validation from the game engine or from your peers, then this may not be the game for you. TBH, you're too focused on the gear. All well and good if that's what you're here for. Unfortunately, like too many other players, all you are seeing is the gear, and you're not actually seeing the game you are avoiding playing. I doubt you're actually seeing your character as distinct from the M4 they are carrying! TL;DR: Validation should be done by the player. Skill/Reward systems actively take away from the anti-game nature of DayZ. -
Change the 'WE' to 'I' and it is closer to the truth! You want islands, go create your 'DayZ' and see how far you get...

I like the idea of the ability to play musical instruments in-game, a la Lord of the Rings Online. I wouldn't like to see it tied to a skill based system, though. That wouldn't fit with the openness of DayZ. For those the see no use, this is no different to having guns in DayZ! I don't use them, so to me they are supperflous. Same as musical instruments would be to you. It would allow some interesting gameplay to emerge as people use or abuse the ability to make 'music'. I just want to be able to stand out in a field and play the bagpipes for my Z friends! -
Cut them some slack, please. THEY ARE FOCUSING ON THE IMPORTANT THINGS!! That these things aren't aligned with your narrow focus is completely irrelevant.

You're not doing anything wrong. The Experimental servers are supposed to be restarting every 4 hours, but I've never encountered one restarting at all. They must be, OFC, as I've logged in at times and found unlooted towns but can't attest to the regularity. -

You can do it that way if you want, and there may be some utility in doing that ATM with no loot respawns. Once we have loot respawning, there shouldn't really be any need to switch servers too often. They specifically tried a system similar to that on their internal server, and it failed based on their testing criteria. They implemented the best system they had which fixes all of the problems with minimal impact on legitimate players. Glad I can help. -

Unfortunately, yes. But the alternative is to do nothing about the rampant exploits that are being used by a sizible proportion of the player base. So we are just going to have to deal with the side effects as best we can.
