  1. and it holds 11 rounds of .357 So first: http://dayz.com/blog/status-report-week-of-11-august-14 Okay, so now that we party'd hard: the problem is: The .357-rounds fired from this lever-gun will (probably) have the same velocity as from the Revolver (which is 360), even though the barrel is easily 2-3x as long as the revolver's. Levergun has ~16-20 inches, whereas the Revolver has "only" 6. Here are some velocites: Mosin: 860 SKS/AKM/CZ527: 730 Ruger 22 Amphibia pistol: 380 M4/AK101: 884 And only 360m/s as a "rifle-velocity" seem to be rather weak, considering the fact, that "damage" in DayZ is made up by: 1, the bullet itself 2. and its velocity Same happened with the Shotgun and the shotgun-speedloaders(the velocity from the speedloaded shells was less than 50% of the speed from individual loaded shells ==> A speedloaded Shotgun did much less damage than a normally loaded shotty) So using this levergun on ranges above 100m could become a bit of a gamble, because of the very low velocity. Hell I really hope the DEVs will tweak this and find a solution :P However, this "criticism" is in advance without ever having played with that gun, soo... ;) I'll still try this gun out with the best of hopes :D
  2. Nono, the speedloader-bug was fixed like 3-4 months ago :D Spurs would be nice, too. Making noise with every step The gamefiles say, that the rifle shotos .357 ammo. and .357 has only 1 speed, which is 360. AFAIK, SKS, CZ527 and AKM have also the same damage (so the AKM is like an SKS in full-auto, with PSO and 75 rounds). the MP5-folder is the MP5K, somehow. in the Mp5K-folder are just files for a model, but no stats, etc.

    happened to me, too. I had a Cowboy-hat and was at full health (energized & healthy) Since that, I always wear a motorbike-helmet.

    ;) You tried to kill people, but the first one, for example, had a taloon-backpack and not the usual end-game-gear. Some of these encounters could have been really nice and turned out successful...

    Well, I also think a wooden buttstock should be as hard as a metal one. If a material would be "softer", than it would be plastic (but only,if it's hollow. A "full" plastic-cube is also hard as fuck). But I'm 100% for being able to melee with a weapon xD

    Bury your stuff

    this has been suggested many many times already ;) and a DEV(I think it was Dean. Not sure tho) somehow and somewhat confirmed, that this "could" be implemented, because buyring something would require an inventory, which can be used, after a certain animation/etc. is done. Burying somehing would create a small "dirt-hill", so the only new "thing", which needs to be made, is a new model + the animation. I would also like to add: Buried items would degenerate over time "fairly quickly". If you out these items in a bag, backpack or yellow container, they would take less damage, but degenerate, too (a Tent should always be the "best" option to save gear and protect it from taking damage, IMO)

    Being Able to Hold Three guns

    I think limitations make DayZ "special". With 3 weapons (2 on back, 1 in hands, OR only 2 on the back) you would be ready for everything. Like 1x Mosin and 1x AKM/AK101/M4. You would be fitted for CQC-long-range. But I think it makes DayZ unique in a certain way, when you have to think: "Either take the Mosin and stick to long-range, take the M4/Ak101/AKM and be kitted for CQC, but not very efficient on long-range". To be very honest and TL,DR: Having 3 guns would make this game more boring and linear. Having only 1 (or 2 with the disadvantage by dropping the weapon everytime you take samething in your hands) makes the game a bit uncomfortable and "entertaining" at the same time.

    Sorry, man ;) I must have missed the "respawn-option" in the second suggestion (neck down, etc.) I just wanted to emphasize, that "respawn" should be posible at any given time for players, who don't want to "play" this out.

    I personally would like this idea, if there would be the option to respawn at (nearly) any given time. Why? Well, DayZ is also played a lot by casual-gamers. And they want to experience "action", and don't want to lie on the ground, or just rob around and "beg" other players. I, personally, wouldn't like to experience all this stuff ;) (very exhausted is OK, but everything worse than that: ) If you give players the option to get off this "truck-to-hell", it would be good. The ones, who want to play the game very serious and accurate can go all through these states, but those, who want to focus on other things (gearing up, hunting, PVP-ing, building a base, etc.)

    Blaze and the Revolver should sound a lot different than they currently do. The Blaze more deeper. And the Revolver, well.. "better" ;) But as someone already said somewhere: Arma (and with it maybe Bohemia) is known for having "small" gun-sounds.

    Only, if rope-spawns are increased drastically :D Leather-strings should also work (gutting an animal, then cutting the deer-skin into small stripes)

    Yeah, custom flags are as dangerous as being able to spraypaint walls with what you like. Dickbutt-ing (and maybe racist insults, etc.) would get out of hand But I am all for simple coloured flags, maybe also with several stripes (both, vertical and horizontal), dots, circles, etc. And if you give people even a limited range of signes&colours, some will always find a way to do something funny ;) (So fully preventing dick-butting is not really possible, but limiting insults, etc. can be done)

    In-game Currency

    this reminds me of Mad Max. Oil and the refinery ;) and while it would be cool to have ammo as some sort of currency (like in MadMax, 3 shotgunshells are worth a LOT), I don't think it would make the game "better", if we would have to search for 1-2 bullets for ~1 hour (don't forget, we have many different ammo-types, too. Shotgun, 5.56, Mosin- and SKS-ammo, .357, .22, 9mm, 45-ACP, .308) Finding at least 6 bullets for the right weapon would take ages and wouldn't benefit the game in good way, IMO. However, ^this^could be done, if there's enough meta-game around" firearms&ammo, like craftable weapons, harvesting, hunting, building and to fortify a base.
  23. I bet you could also damage or ruin a gun with a Hammer/Boltcutter. (Sqeezing the barrel, for example). But now that I think about it: There are a lot other items, with which we could ruin firearms (Hacksaw, Fireaxe,...) Maybe it's not a great idea, maybe it's good, What do you think?
