How does it look?!!?!?!?!?!!
-
Nono, just knife+pelt, or machete+pelt. People said they made it with Deer-skin, but I think Cow-skin would work, too.
-
I think it's only drag Knife/Machete over Deer/Cow-pelt and then craft the leathersack. TBH, the leathersack has 20 slots. But according to the size of it, it should have at least 25, if not 30 slots. It looks like a mix out of the hunting- and mountain-backpack. (not my pic. this is from someone on reddit)

something like this is already somewhere in the gamefiles. Models of (small) snares were already leaked like 1-3 experimental patches ago. Probably for trapping rabbits, chickens, etc.

what, some infos are faster than me? impossibru!

Nope. They wanted to make items persistent on the stable with a hotfix, they said (but that was like almost 2 weeks ago xD) So as far as I know, there was no hotfix, and with no hotfix no persistent items.

patch 0.48 - lever action rifle in the gamefiles - velocity-problem
irishroy posted a topic in General Discussion
and it holds 11 rounds of .357 So first: http://dayz.com/blog/status-report-week-of-11-august-14 Okay, so now that we party'd hard: the problem is: The .357-rounds fired from this lever-gun will (probably) have the same velocity as from the Revolver (which is 360), even though the barrel is easily 2-3x as long as the revolver's. Levergun has ~16-20 inches, whereas the Revolver has "only" 6. Here are some velocites: Mosin: 860 SKS/AKM/CZ527: 730 Ruger 22 Amphibia pistol: 380 M4/AK101: 884 And only 360m/s as a "rifle-velocity" seem to be rather weak, considering the fact, that "damage" in DayZ is made up by: 1, the bullet itself 2. and its velocity Same happened with the Shotgun and the shotgun-speedloaders(the velocity from the speedloaded shells was less than 50% of the speed from individual loaded shells ==> A speedloaded Shotgun did much less damage than a normally loaded shotty) So using this levergun on ranges above 100m could become a bit of a gamble, because of the very low velocity. Hell I really hope the DEVs will tweak this and find a solution :P However, this "criticism" is in advance without ever having played with that gun, soo... ;) I'll still try this gun out with the best of hopes :D -
patch 0.48 - lever action rifle in the gamefiles - velocity-problem

Nono, the speedloader-bug was fixed like 3-4 months ago :D Spurs would be nice, too. Making noise with every step The gamefiles say, that the rifle shotos .357 ammo. and .357 has only 1 speed, which is 360. AFAIK, SKS, CZ527 and AKM have also the same damage (so the AKM is like an SKS in full-auto, with PSO and 75 rounds). the MP5-folder is the MP5K, somehow. in the Mp5K-folder are just files for a model, but no stats, etc. -
So you can surprise a "bandit", while he is looting a dead body, with an already made noose. like at 7:31 Of course, the use of a noose would be limited, since in Chernarus we don't have much "locations" to use a noose. but I think a tree or an arch would be the best to mount a noose on:
-
I know, but... but... I just can't stand buggy Zeds one-hitting me... But once persistent storage is there, I'll wear a cowboy-hat as often as I can ;)
-
but maybe you don't have enough storage for all the ammo? :D
-
with this, driving gloves
-
happened to me, too. I had a Cowboy-hat and was at full health (energized & healthy) Since that, I always wear a motorbike-helmet.

Yay, Ponchos! With Ponchos we need an animation like this: -
;) You tried to kill people, but the first one, for example, had a taloon-backpack and not the usual end-game-gear. Some of these encounters could have been really nice and turned out successful...

Any Irish Pc gamers out there, Need some Help!
irishroy replied to WashedUpPoet's topic in Technology/Programming
I don't think there's a big difference between 1 or 2 rigs of RAM. However, if you Mainboard has something like the "dual-channel"-technology, 2 rigs would be better. (so the system could work with 8GB, but "two entries" to the 8GB, which makes the system a bit faster, since the data is delivered to the RAM faster) But aside from that, I went with 2x 4GB rigs, because it was a sale and 2x 4GB were cheaper than 1x 8GB. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dual-channel_architecture#Dual-channel_architecture I have no opinion on 2nd-hand-parts, because I didn't ever have one :D But to be honest, I would handle them like usual 2nd-hand-clothes or furniture: If they're OK and still work as intended: Why not buy them? -

what do you mean with that? Also, aside from the hardware, PCs have the advantage over consoles, because you can switch parts and always replace older ones easily (want a new GPU? just buy a new one and put it in). On consoles, you can't really do that, because you're stuck with what you bought. -

I have no website to offer, but I would go for 8GB RAM. (4 can be a little low. 8GB is enough. However, if 16GB is for sale and very cheap, 16GB is awsome, but 8GB really get's the job done pretty well. Maybe also look for a seperate CPu-cooler, because sometimes it can happen, the default-cooler doesn't really do the job. (Not a "must-have". I would only look for a cooler, if you already have your PC for some time) (on my old CPu I had the default one. And my CPU went up to 80-100°C and sometimes above 110°C, and I didn't notice, until everything crashed. Since that, I want to keep my PC as cold as possible). Certain coolers fit on certain CPU-sockets. The i5 3570K has a 1155, so when you want to buy a cooler, it must fit on 1155. for the CPU I suggest the i5 3570 or 3570K (the K is easy to overclock. So if you want to OC, grab the -K). The 3570(K) has 4x 3.4GHz. I believe if you really want to OC, you can go up to 4GHz per core (which is 4x 4GHz). As far as I know, the -K costs only 5€ more, so even if you do not plan on OC-ing, you can get the -K-version, because you never know ;) But currently, the i5 3570K offers the "best value for money", I think (I don't know how to say it in english ;) ) the i5 4670 is also good, I looked up: http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/579/Intel_Core_i5_i5-3570K_vs_Intel_Core_i5_i5-4670K.html in the end the 3570(K) and 4670(K) are very very similar (the 3570 is "worse" by 5-7% all in all, which isn't really noticeable, I suppose) Just the 3570(K) is somehow "better" (for me, personally), because it performs a little bit worse in everything, but needs less energy. (the price difference is ~20$, which is 15€ difference) -
Well, I also think a wooden buttstock should be as hard as a metal one. If a material would be "softer", than it would be plastic (but only,if it's hollow. A "full" plastic-cube is also hard as fuck). But I'm 100% for being able to melee with a weapon xD

this has been suggested many many times already ;) and a DEV(I think it was Dean. Not sure tho) somehow and somewhat confirmed, that this "could" be implemented, because buyring something would require an inventory, which can be used, after a certain animation/etc. is done. Burying somehing would create a small "dirt-hill", so the only new "thing", which needs to be made, is a new model + the animation. I would also like to add: Buried items would degenerate over time "fairly quickly". If you out these items in a bag, backpack or yellow container, they would take less damage, but degenerate, too (a Tent should always be the "best" option to save gear and protect it from taking damage, IMO)

I think limitations make DayZ "special". With 3 weapons (2 on back, 1 in hands, OR only 2 on the back) you would be ready for everything. Like 1x Mosin and 1x AKM/AK101/M4. You would be fitted for CQC-long-range. But I think it makes DayZ unique in a certain way, when you have to think: "Either take the Mosin and stick to long-range, take the M4/Ak101/AKM and be kitted for CQC, but not very efficient on long-range". To be very honest and TL,DR: Having 3 guns would make this game more boring and linear. Having only 1 (or 2 with the disadvantage by dropping the weapon everytime you take samething in your hands) makes the game a bit uncomfortable and "entertaining" at the same time.
