Ah ok, maybe they will remove the full moon or change the way it relates to light, the dark is too great an experience to be able to get around it, even if you can only do it during a full moon. Yeah im playing fullscreen. You know 'bogan, i'd love a lever action  . Love it and stroke it.

Okay, so you have more fun deathmatching in Dayz, fair enough, good for you. But the rest of what you have to say is pure shit. What is a game meant for atmosphere? well, the anticipation of who or what you are going to come across, the adventure of finding the gear, the atmosphere of finding a sleepy little town and discovering your not the first to be here, the fear of being under attack, being chased by zombies, holding someone up, yourself being heldup, the " OH FUCK " of being killed, etc etc If people just turn it into a plain free for all, how can you possibly get scared? You spawn, get a gun ASAP, kill, be killed, repeat, i dont know how you can get engrossed to point your feeling "scared and excited". Your attitude speaks volumes. -
I saw Dayz download some updates, so i gave i decided to give it a quick burn. It was night time and only a few other players, so i took the opportunity to play in 1st person with the flashlight. The city was full of zombies which was excellent, i had five bearing down on me and it was fucking brutal, especially when they started to chase me up some stairs! they didnt make it up, but for a split second i thought i'm dead for sure. I had a pistol, but no headlamp, so i thought i would gamma cheat to get out of it, but it didnt work? After hot swapping between my flashlight and pistol i got rid of the zombies, ran outside, and now i'm fairly sure that gamma cheating no longer works, so i just wanted to confirm with other players? it might have been because of the moon or something, i havent played enough nights to have know if there is a full cycle or whatnot. But yeah, things remained pretty black. And maybe a suggestion for future play, being able to combine the pistol and flashlight would be handy. Walking around in the brace position, at night, despatching zombies would be awesome. I dont know what could be done about single handed melee though, headlamp or bust? or maybe it could work the same as combining the pistol with the flashlight?.

I'm not sure you have understood, but to make the point again, why play deathmatch in dayz when there are better games suited to a hardcore player? And no, there is no fear and excitement deathmatching in a game meant for atmosphere, just regular pvp satisfaction if that is what your looking for. You've missed the point in relation to "kill, be killed, respawn, get gun, kill again", instead of the unknown in coming across another player, especially sighting somebody better armed than you. -

Right now, i guess there isnt much else to do. The way i'm playing right now is, not killing any unarmed or melee (unless they come at me), and if you have a gun and are around key areas you are definately looking for a fight. Mind you, i think i'll give Dayz a rest for a long while, need something else to do. But spawn-killers and deathmatchers are pretty vicious in not wanting anything to change, they have too much fun killing fresh spawns and unarmed players, empowerment they don't get IRL or something. And it's a 2 point problem. 1 : Why play Dayz pvp, when you can play something else like project reality?(bf2) 2 : All the anticipation, fear, excitement etc is gone because its just "kill, be killed, respawn, get gun, kill again", the open world and zombies just don't matter anymore. Running into another player should be an unknown, you know? I posted a possible solution to penalise constant spawn killers and deathmatchers but keep banditary relatively intact, but the kids jump on you real quick, pretty feral stuff too. I'm sure those are the kind of people i would not want hanging around the community for my game, but the devs would be busy as to spare any time to take notice. Just have to wait to see how the standalone develops i guess. -
I havent gone NE yet, but maybe spawn points further up the coast.

I had bullets going about a foot to the left at 600, with a bipod. I thought it was acceptable, but obviously people are getting different results. Is there firearm condition? btw i have a badly damaged scope (800), but it looks fine, unlike a damaged regular scope.

Yeah, i would only play on 1st person servers if it was there. With more zeds the intensity will go up for sure. A solution for gamma and being able to report and punish constant deathmatchers and i would be a happy man.

I can't tell you about the blood, but with the gas lamp and gas stove, you need a portable gas cylinder, attach it, then put it on the ground and turn it on. Cooking is not in the game yet, so dont worry about your gas stove.

I know animals are supposed to be added soon but, people are seeing rabbits too, right? Damn your machine, Dr Kliner... I would also agree, the alpha is pretty good, and so far getting constant updates.

Whats with this Shoot on sight mentality?
mick18 replied to CowJustice's topic in New Player Discussion
Yeah, i wouldnt "rush" another player like that, let alone enter within 10 metres of another player unannouced, sounds like you were asking for it TBH. For other stuff, ive posted a possible solution in the suggestion forum, maybe you should check it out.
