Functional, there is no difference. The T3N has much better overview imho.
-
Look at the date of the original post. And besides, there are a billion threads about everything without any constructive feedback, so where is your problem with me giving this some actual thought and coming up with a solution?
-
It can be turned off on the server. But in general yes, your character is never really "offline". If you log out, your character goes into "sleeping mode" and stays in the game like that until you log back in. In my opinion a totally stupid feature. Because like I said, it basically forces you to log in daily in order to keep your char alive. And housing is destructible, which has the same effect. YOu have to come in daily to repair damage or defend your base.
-
Because I believe the timer should be longer if you're actually in combat. This would not help against combatlogging. In D3, it was there for basically the same reason. so you couldn't avoid death by just logging out. For normal mode, it was rather irrelevant, but on hardcore it would've removed the danger of dying. Same goes for DayZ. So if you hate it, I have bad news for you, it will definitely be implemented eventually. No way around it.

This is one of the dumbest features Rust has to offer. Because it basically forces you to play frequently. If you don't log in every day, you're probably going to be dead the next time. Same goes for destructible bases. If you don't log in every other day, people will have enough time to destroy your house or base. Where in real life you'd always be near (or have someone else near) to watch over your base. If this was ever to be implemented into DayZ, I'd stop playing. But I believe it never will for multiple reasons.

Not this one... You just can't speed up the process in the way people expect, just because there is a better cashflow.

As someone who plays dayz for the thrill of pvp I can say I hate KoS as much as the next guy. For me it's about competition. I want to compete with a worthy opponent. Not kill fresh spawns in elektro. For me that is just griefing which is basically like bullying. I'm sorry but it's true. I can understand people who are afraid to lose their gear, and because of that kill other players that are a threat to them. But if a fresh spawn with an axe is a threat for you, you should play hello kitty island. Like I said I'm all about pvp, but if they can't put up a fight, you're just out ruining someone else's experience. And if that's your idea of fun, you should seek help. Because you're just like the kid in high school who likes to pick on the smaller kids.

Cool story bro! Definitely worth a thread. Glad I stumbled on this. Great read.

DayZ Sound Design Test - Part 3 Final Added
phoboss replied to fortran's topic in General Discussion
You clearly did not understand rockets post nor do you have ANY clue about game or sound design. Replacing files... yeaaaah right. Lets take a simple example of a gun sound. in the video the sound gets distorted based on location of the player and the location of the shot. e.g. in a building or from a mountain top... how do you think that works in a game? right you have to write the sound engine, so that it can process the sound and distort it accordingly. and that is something you want to do last, because otherwise you will constantly have to change the sounds over and over, everytime you change something with the sound engine. -
Seems like dayz is not the game for you.

Why is it so hard to implement a logout timer?
phoboss replied to apme123's topic in General Discussion
Everytime I read a thread like this i think of Dean throwing 100€ bills at the screen screaming "WHY U NO FINISHED DAYZ!!?" Money does not speed up development progress in the way people think. -
In the mod I used my 360 controller for helo flying, which worked very well for me. So I'm hoping same will be possible in the SA eventually

If i buy the alpha for standalone will i have to pay again for PS4?
phoboss replied to dreaderus's topic in General Discussion
Why should dayz be different from any other game? Ever heard of a game that gave you a free copy for console or PC when you bought it on the other platform? Also ps4 Version will never happen. -
Not entirely true. Clothing condition has a direct effect on how often you start bleeding when hit by zombies. So always go for pristine clothing.
-
I consider the current degradation a bug. Everything else would be ridiculous. If you get shot, even once, everything is ruined. Makes no sense what so ever. Even shooting someone in the backpack one time should only ruin so many items. The bullet wont penetrate every single item you have on you. This is even more true for a clean headshot. I'd answer this with "it's alpha". Because this clearly not works as intended. At least I hope not :D
-
You obviously can't read very well.
-
For example you are close to dieing on char A so you find a save location, log onto char B run to the same location, relog back to char A, wait till you're dead, relog to B Again and loot char A.
-
Exploit possibilities are endless. Therefor no second char, ever!

How low can someone get (Ghosters)
phoboss replied to [email protected]'s topic in General Discussion
If it were up to me, ghosting would be a perma steam ban for life :D -
the issue with suicide new spawns, and how to stop it
phoboss replied to Hi Im Brad's topic in General Discussion
I agree that a character needs to be valuable from minute one so that this whole suicide thing you're talking about stops, but a spawn timer, be it 5 or 30 minutes is a terrible idea. Sorry but no, no way in hell am I going to wait even a minute to respawn if I get killed. -
[SUGGESTION]Refill bloodbag from dead person
phoboss replied to r4nger's topic in General Discussion
Exactly, take your own blood after spawn, and let it regenerate over time. We do it all the time. -
DayZ is NOT fun for new players, which makes me worried.
phoboss replied to Murakamo's topic in General Discussion
Trying to meet with friend who never played before? Easy! "ok follow the road along the shore until you see buildings. There should be a sign with the name of the town. Describe the letters on that sign" Go to dayzdb.com and look for the town. Tell him which direction to run from there. If he's on the eastern coast, looking onto the water, left is North right is South. Boom, meet up time! -
I dont understand why there is no AUTO RUN KEY!!!
phoboss replied to Bohannan (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
But all this is true for the "coin in the keyboard" method as well. -
I dont understand why there is no AUTO RUN KEY!!!
phoboss replied to Bohannan (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
It is, and if you want to discuss the matter, fire away. Name one reason why or how having an auto run feature will affect your game play experience in a negative way and therefore should not be implemented.
