    I'm 100% sure, when the game is finished, someone is going to make a mod for in game missions. So start gathering up ideas! "Go get me the paws from 8 wolves, and you shall receive our family heirloom Sword of the Thousand Undead Souls."

    You got any source on that? I'm not saying you're not some über military officer who knows better about all militaries, but saying I haven't seen those in use in the military where I live. Or maybe you.. ..jumped to a conclusion?

    I understand your point of view, but... If I was in a zombie apocalypse, I'd stay the f**k out of melee with zombies (or infected or whatever) unless cornered and it was the only option. Then again, if I was in a zombie apocalypse, I'd propably be the one trying to eat your face... Not saying we don't need a better melee, but it should not be the baseline. Sneaky sneaky until equipped with some kind of gun. And preferably sneaky after that also.

    Dude, Lee-"Dinner Bell"-Enfield was the best thing in the mod! Slow, noisy and difficult to use, but when compared to an axe you held before it seemed like a rocket launcher from heavens! I had my best mod-times with Mr. Lee, and the game got more boring after gearing up with military guns!

    I would love to see easily craftable, but lousy, bows and arrows as the first weapon for newspawners. Sneak through few houses to find a knife, rope, razors and some pillow feathers, and then head out to the woods to find suitable saplings. Something to use for the zombies you fail to sneak by ('cause I'm hoping that in the future melee with zombies will be the worst idea ever).

    There should be cars that don't work practically everywhere, whereas gasoline, tires and engine parts should be really hard to find. So basically you should be able to use the parts you've found to repair any vehicle you seem fit!

    How about weapons (non-american) people actually have in their houses? Like bolt action hunting rifles, rimfires, over and under shotguns, revolvers, semi-auto handguns? Lame?

    Steam Achivements

    I'm not a big fan for achievements, but if there will be some, could they be for: Places to find (Visited airfield, climbed the radio tower etc.) Gear to obtain (Rare clothing, dual wielded sawed-off shotguns etc.) Fun activities (Rode a bicycle, drove a car, flew a helicopter etc.) and especially Misc. stuff that has no certain value (Ate a can of beans on top of the highest mountain, hunted a deer with a crossbow, killed a boar with a trip wire etc.) So nothing to provoke pvp, nothing to cause farming and nothing that can't be obtained solo. 'cause lets face it: Killing zombies, running for miles, dying and helping other survivors is part of the game, whereas achievements are for keeping players occupied after "endgame" has been reached and your team mates have logged out.

    Suggestion: Zombification

    I can't be the first to suggest this, but still putting it out here: What if being struck by a zombie gave you a disease which, if left untreated, resulted in turning a player into a zombie. And I don't mean you could play as a zombie, but you would die, leaving your old body wandering aimlessly. Items in the zombies inventory would deteriorate with haste and eventually vanish, if not killed and looted. This would create scenarios where an entire squad of players hunt for medicine to cure one unfortunate sick player before he turns into a zombie, and if unsuccesful, end up shooting him before the turn. Just throwing ideas at you.

    I've seen so many different opinions of what would make DayZ a perfect survival game, that the best solution might be making everything optional? And by that I mean giving servers the ability to adjust (when restarted): + Health of players + Amount of zombies + Speed of zombies + Health of zombies + FOV (and field of hear(?)) of zombies + Amount of loot + Spawn rate of loot + Type of loot (amount of military loot, amount of firearms equipment overall, amount of food, vehicles etc.) + Day/Night cycle + Etc. (?) These could all be visible and filtered when searching for a suitable server. So instead of bothering the developers with balance issues, why not let the server admins do it?

    1. Enter game as soon as server restarts 2. Run inland and loot 28 cans of food and drinks 3. Hide in bush 4. Set up alarm clock for every hour to eat and drink 5. alt+tab and go watch Netflix

    Rare military loot

    In the finished game, I would love to see military loot being more rare than in the Dayz mod. Let's face it, it's not like the apocalypse started yesterday. Military loot is what people go for in the first place, so it should be very difficult to find an automatic weapon. I know people have a lot of bolt action rifles, shotguns and handguns in europe, so those (when implemented in game) should be much, MUCH more frequent finds than assault rifles. I even saw a glimpse of night vision goggles being created for the game; try finding suiteable batteries for those in a zombie apocalypse! I'd love to see this game going in a direction where it becomes a survival MMO, rather than an army simulator with zombies.

    Can you throw a link at me? If it's not too much of a trouble. I'm just hoping it's not a Fallout-kind of encumbrance, where picking up a banana is too much and suddenly I go from Tyson Gay to Fat Joe. Luckily there's no bottomless backbags...
