Glad you get 4 reconnects before it wipes your stuff, some of us don't. I'm not trying to make a bigger deal out of it than it is, but after losing a full load-out several times without having the opportunity to do anything with it besides scavenge, it gets to the point where I don't want to play anymore. Also, ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ All I was trying to say is.....

Hey guys, Public Service Announcement! You have to create a separate account to use the bug tracker, the forum and bug tracker are different sites apparently. Also, I'd like to weigh in on loot spawn rates- I think that they should be the same as in DayZ Mod. There should be a set respawn time/distance and loot cycling should be viable as well. While I see where people are coming from, I think if you follow the logic of the "in a real zombie apocalypse....." argument too far then the game wouldnt be fun at all. It's a balance between realism and entertainment, make the game too unforgiving and it becomes a boring tedious task simulator. I'm sure the devs understand this and it's important to keep in mind that they're doing their best to balance it, and they know way more about what they're doing than most of us do.

Alpha testers, and even beta testers, generally don't pay retail price for the piece of software they're "testing", but that is besides the point. Also, I dont follow Dean on twitter or anything, so I didn't get the memo about anything he specifically said. Props to you though for being in the know. . I really wasn't trying to start an argument about the bug in question here, just draw attention to it as something that is highly game breaking and deserves more attention than licking batteries, for example..

Are you trying to say that I'm losing my character because I'm logging out while unconscious? Because these are two separate issues we're talking about. I dont know why it hasn't happened to you, I hope it doesnt, but it's a well documented bug that a lot of people are not happy about. I know it's alpha, but we're still supposed to be able to enjoy it right?

I've been waiting for storage to be implemented too. It would help with the problem of losing all my gear every time I log off... Also, once hives are set up you should be able to have as many characters as you want on separate hives. (groups of servers that are independent of the public "hive" and have independent characters)

Big problem I'm seeing in this thread: TL;DR- People should acknowledge that losing your toon when you switch servers is a game breaking glitch and deserves top priority attention. Person A: "Fix the player wipe when switching servers" Person B: "DONT SERVER JUMP" Reasons that Person A is right and that all the Person B's are being absurdly irrational: 1. There is nothing illegitimate about switching servers! -Real life example from the last time I lost my stuff: Server I'm playing on goes down for extended period of time. Solution is to join another server, now my char is dead, great. -What if your friend is on a different server and, god forbid, you'd like to play together? 2. To say "well this is Alpha, you gotta expect stuff like this" doesn't make sense when we're getting fixes like faster running while empty handed (not a realistic mechanic btw) and new crafting recipes e.g. splints for broken legs. 3. If this was explained, somewhere, anywhere, as a game mechanic with a time limit- "no switching servers within 5 minutes", or for any other reason, then it might be understandable. But as of now it's simply a glitch. This has cost me personally, hours and hours of hard work and made the game virtually unplayable. I never know if my gear will be there when I join a new server.
