Today I and my gf went to the forrest in Sweden to hike around a bit and barbecue. And I find this mysterious shed in the woods that looks like its taken straight from DayZ! With some electronic boxes on the side and a huge cabel going into the shed. There is like no other buildings or anything electronic like lights or something near so I dont know what it is used or have been used for. And electronic stations dont look like this in Sweden either :). Tried to open it but was locked. Im like Von Däniken in ancient aliens: "This is amazing, absolutley amazing!", my gf is more like "sigh...". Guess who is wearing his survivor cap in the forrest and has two thumbs and is happy to have found a DayZ shed, this dude! :D Some barbecue and there where som minor rage when I realised we have forgotten the ketchup and mustard for the bratwursts at home. And then a nice pond to fill our water bottles in ;) A nice day imaging Im a survivor for real lol.

how to close mouse wheel wepaon selection without switching weapon?

If you scroll the mouse wheel and get the weapon selection option on screen. how do I then close that selection without switching weapon? -
I already had some decent gear but in the gas station west side of vybor I found 2 dead survivors not with any spectacular gear but both had M4A3 CCO(one of my favorite backpack weapons for close combat), coyote backpack, ammo and alot of other stuff. Didnt seem to be looted so think zombies took them (was the patch when zombies where crazy hard). But still think to fully equiped guys would know how to handle it? Another story: I died respawned with nothing and had no weapon. In the first deer stand I hit close to coast I find a M9 silenced. A bit further I hit another deer stand with a MP5 silenced and ammo and a AK cobra with ammo! I was like "jippie descently geared up and ready to go!"

I recently had guilie suit, coyote backpack and my favorite weapon setup: M16A4 ACOG for midrange and a M4A3 CCO(silenced would be nice) for shortrange. M1911 but would have prefered M9 silenced. Alot of ammo and the usual inventory but did not have NVG, GPS or rangefinder. Anyway melee patch killed my ACOG but found it again and then .4 i think removed all my gear and then I was killed trying to find it again.

Cant blame him for searching for hacks. I have been searching for hack sites and videos just to see what kind of stuff there exist so you know what youre facing and what hackers can do. Do this in most of the games I play just to see what the hackers are able to do and what to expect and how to recognize hakickg features in the game.

Havent found any vehicles as they always seems to be stashed away somewhere. Havent found any super gear but for me they where great. I really like the m16 ACOG which I lost during updates and then was lucky to find again and then lost it again due to backpack bug. Not so much into the real snipers but found a svd camo that was pretty sweat. Used up the ammo and then dumped it in a deer stand, wonder if a lucky guy found it? :). Even if I played alot I never found NVG or GPS and I stumbled upon the heli wreck a couple of times but no FAL or as50 sniper just dmr and bizon and other stuff. Next is not any uber gear but sweet for a short time of play, I died the other day and restarted. Soon I hit 2 deer stands just north of coast and in the first a M9 silenced with 4 mags! that pistol I never have found before I like, yeah a weapon(only had flashlight). Then in the next stand there was a mp5 silenced and a aksu cobra. Like two weapons to choose from with mags. I like, woot is this, havent seen any deer stand before with 2 pretty nice weapons and never a mp5 silenced. Anyway I took the mp5 silenced so for the first time I only have silenced weapons. But right now a can of beans would be great because I havent found any food yet ;) -
Several servers say 1.7.1.5 and a beta version in their name but in the version field down right it sais 1.60 and no beta version is displayed? While on several other servers the actual beta version is displayed like 1.60.93965. I havent dared to join one of these servers with only 1.60 before because I didnt want to risk ending up in debug because of a wrong version. But died the other day and I thought hey I can test it now because there is a alot of servers that have 1.60 in the version field and stated 1.7.1.5 in their name and a bet version. And it seems to work. Can servers run 1.7.1.5 without having a correct beta version of arma? And why isnt this displayed in the version field then?

you gotta be kidding me! I was on day 16-17 in the middle of nowhere. stopped in a bush crouched to look at the map and someone shoots me. So much shit my character had survived. Sea spawn, debug wilderness, forrest and all ingame stuff. A couple of seconds you put your guard down and youre dead. Welcome to dayz.... Lucky I had managed to loose my weapons except the pistol due to updates and backpack bug. So the guy who thought he gonna find goodies on someone with ghilie suite would be dissapointed. how long have you guys survived?

it was YOU! HAHA OMG I think I was on an Atlanta server and I remember that you where on it. You had some clan tag or something before your name? I think it is runned my Schultz or Schutze or something. And maybe I remeber incorrect but I think he had the same tag as you? I always check if there is several clan members in a server so you have to watch out for groups that probably communicate. And I remeber you as "Seattle" instead of Settle because I live in Sweden and Im going to Vancouver to study this fall and Seattle is so close. Well I didnt sneak so much then. Much running in open but I thought I had a good look around and didnt thought anyone would be out there. Was looking for primary weapons in the deer stands so I had something to hit the airfield with. Where you watching me when I killed the cow or you maybe heard my shoots then? Anyway I died west of NW in some bushes at a T intersection, had a g17, raw meat and alot of m16 ammo I think. Damn updates crippled my character a couple of times by removing my weapons. Would never run around out there otherwise. Well you have a nice trofee kill. Maybe not everyday you kill a day 16-17 guy :). Saw that Schutze died today, think you guys have some stuff on the server maybe? And I think someone picked him up after spawn with a suv and drove north maybe? Just so you know I have my eyes on you guys :) when I have my gear again you better watch your back ;)

Today a weapon have dissapered from my backpack? I have been fully updated when I found the weapon and all. and no updates applied after. and now its gone when i logged in again Weapon have dissapered from my backpack before but then it was due to updates of the game. but now what can have happened? and its the same weapon that have dissapered both times. the m16a4 acog.

Lol this tape is like 100% evidence. You can see the kill the same guy several times. Have seen other videos also ppl killing others and the console reports friendly fire and then they spawn back at the same place again. They are not in debug forrest but somehow is it a part of the hack. -
I hope 3d person will stay. And let servers decide what they want. Sometime I play on 3dp and crosshair. SOmetimes just 3dp and sometimes no 3dp and no crossh. I like to vary and think the options should be there for the players to choose. And in 3dp I get this survivor feeling when I can see my character and what he is doing in the world. Add another kind of feeling than 1st person. But then sometime I feel to play a bit more hardcore and then join a non 3dp server.

Would this graphics card run this game relatively well on normal settings?

it should run fine. it seems as the arma engine is using the cpu alot more than the gpu. Not really optimized. So with that cpu it will run fine. and the graphics card I think overpowered for this game so it will work great but the game doesent use the full potential of the gpu so it doesent matter. Myself have an older cpu intel q6600 4*2.4 and nvidia 560ti 1gb. Have after alot of tweaking reached 30-35fps at 1920*1200. alot of reports about cpus that work 100% and gpus that work I dont know 30-50% while playing. -
This is how I went from 20-25fps in woods (lower in town) to 30-35fps. You have been able to read all the info here on the forum before but I just wanted to share my experince while trying to make the game run smoother. I have a Intel q6600 2.4*4 4gb ram nvidia 560 Ti 1gb and run a resolution of 1920*1200. You who have 16:9 screens and 1920*1080 may get even better results? First I did everything in the first post in this thread except turning on ambient occlusion that takes resources and adds strange shadows around objects. You can skip the field of view part also if you want. I didnt have the option to set prerendered frames to 0 so I didnt change that setting either. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=16037 Then in post 4 and 5 in this thread they are talking about modify a file to set the cpu count. Mine was on 2 and changed it to 4 becuase I have a quad. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=16960 Then I did everything in the first post in this thread(you may skip Field of view FOV if you want). I had done everything in it before except the setting of nr of cpu and maxmem. I added those now to my startstring also. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=1355 I attach my ingame settings. I explain some of them. Cant find the post now but some people argued that if you set your ingame shadow detail to very high you forced it to run on the gpu rather than the cpu. If you have a good GPU you should get increased performance by turning this setting up! Terrain and objects detail is on low they dont look much better with higher and mostly the grass is affected that still looks great. (cant find the post that said this either) You can get more performance by turning off antialiasing compleatly but the game really looks like crap then imo. I have tried to activate antialiasing FXAA in nvidia settings instead of ingame antialiasing but dont look good then either. So I have it on low. I still think the game should run alot better and feels unoptimized but this is the best I have managed so far and still have some quality to the picture.

As soon Im in a zombie area it seems like the only option is to prone and crawl the whole time nowdays. As soon as I crouch it seems I get a zombie on me even if I think they are quite far away. And the zombies seem to see you while crouching in buildings, almost always get aggro when moving around crouched (and sneaking) in buildings where prone is not so convienient and dangerous if you crawl over the wrong objects that might hurt you. Was not LOS added so they wouldnt see you through walls and stuff? I dont think proning around adds much more skill to the game. Its just boring because it takes so much time. Crouching should be more usefull.

I tested skin yesterday and it worked! Ok I have tested skin once before and ended up in sea in 1.7.0 and no AO beta installed when switching to camo skin. My debug stats was zeroed when I put on the skin but was back in next login in sea. Read the forums and they said that the latest AO beta will fix the skin-sea problem. Yesterday with the latest AO beta and 1.7.1.4 installed and I had lost my weapons due to the update for some reason I thought I would give it a try again and put on a ghilie suite I had been carrying around. My debug stats was zeroed and I was like WTF! But I thought I run down south and try to put up a tent with my stuff in and relogin and swim back. Also some ppl say you have to play for 15mins to be saved so I continued to play. During my travels I killed maybe 20 zombies and a survivor(NW airfield, you get kinda paranoid there). Then I lost my connection to the server and was like, ok now my new stuff is gone. I login immedietly again and I did not end up in sea!!! So it worked and i got my former debug stats back with the new one since skinchange added. Dont know if this helps out but I have been at sea once and now it worked with latest beta and updates.

agree +1! Boring now to prone the whole time. Dont add any skill it is just time consuming. And when you have proned all the way to a building then the zombies line of sight seem to see through the building because when you crouch sneak around and check loot you almost always get aggro. and if you escape into a buildning and zombies loose you then the just stand there in the building opening forever. THey should after a while start walking around again. you dont always want to start shoot and attract more of them or bandits. You may break the standing with a flare but often there is couple of zombies that is not attracted and then they aggro when you try to prone out of the building if its a building where you can prone out. -

+1 Agree. But zombies should not be more powerfull than now. A couple of times they have broken my bones on the first hit and I was close to die after the latest patches. If they where even more powerful you would die if you did just one mistake. Boring and timeconsuming to prone and crawl the whole time. croush is totally worthless nowdays and the zombies line of sight doesent seem to be affected by buildings. -
Seen the same but it shoudve been fixed in 1.7.1.1 In 1.7.1.1: * [FIXED] Infected will stay in one place after losing line-of-sight (now will loiter) But they never start loiter. They just stand in the door opening forever. THey never start to wander around again. Dont know if this in 1.7.1.3 has something to do with it: * [NEW] Once infected lose line-of-sight they will try investigate where you are But they shoudl start to move around and not just stand where they lost you forever and blocking the entrance to the building.
