I agree with Ghua. You shot at him, and you missed.. If someone was shooting at me, and I knew where the shot was coming from, I would definitely sos on that guy too. The guy could've just wandered around the woods leading up to the appartments and snuck inside, without you seeing him. It doesn't mean he's been logged out, and then logged in minutes later.. Another thing, you've got to check your surroundings too, meaning - don't just stand in a window in an appartment, looking over the airfield etc. Keep checking the room you're in, and the doors/exits leading to that room - even the stairs leading to the appartment you're in. And don't just check it once every 5-10 minutes.. That's a long time for someone to sneak up behind you. :) No matter if we're in Alpha, Beta or the final release - there will always be people who shoot on sight, and don't wanna use communication as parts of their playing style. That's just the human nature... Some people think it's easier to resolve a conflict by shooting the first guy they see with a weapon, instead of trying to be friendly, and maybe get a "friend" or two. :beans: -
Tbh.. The Arma engine works fine. It just needs adjustments and fine polishing, which already is being done. Content is being added, animations are being refined, and the overall performance - both server and client side is being progressed as time goes. Rome wasn't built in a day guys. Give it time. I have faith in the dev team. Considering what the Alpha is now, I'm really looking forward to following/playing the next years of development. :beans:

Welcome to DayZ.. I agree with Mos1ey. Standalone (for now with no other objectives out there other than Players vs Player), is about getting loot and hunting for other players. Either to force feed them, join groups (and harass other groups) or to simply be a lone ranger and SOS. Sadly to say, this is the game for now. When you die, you actually get to find stuff again. It's amazing how happy you get by seeing the same loot over and over and over again, just to pick it up and loose it and repeat.. :) Cheers.

It's propably the "I'm hurt and vulnerable" animation. Don't think it's implemented yet.

IMO... Get a SSD harddisk for your OS and Programs (And DayZ). You'll thank me later. The performance you get from an SSD running the operating system and certain programs/games is just fantastic, and once you've tried it - you're shaking your head thinking "Why o' why did I wait so long.." Edit: Rest of the parts look sweet. I'm running on a i5 3570k, 16 gigs of ram and a GTX 660ti. Running around Cherno with approximately 30-35 fps and a constant 60 fps everywhere else. You'll be fine with your new setup. (I would die for that 780ti too!) Cheers! :beans:

I must admit, I don't think this rubber banding issue is fixed yet. :( I was running from spawn to electro to join friends. Stopped in Electro to loot a guy who killed me, got a weapon and a backpack - then POP! Back to spawn with the items just looted.. I don't know if this is the socalled rubber banding issue, or some kind of teleport issue.. It's the only reason the game is not playable for me atm.. -

I would say cool idea, but I would like alot more things first before they start to implement things like this. I want camps! Vehicles! Wild Life! Cooking! More and less bugged Zombies and more bug fixing! And Client optimization! Oh god.. Anyway.. After all those things, more fluid animations would be nice.

Hey there! I really want to be afraid of the zombies in this game - I really DO! But... They're harmless and just annoying.. Not scary at all.. Jada jada jada, I know it's alpha and the current state is not the final and wanted one, BUT.... IMO the zombies should move faster than they are at the moment, AND they should have a narrower/smaller Line of Detection. Was playing the other night and was fully zoomed in on a building far away. Then the Zombie turned around to face me, and started humping my way.. I was like wtf.. Decided to see where it was going, because maybe another player woke it's attention.. but no.. xD Noone are afraid of the zombies, because you can easily outrun them, and loose them around buildings etc. If they were just running a tad faster then you, you'd have to seek rescue in buildings and close/barricade the doors to slow them down. This of course would mean that the zombie wall/floor/stairs clipping/glitching should be fixed, and some kind of "door smashing" or "Window climbing" feature should be added to them. I miss being afraid of a raid of zombies, and I miss being trapped inside a house - not held up my other players, but also by Zombies. Anyone else feel this way, or am I the only one? :P Cheers

But but but. You're wrong. I DO care that it's in Early Access Alpha, and I understand that there's a long way to go from this point. So I don't know how funny it is tbh. By sharing ideas, thoughts and discussing on a forum like this - IS caring for the game in the early stages if I'm not mistaking. ;) -

Tbh.. Nowadays everyone has a microphone, and if you're playing DayZ - new or not - you know that you can communicate with others, and you have your microphone settings enabled/figured out. I'm generally friendly when I encounter players. Geared or not.. BUT.. If I ask them a question from the distance, and I get no response - but they continue my direction and/or have a "I'm interested in knowing where you are" or are showing some kind of offensive attitude like drawing a gun., I will never hesitate to shoot. The standalone is built in with the lower/raise weapon system, and it should really be used as a "I'm pointing my gun at your face", or a "Dude chill, I'm not out to get you" kinda way.. Generally alot of people are nice, but some are just playing you. That's the whole deal with DayZ. Trust noone, and stay sceptical. :beans: And watch your back while being friendly. You never know who's lurking around the corner.. :huh: -

He propably removed all the buildings from the *.pbo files, and was able to see and shoot through them.. Dev team should so make a client files authentication check upon login... That would solve alot of these incidents I believe. -

I tried this, but I couldn't combine the 3. I tried attaching Ducttape to the flashlight - no use. Then all the other way around, but couldn't get it to work. What order are you assembling the pieces to make it work, or is it a question whether you can actually combine the 3 objects? :)
