Are you kidding me? As I posted on another thread. I ran from Lopatino to Norganoe over 4 hours checking pretty much everything and found zero ammo, zero soda cans, zero vests, one pair of cargo pants and the only weapon was a P1 pistol. If I didn't have my plastic water bottle I'd be f*cked as I've not spotted a canteen in days. Maybe try persistent servers if you want a challenge? Loot is so screwed even on persistent you can find places packed with useless stuff put nothing you need. -
I play on two persistent servers in lowish pop parts of the world and have not found any ammo in about 4 hours. Soda cans are spawning even less. ' Lots of loot explosions with damaged hats, and sh*t - but nothing really useful and that's from running from Lapatino to Kemenski and checking every building.

Yeah ammo is certainly hard to come by at the mo. -
I've never really played a lot on persistent servers but have joined one. Swinging through the NW Airfield, everything of value was looted. My understanding, (I could be way off here), of loot spawning is that If I pick up an item another random item spawns within a 1 km radius. Does destroying an item, eating cans, using rags, etc cause another random item to spawn? Should then on persistent servers, players be recycling junk items i.e destroying them? Can items be destroyed in fires? Does a ruined item still count as an item? Forgive me ignorance but I've never been into building fires since the mod, so have no idea the effect it has on items. What about throwing things in lakes? If you could destroy items in a fire what is to stop a group of players building a fire at the NW airfield and burning all the junk items to attempt to spawn guns, etc?

I particularly like shooting my trumpet into zombie crotch whilst it bashes my head.

Spawning bear trap/mine protection

I picked up a mine, never had one before. Where's a good place to put it? -
Yeah when I'm not playing on Pipsi I tend to play Ausarma. Will check it out when I'm next on.

Who have said this? What a load of crap.

So the way I read it was that the devs are going back to 0.54 loot system?

Sorry, I know it's not a hand to hand weapon but it's ages since I had an SKS. Even with a broken scope x2 perfect headshots to clear that lovely loot spot police car. I gave them Mercy. I love the SKS. -
You'll log back in with a broken leg.

Lol try living in Australia or New Zealand

Sorry but there was loads of cans of food it was just all concentrated in one area and 55 also had insane amounts of vests of all kinds. I'd just nerf the current can spawn rate a little but make sure it is spread evenly around that was my main gripe with .55.
-
Nah I was fine before I logged out. Came back no truck. It was ok I had a hacksaw and made a splint.
-
They did it was on a tweet, my wife read it.
-
The less loot theory of .55 was a bit of a myth there was loads of loot but it was all placed in and around Novaya. 8 items in outhouses etc. What pissed people off was that there was nothing until you got to the middle of the map and beyond. Yes it was survivable if you ate berries and apples but a lot of people, myself included, find the foraging part of the game extremely tedious. Spending hours watching my toon milk an imaginary cow for some red or blue berries bored the tits off me. The devs are not stupid they know that only the really anal of the player base are going to get their kicks from this and if the game shifts to a complete crafting/foraging sim people will leave. Most people want a survival sim with interactions with other players and Z's and a balanced system of gaining food and water. I'm ok with foraging and crafting but it should not be to the expense of all and as I've said before the HC survivalists that sneered at everyone for criticizing .55 also know the map inside out. That's hardly a challenge if you know where all the ponds and pumps are.

There's a fair amount of blank/placeholder land north of Smirnovo or thereabouts can't be exactly sure as didn't have a compass at the time. I'd love it if the map could be a random spawn on each server.

I don't see it that way. A million tons of loot in some toilet in the far north was hardly realistic. Yeah I don't want too much loot either and I want a challenge, but.... What I don't want is to spend my whole life picking f*cking berries so I can survive until I reach some uber-pristine northen town with a ton of loot and one Z. Also for all you Bear Grylls wannabies - you ain't hardcore at all. You know the map inside out because you constantly go on about how many hours you've put in. So where is the challenge? You've played the game to death and now sneer on anyone who doesn't want to spend an hour "searching for berries". -
Sorry but I just spent 45 minutes finding berries, etc and it was dull as f*ck. People didn't watch the Walking Dead to see Rick plant tomatoes. I'm all for that side of the game and for those that want to play it but it should not be at the expense of all. In Nycta, (unlooted), I found a couple of pairs of damaged boots and nothing else. All the loot has moved to the North side of the map. I'm sure I'll survive it's just going to take me a lot longer to get there.
-
Yeah but that sort of doesn't interest me, although I am foraging.

The thing is people are not screwing around on the coast. A lot of comments on here are from people who know where to go and know where to look for loot. I spawned up near Berezino and immediately headed inland to hit Polana and head up to Gorka and then north. I was on a tiny server when I hit Polana and I found one can of soda, no food. I hooped a few lol pop servers and still unlooted towns had little to nothing and no food. I was totally with you until I got killed and res-pawned recently. I've been surprised at how difficult it is to get further than the middle map at the moment.
