I wonder if it's a defense mechanism to stop them getting eaten - "Hey I'm one of you guys"? I'm hearing coughing sounds also, quite surreal a visit from the Great God Pan?

I do miss the Crawlers and the Hoppers and I really hope they make a return in the future. There was just something "wrong" about the the way the hoppers hopped along - very creepy. I loved they way they'd stop on spotting you and run after you like gorillas - fantastic. Also will the Jamie Hyneman zombies return??? I'm ok with their long range vision and I can see in the future it's going to be quite tricky staying alive with more zombies spawning and spotting you from a distance. At the moment if a zombie comes after me in a house I exit the house and take care of him/her/it. I can't be doing with the old gunshot sounds on a miss hit inside a building. Not sure if it's viable but a door eventually being broken down by a zombie would be cool. I'll not be sad to see the current floor swimmers/ankle biters (bugged zombies inside houses) go though.

OP Sad to say I think you made a mistake trying to locate any friends of the guy that combat logged. I would have just moved on really quickly after having a quick scout around. I wouldn't have spent 10 mins in the same area. If people combat log there's a chance they come back and try to kill you. Apart from that it was a nice attempt to save the fresh spawns.

Until today the only encounters I've had with players with guns was KOS - Every person I met would try and kill me. In total I have been killed 5 times by other players and have killed maybe 7 possibly 8, ( a couple I'm not 100% as I hit them and they logged). Two people earlier chose not to KOS and payed with their lives. I was blown away that players would not try and kill me straight away I just acted on instinct and killed them. OK I needed the first guys boots so that was pre-meditated. Bases/airfields - I'm super anxious so will just fire immediately. My gun is always ready and I only swap to the axe to quietly take out Zs. Towns/roads - if I can avoid other players I will unless I need loot and I think they will have what I need. Never kill unarmed anymore or respawns. I'm trying to mellow but instinct just kicks in I can't help it.

Well I live up north, in low pop servers and I'm not friendly. I've killed two people today one just stood there and one followed me into a barracks, both up north with only like 6 people on the server at the time The second guy I had no idea he was there I just turned around and there he was - staring at me. WTF was he thinking?? I got the shock of my life and just opened up on him. Why follow someone into a building and then just stand there he could have tried to communicate but didn't I don't know what he expected. Anyhow thanks for the gun it was better than mine :)

The first time ever playing on the Mod and I went straight into a night server, must have been near Elektro docks. I turned my torch on and spotted two zombies wandering and hopping nearby moaning away. I crawled into a shed and lay there for 20 mins terrified. Then peaking out, still prone, I turned my torch on and saw one of those crawling zombies really close and heading my way. It was 3 in the morning and I made a coffee, I was still so unnerved when I looked outside into the night I actually got a bit freaked out. The other one happens quite regularly - I get so absorbed into the game I'm not aware of anything else. Then my cat Stormy comes in and he always headbutts the back of my calf as his way of saying hello - that's had me jumping in the air many times.. The first time I bumped into a player in the standalone entering a building I was looting Unloaded 30 rounds in his direction killing him. I was still shaking 5 minutes later. The poor sod had a gun but no ammo.

Mentioned this on another thread. The guy I hacked to death today for his boots - after a wipe I was left in my underwear and my axe. Bumped into this guy looting at an airfield he just froze and didn't do anything to defend himself he had his axe out as well so it was one on one but he bottled it. Hey I needed boots man. The other thing although not exactly killing but my favorite thing to do is when I'm a new spawn is round up a few zombies and train them onto someone who's not expecting it. Cue benny hill music as they try and shake them I like to follow at a distance if I can. Always gives me the giggles - I am a man of simple tastes.

Exited game and entered on another server when I entered I was back on the coast as a noob with all my equipment gone. Anyhow I sighed and thought oh well it's a wipe nothing I can do about it. I exited the game re-entered and I was back in the town I was looting before the wipe, except I had no clothes on and just my axe everything else was gone - it was almost as if it had been done to me as a joke. Guy running around in his underwear but we will let him keep his axe lolz. Also a nearby zombie was making some weird growling sounds I not heard before. Tell me it's a wipe and nothing more sinister?

After the wipe I found clothes but could not find footwear. Bumped into a player at one of the airfields and hacked him to death for his boots. God that was cold. I feel pretty sh*tty about it. Ok I'm not going to KOS Anymore, well maybe not for a couple of hours. The guy just froze - fight man! fight!

Cool thanks for letting me know I've been wiped before but not like that damn and I had some great scopes too.

I've never done any acting but I reckon I could play both parts - just give us a bell.

I would like a beerometer that tells me not to log on in hotspots and then get killed by a couple of mosy wielding bandits cuse I think I'm being clever stalking an airfield with my M4. We could call it the foolameter if that's better.

Yeah I know how to fix it, sort of, it's not an exact science but it does my, "jeeez", "hurrrrmmm", "fUuuuk" head in when he does get injured. Is the female toon less annoying?

I actually met a hermaphrodite once. She went the female route - a little messed up.

I love it. I mean if you are not freaked out enough surviving in a zombie apocalypse you'll just have a spot of light reading with HP Lovecraft in your backpack. You'd have to be really hardcore to do that - cheers you've made me chuckle!!!

The Alpha is far, far, far better than I was expecting. I'm loving it and having a blast. I'm not on the most populated servers which kind of makes it quite intense when you can go an hour without meeting anyone and then suddenly it's all on. When it said Alpha I expected the game to be almost unplayable - yet I've clocked 85 hours - just brilliant.

Cannot equip this despite having the m4 handguard RIS - I'm thinking my handguard is damaged so that's why I8 can't equip? Anyone managed to equip this yet?
