    Do you agree with modding in SA?

    I support it if only for the fact that BI may decide to take the game in a direction that you may not enjoy as much. This way you can mod it out and have a player base that enjoys that style of play. I don't enjoy the 1000+ vehicle spawn with assault gun type of server - but then again I never play on them - doesn't impact me. But, by modding my old server I was able to introduce features as harsher climate impacts, greatly increased zombie numbers and tweaking loot. WIthout the ability to mod I don't think we would have the player base we do with the standalone. Don't like a mod - don't play it! Easy.

    Keep the zombies the way they are

    If they left the zombies as is, I would imagine that 80% of the player community would abandon Dayz and never look back (myself included). When i ran a server for the mod, my players were constantly asking for more zombies. I did manage to increase the number significantly but it caused major lag on the server and caused allot of issues. I can say that if they get them working, this game is epic. I've run through elektro being chased by 150+ zombies - changes the game for the better!

    #1 priority issue needing to be fixed

    My mouse is fine too and non of the other gents I play with have mentioned anything. I think that if a problem isn't global (i.e. next to no zombies on the map) then it won't get much attention by the devs for while. Are you and your friend running similar hardware / mouse drivers?

    Idea for Classes

    I see what the goal is. Bandits have a motivation not to shoot in case of ruing gear. But because a player's worth is their gear - why should they comply with bandits - easier to go down fighting - nothing to lose. Although I don't like the idea of arbitrary character classes - too "gamey" for me. What about all abilities have a animation timer and a potential to fail said action. E.g. first time I use a bandage 20% chance it fails (falls off or rag rips). As my character performs these actions the chance of the failure reduces as well as the animation time (to a set minimum). This may allow character value to be dis-associated with gear and simulate a type of "experience". Yes - this may introduce a level of "grinding" to improve a character - but I feel if it is a slight and hidden characteristic it would make it a little less likely that the majority of players wouldn't grind. Even if I did grind my character up to a higher proficiency - it would still make me consider complying with a bandit and hand over my M4 because I wouldn't want to through the whole process over again. Just my .02

    Considering the setting of the game, I don't think I'd want to be smelling players! Eeewwwww!
  13. I like the idea, but what about not dead bodies, but just the remnants of bodies (cause the zombie ate them). Scavenging a house with a random body parts and gore would be good.
  14. When the animals get included, it would be nice if the zombies/infected reacted to them as they would a player. This would add an interesting dynamic in that: Zombies attacking wildlife. 1. Uncertainty if an aggroing zombie is on a player or ambient life (cow,deer) 2. Seeing a dead animal may mean food but carry a high risk of infection if killed by a zombie. 3. Losing a needed animal to a zombie would introduce difficulty to hunting. 4. Animals would run from the zombies causing both animal disbursement and zombie disbursement that would be unpredictable 5 Would be very funny seeing a group of zombies attempting to catch a rabbit! Although maybe they only chase the larger animals. Zombies attracted to dead players / animals This would add another level of difficulty, especially when zombie numbers are increased. Imagine, just killing another player, but a large number of zombies are attracted to the area due to the noise. 5-10 of the zombies start munching on the player you killed, making it a choice to kill those zombies (and risk attracting more) to loot the body or not. Additionally, the zombies eating the dead player should continue to do damage to the clothing, backpack, making it again a higher risk option. If left unchallenged the eating zombies would completely consume the dead body (i.e. despawn). Just random ideas from a fruit...

    What about... Find M4 and 2 magazines. Put 2nd mag on ground and shoot it = ruined. Drop good magazine in bushes. Load ruined magazine into gun. Gleefully jog to coast and give to fresh spawn. Follow your new benefactor and what is see what fun ensues!

    Best way to lose PLAYERS that are chasing you?

    Lose them? Ohhh I don't do that.... Make sure your character is healthy...then just string them along! If they look like they are about to give up the chase stop and give them hope! Eventually their character will be dehydrated and hungry - then find the nearest zombie! Good fun for all. Note: make sure that you've got the following critical equipment. 1. Pink baseball cap 2. Yellow rainjacket (or orange shirt) 3. No pants 4. Every inventory slot filled with books (just in case they do kill you they can enjoy the loot)
