Killed by a glitch or a player?

In most cases it's a sniper shot. After a few hundred meters, you simply don't hear the sound of the shot. Has happened to me quite a few times in both the city but also in the woods. However, I also believe it could be a glitch. I was lagging quite a bit yesterday on a server alone and it suddenly came up with the death screen.
  2. It's alpha. If you don't understand what an alpha is then go and try and get your money back because the current state of the game is not for you. Alpha builds have big bugs, that's just fact and it's never going to change. Clearly, the character reset bug isn't a small bug otherwise it would be fixed by now. At the same time, character wipes are to be expected. If you expect to hold onto your character until the game is completely finished (Unless you die), then it will be a huge shock to know that's not the case. I won't be leaving the game anytime soon. The bugs in the game are not game-breaking. Boo hoo, your character got reset, it isn't hard to gear back up, toughen up and realize you've brought a game that will have these issues that will eventually be fixed.

    Vehicles: For or against them?

I'm 50/50 on vehicles. On one hand, I feel vehicles will make the game a bit easier. In the space of an hour, if you're lucky, you could be well stocked with food and drink, possibly weapons and ammo and other necessary gear. All loaded into the trunk of the car. On the other, I think once private hives are more common and loot spawn times are upped, long running server times etc, the issue of cleaning up the server in a short amount of time becomes irrelevant. It gives an ultimate goal for some people which is nice. I don't think they enhance the game much, nor does not adding them degrade the experience and makes it less enjoyable. I'm fine running all over the place and I don't think I'll ever go out of my way to build a vehicle. I would personally like to see random helicopter crashes be restored as firstly, you and your group would have to take out the horde of zombies which would no doubt give other players time to ambush you and then you've got to repair said helicopter. Plenty of risk and danger involved which pretty much sums up what the game is about.
  4. I tend to time my breaks for servers restarting. So perhaps I've been playing for two or three hours and want to take a break, I generally head to an airfield, take said break and then join a new server, loot and I'm off elsewhere. I still call it server hoping but I feel less guilty about it. Always leaving food, drink and most other supplies, only taking ammo unless it's super rare. For the past two or so weeks I've gone no lower than North West Airfield, just running back and forth along the back. Some very good loot especially in the row of garages. I know for sure this next week until the patch drops I'll be leaving my character just outside of Guba where I assume the new town is. Until tents and places to hide gear come into the game, I don't dare to go down to the cities. Too many people come down from the north with Mosins and camp the bloody hell out of them.

    Rolling Update Rev. 0.30.113860

Love the speed of the updates. Not even a week and we've got another update. I assume there's a character wipe? No biggie. Found myself a nice route to get most of my gear back :D Edit: Updated and jumped back in, character is still there. Awesome stuff!

Please help!!! Stuck under a building.

If there is a set of stairs in front of you, you should be able to vault out of it. Happened to me yesterday when another player tried to attack me with a baseball bat. Both fell through the fall and I managed to escape by vaulting into the steps. Left the other bloke to die :D

The north (winter is coming etc)

Spent a few hours running through the north. All the roads that are laid makes me excited to explore new towns. Notably, just north of the new North East town there's a road that leads to an open field. Really interesting stuff. I've already noted some possible camp sites :P

I killed 2 bandits robbing a guy of his blood!

Ah, legend. Always good to see people like you doing things such as this.

    Too many veterans

Lone Wolfs are newcomers? I guess my time in both the Arma 2 mod and over the past month, Breaking Point on Arma 3 mean jack all. Newcomers will adjust. They'll learn. That's just what happens in these games. You sucked, I sucked, the guy above me sucked when we started, it happens, but we learn and so will they. If they have a whinge and quit well then no big loss, I wouldn't even be surprised if they came here to rant about how "broken" the game is. The best way to learn the game through the Alpha is firstly understanding what an Early Access Alpha is in the first place, is to select a server that has only a few people. PvP isn't something you'll learn by yourself, but learning the mechanics and the basics of the game is. Also, understand that this isn't the same engine they worked with on the mod. You can't simply cut and paste content over without some editing, coding can be rather complex when it comes to that because you want to maintain as much as possible. All the content we have in the mod? The "poor loot tables"? They're coming in the next few weeks. They're actually decent when it comes to our capabilities as players. I can guarantee you I can be stacked with food, water, a weapon, ammo and medical supplies along with a six slot Press vest, pants and coat in about three hours. Even if the server has been up for an hour or so, if you're wise, you would go to the corners of the map and loot places there.

    Idea to reduce pointless killing

If people want to Kill on Sight, then there should be no restrictions on it. If I go into an army barrack, looking for ammo or just simple resources and see another player, I'll going to kill them. If I'm at an admin building and see another player, I'm going to kill them. There are people who do it on purpose, I've done it a few times and I'll do it a lot more before I finish playing this game but then there are players who do it to get the loot first or simply just to survive. Problem with PvE servers is that you lose a large portion of the survival factor that DayZ has. What if you set up camp in the south-west corner of the map, your loot nicely stored but someone comes across it while you're there and tries to steal it. It's a PvE server and thus you can't defend it so does it become impossible to loot tents? If so, people can set up in the middle of Cherno without any problem. Zombies, especially in the Standalone, are far from a threat. Players are the most lethal factor in the game. It's just a factor of the game that people need to adjust to if they haven't already.
