Thanks for the great feedback people. Excellent feedback and all the posts are tasteful. Very nice. Where ARE most of you getting at least SOME military weapons? Barracks, military, piano houses are ALL empty after visiting 20 or so of each on my private server. I find weapons in very random far off places but zero in traditional areas...and this is over multiple days. So where ARE we able to get some? Also, just curious, where are most long range scopes?

Hello everyone, I have been playing dayz since the mod and all through the standalone. With the new patch, I thought I'd walk and hit almost every building from Cherno to Kamensk (and plenty more east and west) and see how the loot was with persistence in. This is on a private server "UN" which has 2 servers ...both well populated. Long story short, I do have a mosin with a few rounds, axe, food, water etc. There does seem to be a decent balance in the game now regarding loot. Not too easy, a bit rare, not too tough. That being said, I can't help but wonder how you all feel about this currently. As a veteran player who also a young businessman in his low 30's...I don't have TONS of time to play games. I'd love to log into dayz and have things move along a BIT faster. No major complaints here...but after hitting major barracks, loot areas, etc...I hardly picked up any weaponry. Some, but it was pretty light. Well dayz travelers...your thoughts and experiences with loot in .58? Let's have a friendly chat

hello everyone, I have been playing the stand alone for quite some time and have been eagerly waiting for persistence to hit. I have enjoyed contemplating what kind of camps I will set up. With this in mind, what are we able specifically to add to our camps currently with persistence? Plant crops? Stash items in a tent? For now, is that all that persistence really entails and what do you plan to create with your camp currently?

I read through the patch notes and couldn't help but think to myself that the only major changes are new items of clothing and some other small knick knack features which, well appreciated, don't change too much. Is persistence in and stable now and generally considered the major new addition to this patch? Anything else?

but WHERE do we find them? Secondly, do they come with gas right away or?

Are chainsaws back in? Why aren't something as cool as chainsaws, and as perfect for the genre and dayz, celebrated and discussed more?! I'm surprised people aren't making movies about and chasing these things down. Chainsaws are teh coolness!

I have been playing Dayz since the mod and through all of the alpha standalone. Love it, enjoy it. Been gone for around 6 months. I have read through a few posts for some answers, but some things I can't find the answers to. A few questions to the dayz community from a private hive player - 1 - Are loot locations recently changed in any major way? Are military bases/barracks still the "it" spots? Thought I read that any loot can be found anywhere now. 2 - Are there long range weapons now besides the Mosin? Thought I read that long range scopes are in for many weapons now? 3 - Food status so far seems to be staying the same. I am hungry and thirsty no matter how much I eat and drink, even after multiple log ins. What gives? 4 - Are zombies much harder now? I just fought one and it seemed like one shot with a .22 and one hit with the axe took it down. Seems about the same as months ago to me. 5 - What is with the game STILL acting odd when I see an item, and just can't for the life of me take it. It could be in the middle of a room but you try and try and that one item won't "retrieve" but then 5 minutes later the next items can be retrieved off the floor etc. 6 - Any tips on changes over the last few months in general that may be helpful for a lone wolf type pvp player? Wow, an angry night sneak up on you buddy? Let's get a bit more positive here, ok friend? I'm simply saying, I've been playing other games for the last four months and am debating coming back. If you don't think k coming back is appropriate... Returning, re engaging, getting re pumped work? I'm excited to re check out my, as you pointed out, purchased game. I'm a professional working in Newport Beach. Not too worried about my $20 purchase here captain.. Just worried about if the game had changed a good amount in alpha over the last few months to warrant playing it again. The other posts right under yours were exactly what I was looking for and quite helpful. Since its "definitely world's better than the last patch" and "fps are alot higher" as two people stated above, I am now more excited to come back. So, long story short, I'm more excited. Yay! Is that OK? Figured that I'm allowed to consult others to better assess where to put my own time?

Hello all, A few patches ago the notes included chainsaws. What a COOL concept. I have not found one ever. Have any of you found one? Where? This is such a cool idea that I'm looking forward to and it seems like they aren't even in the game. Please share!!
