Hello fellow survivors, i have a question. What option in game or in settings files is responsible for the distance that other players are rendered on my machine? The problem is that i can see zombies at about 1.000 meters, but other players are only showing up at about 300-350 meters. Also, at first (at about 350-450 meters) i can see only weapons on the back of the players, and only then, at about 350 meters the player models show up. My friend that plays on veeeery low settings can see other players as far as i can see zombies, i play at low-medium setting, am getting 25 fps in towns and 35 in the open, so i don't think that it is performance issue, also i play on low latency servers, and due to good internet connection my ping is very low too. What may be the problem?

Strangely i can run Arma II on all max (except AA), but this game just refuses to give me decent FPS. I also was playing loads of other graphically demanding games just fine.

I think i7 has integrated GPU, but how to check what GPU is game running on? That may be the case.

Hello survivors. I have strange issue with FPS in game. When i run all max (1366x768 resolution with no post processing, this means all textures, anti aliasing, object detail, etc. on max) i have about 6-9 FPS in forests, "that is normal" i thought, because it is not a gaming PC, it is a laptop. When i turn the settings down (1366x768 resolution, turn off anti aliasing and everything on medium, all effects off) i get a 2-4 fps boost, which gives me about 8-13 fps in forests, still unplayable. Ok, i thought, i will play on low then. But when i turned everything off, i mean everything i could, textures on low, object detail on low etc. (resolution still 1366x768), i gained from 0 to 1 FPS in forests. After that i tried to search the forums, found settings for the .cfg files and start parameters for the game. Tried different combination of both, gained about 3 FPS. That sums up to 11-16 FPS in forests. The strangest thing is that turning off most of parameters (except anti aliasing and ambient occlusion) give me almost 0 FPS boost, i can play with all settings on max except anti aliasing and AO, and have about 6-9 FPS, and turning everything waaaay down gives me only about 3-4 FPS boost. The only thing that really helps (by giving about 15-25 FPS boost) is lowering down the resolution, but this way everything gets really blurry, and almost unplayable. So the question is, is the engine still so unoptimized, or there is some problem with my laptop? And is there a way to fix this, or I better wait 'till some performance patches? Thanks in advance. My Toshiba Satellite L855 specs are: i7-3630QM 2.4GHz 6Gb RAM Radeon 7670m 2Gb 750GB Hitachi Travelstar 5K750 HDD all running on Win8 P.S. was playing BF3 on ultra, Crysis 2 almost on max settings, can run almost all modern games on med-high settings with perfect FPS. P.P.S sorry for loads of text and bad english :D

i7, 6gb ram, radeon 7670m, 11-19 fps in forest, 7-14 fps in towns (on all low/disabled settings, textures normal, resolution 1366x768), regardless of using those changes or not. Tho, changes made in .cfg files helped by boosting my fps by 2-4, yay... But somehow i played Battlefield 3 on ultra with 30+ fps, thanks for help anyways :(

I don't know, many people say bad things about Russians, but actually my first game was on Russian server, and the first guy that i met is now my DayZ buddy. I met about 20 people now, 3 of them tried to kill me, 1 actually did it, 1 was killed by me, others were friendly, with most of them i had a friendly chat and/or trade.

Hello. I am kinda new to DayZ, and wanted to ask, is there a way to pick up and put big weapons (such as M4) and/or other empty backpacks into my own backpack? I tried multiple times, and it did not work. Is it even possible? I think that an M4 could easily fit into the largest backpack.
