Seriously guys, I've been in and around Zelenegorsk for about a week now.. And I haven't met any other players.. The South-West of the map seems to be dead.. Everytime I logged in, the whole city was completely unlooted. Even the military buildings.. It didn't matter if I joined a 35/40 Server or a server with only 10 people on it.. There were absolutely no people around Zelenogorsk. Same thing with the military base southern of Zelenogorsk.. Plenty of free military loot.. Just for me. Don't know where to store all the ammo I found.. The reason I stayed there was because I wanted to find a Walkie Talkie. I thought they spawn in military buildings but I didn't find any. Then I read on the forums they would spawn in firestations. That's why I headed towards Cherno. On the way I stopped in balota at the airfield.. I spent about 5minutes there when I saw one player logging in in one of the barracks and another one running towards the hangars.. Why do you all gather around balota and elektro? That's stupid :-/ Makes the game boring.. Unfortunately I didn't find a WalkieTalkie in Cherno's firestation. Do they spawn on stable branch? Where do I get one? :( And who of you is frequently visiting Zelenogorsk? I can't be the only one who's gearing up there :D Situation on the east side of the map seems to be better I think. With Rify and the new city Svetlojarsk.. And the airfield next to it.. There's quite a lot traffic. But I want the players to be spreaded more around the map.

I play on hardcore server because I accidently joined a hardcore server once after I died and I was too lazy to change to a regular server again. And now I have some nice gear and got used to the first person view. That's why I keep playing on hardcore servers.

I don't exactly know the definition of a bandit (that's why I put it into "" in the title) but at least they weren't friendly at all. I was unarmed I was absolutely no threat for them. Indeed. Normally I die in a gunfight. That's why I usually try to avoid it, resp. I only shoot if I'm sure I will kill my enemies with the first shots. Furthermore it was the first time I shot with the SKS. I was lucky that my two enemies were even worse than me :D Otherwise I probably would be dead now.

Background story: After I had looted Lopatino I decided to visit the little area north-west of it with the train station and the construction under building. I walked a little bit next to the street behind some bushes and trees when I noticed two people standing in the street without any cover. One of them seemed to give the other one a blood bag or something like this. I put out my SKS to kill both of them since they had some nice loot as far as I could see. But then I changed my mind. I put away my SKS again and decided to walk towards them to ask them if they need help or anything like that. And that's where my little story begins: So I walked slowly towards them. I had no weapon in my hands. As I came nearer and they still were not noticing me, I tried to communicate with them. So I asked them if they need some help or stuff like bandages. That's when I finally got their attention. Immediately both of them put out their mosins. One was aiming at me while the other guy ran towards me screaming "PRESS F2 PRESS F2 OR I'LL SHOOT YOU!! STAND STILL! DON'T MOVE!". Of course I knew it was quite dangerous (maybe naive as well) to walk unarmed towards two silly people giving each other blood bags in the middle of the street. But hey I thought maybe they're friendly.. Maybe I'm lucky.. But apparently they weren't. So I thought about what to do.. And as one guy was trying to handcuff me I saw my chance and I started running away. Both of them were shooting at me. Luckily they were the badest shooter I have ever met. Not a single bullet hit me. Well maybe it's difficult to hit someone running away in zigzag. But come on.. They were two guys with a mosin and at least one of them had a long range scope. I was so happy when I reached a very tiny forest.. I hid behind a tree and took my SKS into hands. As I saw them running after me I started shooting at them. Then they did the silliest thing I have ever seen.. As I shot in their direction they lay down on the ground.. They had no cover or anything.. In the middle of a wide open field they just went prone.. I was so confused.. I kept shooting in their direction. Then I used the little forest I was hiding to sneak around them. They still were lying on the ground shooting into the forest even I've already managed to get behind them... Don't know what they were shooting at.. It wasn't me... But well.. They got what they deserved. It was no big deal to kill both of them now. Sadly one body disappeared but I could loot one of them at least. And hell, they had tons of ammo. A very nice mosin.. A revolver and a fnx45.. And great clothing. I was lucky that his stuff was hardly ruined. What a great experience.. My heart was pumping so loud and hard.. I could hardly aim.. My hand was shaking as hell.. But I was so happy to survive. And their gear was it all worth it :D But I don't think I will ever be so naive to approach others unarmed again. Luckily those two bandits were the biggest noobs I have ever seen in DayZ :D

Oh man that's great :D I'm curious what would have happened if you killed yourself.. Would you have died synchronously with your clone? Somebody has to try this!!

I was on the way to Elektro when I had this strange graphic bug. I've never had this bug before.. Even though I've walked this way to Elektro several times before. Maybe it was my first and my last encounter with the giant moving tree of Elektro :lol: Has anyone seen a similar bug in the standalone? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dqiAc3O3Ds&feature=youtu.be

After respawning, looting and dieing over and over again, DayZ became quite boring to me so I decided to change the way I'm playing this game: When I spawn, I try to find a Mosin and some ammo as fast as possible. After that I immediately head north to a bigger city, where many people are coming by (e.g. Stary Sobor). I camp outside the city and wait for another player to appear. When I spot someone, I try stalking them for a while without being discovered. I just watch them going through the city, looting the houses, fighting the zeds. It's very hard to follow somebody without being seen. And of course you always have to watch your own back, too. When it seems like the target feels too safe, I put out my Mosin and shoot him into his legs or at least in his direction. I don't kill them. It's just hilarious how they get scared and start running away :D Sometimes I also try to imitate the sound of a zed to confuse them. Ah and I'm also taking all the can openers I can find :D When I'm tired of stalking others I will go to the coast and drop all the can openers in some village. I think it will be funny for a freshspawn finding 20 can openers at one place ;) Now I'm wondering whether there is anyone who plays like this, too? What do you think about this playstyle? Maybe it's a little bit weird. And, If anyone of you has been shot into his legs today near Stary Sobor, I'm sorry. ^_^

Since the new update (0.30.113933) has been released, from time to time I'm teleporting about 2-3m from my current location. I've just died when I was teleported outside a house while going upstairs. It was quite annoying. I stared at the death screen for almost five minutes :lol: Is someone dealing with the same issue and knows a way how to fix it?

After dying in a little gunfight this morning, I changed some of the video settings and just spawned in Novy Sobor, I think, when I was attacked by an invisible zed (see video below). Furthermore there was absolutely no loot in Novy anymore. At first I thought maybe the server has some problems or something like that so after the invisible zed has punched me uncounscious I changed the server. On the new server I spawned at the coast and I immediately headed north and came to a tiny village which seemed to be untouched (all doors were closed). I went through the houses but there was no loot at all. No helmets, no food, nothing to drink, ... Absolutely nothing... I'm wondering now.. Is this a bug because of the new update or is it just because I've changed the video settings? Anyone got some idea? I don't know what I've exactly modified in the settings so I can't simply redo everything. http://youtu.be/gZDBPMo-cxA

After I saw some videos of freshspawns punching fully geared people unconscious with their fists and then stealing their gear, I would definitely shoot you, too, if you would not go away after I told you so.

I really do not understand why there are so many people complaining about KOS. According to Steam I've played Dayz for 54hours. I've died at least five times but I've never been killed on sight. Neither as a freshspawn nor later in game when I was fully equipped. Basically every time I died it was my own fault because I acted like a noob :D If you are being killed on sight so often it seems to me that you are doing something horribly wrong. Spot them before you get spotted. Always watch your environment. Don't trust anybody. Always have the upper hand. That's how youl will survive, that's how you avoid KOSing. But that does not mean that you can't have some nice conversations with other people. But don't be silly and just run naively into other people.. You never know what they are going to do.

I wasn't able to pick up the map lying on top of the cupboard (see pic below). I tried really hard but neither I could take the map via the character interface nor by hovering the mouse over it. Is that a known issue or was I just too dumb? :lol:

Imagine this situation: I'm completely healthy and I have just drank something and wasn't hungry at all. Then I spotted a Player with some backpack and a axe which wasn't equiped though. I followed him some time and in the right moment I attacked him with my axe from behind. I hit him at least two or three times before he started to run away. While following him I could hit him one more time and he was bleeding like hell. Suddenly he decided to stop running. I thought he gave up but he equipped his axe ran around me and hit me only one time and I lost consciousness :D So I'm wondering now how he did that. Does it make a difference which part of the body (head, legs, ...) I'm attacking with the axe or was it just luck?
