Changing your default clothing options only takes effect when you respawn. It doesn't cause your character to be wiped. The #1 reason for people getting character wiped repeatedly is frequent server hopping. If you're a constant, dirty server hopper then chances are high you may get wiped repeatedly. Other causes of character wipes: -Server not whitelisted to Public Hive -Server desync with Public Hive -Character desync with main database -Random bugs/glitches -Corrupted character data

Rocket (Dean Hall) mentioned a possibility of a console release of DayZ (more likely PS4 than Xbox) but...only...as a possibility. There have been no official announcements or even hints concerning the beginning of development of a console version of DayZ so...I wouldn't hold your breath.

I think there might have been an obscure fist script for the mod but I was actually just referring to how cliche it is to run around playing "eye of the tiger" while playing DayZ. Actually, Rocket has previously said zombies aren't meant to be the primary threat or point of the game. It's a sandbox survival game. You can't really tell people "You're playing it the wrong way."

This is the alpha of the Standalone. There is no building (camps/etc) yet, no cars (much less millions) and there are no ai bandits or bots, which is just silly regardless of whether you're talking about the mod or the SA. Let the new guys run in front of you? :P But seriously, larger group equals more visibility. Maybe split up and have one or two players scout ahead. If the whole group is running down the road, someone is probably going to shoot at you guys.

There are plenty of guides for new players (including one in my sig below) and I would also suggest playing on a low pop server to get yourself familiarized with the controls and gameplay. The best thing I would recommend as far as servers go, is to pick a server with low ping (below 100) and the number of players you feel comfortable playing with. If you jump right into a 40 player server you're probably going to die repeatedly but you can also have a lot of fun with it too.

The poll is too vague to really be meaningful. There are far more than the 4 scenarios that you describe.

If you haven't run around the streets of Kamyshovo or Elektro in underwear singing Harry Belafonte songs while dodging sniper fire and bandits who can't shoot anyone not moving in a straight line to save their lives...then you haven't lived. ...At least in my experience.

Probably either server admins whose Mom & Dad paid for their server and who just discovered the internet and the novelty of in-game VOIP or a player abusing a client/server exploit and doing the same thing.

A t-shirt with a DayZ logo on it would be cool and I think I would be okay with it, if it was something we could pick as part of default character customization but something that could still be both dropped and spawn as loot in-game. I don't really think there should be any real exclusives otherwise to me, it establishes a precedent we don't need in DayZ.

Not to mention wearing a gas mask should massively decrease your running stamina/ability.

Okay, so you can use online maps if you want. I don't know Chernarus 100% but I can find my way around pretty easily without a compass or map. A casual player who has actually done some exploring should become familiar with Chernarus in a week or two, depending on how much they play and explore. The maps serve a useful function, like the compass in the game. They are not absolutely necessary for more seasoned players but are still useful.

How is yelling that you're friendly and then trying to kill someone not cowardly as well? Works both ways.

You didn't even need to kill anyone in WarZ or even play the game at all to get banned. Their friendly mod team handed out insta-bans (and still does) to anyone who so much as posted, "This is a great game but I just have a couple suggestions..." and pretty much anything that wasn't, "This game is perfect!" followed by no further discussion. Dropping foreign third party DLLs into your game directory as OP says his friend did is definitely a no-brainer no-no.

What you're describing you have and say 7 of your friends also have (are you all contagious?) seems a lot less like motion sickness (since you also say you're a scuba diver and an airplane pilot but your only complaint seems to be first person video games) and a lot more like vertigo or what is sometimes referred to as "simulator sickness" although it seems pretty strange that 7 out of your 10 friends have it according to your previous post and you don't claim it effects you when you're scuba diving or piloting an airplane.
