If you go back to page 1 and pappy's first post, you'll see that's exactly what he was claiming, that Sacriel had himself got the alleged hacker banned from Steam, which is of course incorrect. At any rate, where exactly is this thread supposed to go? There was a hacker in Sacriel's twitch stream. Okay. The end.

Reading over several of the fanatical posts you have made in this thread, you seem to be massively confused on the differences between a VAC ban, server ban and cd key/game ban. Rocket and Bohemia Interactive do not issue VAC bans. Server admins can ban players from their servers and BI could ban your game key but only Steam/VAC can VAC-ban your Steam account.

Ah, well if that's true then I stand corrected. It's just that VAC is mostly limited to Valve games, except for a few. I think that might have to do with clipping issues. Since Zombies are already no-clipping through walls and floors sometimes they get stuck underground and I've been chased before by underground zombies.

DayZ isn't a Valve game so...no VAC.

The badmins and bad servers will quickly make a reputation for themselves just like they did in DayZ mod and they'll do the same things they did in DayZ mod. They'll kick/ban anyone who finds them/their camp, kills them/raids them/their friends and fellow badmins, they'll accuse them of hacking because there's like no way anyone could have found their camp or shot them with a gun in a million, bejillion years despite the fact they're camping the same old camp spots, they'll give admin status to any moron who donates a dollar and just generally abuse their power and they'll do it on both public and private server/hives and they'll use their power to horde all the best gear then go to other servers to abuse newspawns and laugh but then rage and qq when they come across other players and badmins doing the exact same thing. Anyone who points out how shitty their server is will be responded to with abuse, profanity, "l2p", "I'm (my daddy is) paying for it and I can do whatever I want!" and will be banned if they weren't already and they'll make it explicitly obvious what servers to avoid. The good servers and the goodmins will rise to the top and a lot of the bad ones will eventually go away because they've kicked and banned everyone and no one wants to donate to their server for some reason. I just gave you all a glimpse into the future of the server forums with like...uh...my psychic powers. :P

After you set your default character, you have to click on the save as default for it to take effect...but it won't take effect until your next respawn.

Sounds like your character needs some anti-depressants. :P

I played on a Battlefield Heroes server once (yes, a terrible game) and this 13 year old who had been badmin'ing for 6 months straight finally lost his server and a month's deposit and on the official game forums said, "I don't care, my dad will just buy me another one." ...and got himself blacklisted by the EA mods too. There is no respawn timer. You can respawn immediately if you're unconscious (soon to be dead) or already plain dead. I compiled a beginner's guide for the DayZ SA Alpha specifically, linked in my sig below that may answer some other questions you have.

Yeah, ^^ that's why I was asking if they had released some official figures because that doesn't seem to jive quite right. Not that I don't want more players. The more, the better.

I don't want to be a mood killer but I agree with SquirrelX. Rocket said it would probably be more than a year until this game hits Beta. Rocket already said the issue of combat logging would be addressed with a logout timer/cooldown before the Alpha was even released.

It's a flaw that they're camping near the coast for new players with M4s and military gear...making them vulnerable to being killed by new players with their bare fists?

Rocket addressed the issue of combat logging and how they would deal with it (timer/cooldown) before the Alpha was even released. I think a good example is Planetside 2, a MMOFPS. If you logout/dc and have taken damage within the last 8 seconds, the last damage source is credited with your kill. Being damaged resets that 8 second timer.

Yeah, having to deal with zombie hordes like in DayZ Mod (which is something they're working on) but in pitch black DayZ SA would make it almost pointless to play on a moonless night. I like the immersion but I think they're going to need to work on balancing it a little.

A light attachment for the pistol like they have for the M4 would be nice.

You're not the only person who has posted about this. Seeing as this is an alpha (I know, that's just an excuse right? Well...a pretty valid excuse...) you may want to give the devs more than 6 days to fix what you feel is a number one top priority issue. I realize that a lot of players want loot spawns fixed, want more loot, want weapons fixed, want zombies fixed, want everything fixed, want all the features from DayZ mod implemented ASAP but there is a lot of work that has to be done not just gameplay issues like these but a lot of stuff that's under the hood and behind the scenes and you can't expect all weapon tweaking to be done in a week because it's ruining your gameplay.

People can argue that "they're paying for them" so they should be able to do what they want but the truth is they're "renting" those servers from server hosts and those sever hosts have very specific rules about server locking which is exactly what they're doing by kicking everyone.

Yeah, as long as it's separate from the DayZ public hive then if someone wants to play World of Tanks for as much sense as that makes in DayZ then let them have at it.

Well, I don't want to sound over-obvious but you could just play some music in the background. The game itself doesn't need music, especially when there is already pretty overpowering wind blowing/random things creaking/etc. ambient sounds in the game.
