This guy ^^ Don't listen to him. You need to have someone make you a super cool YOUTUBE INTRO that is at least half as long as your entire video. That's the way to do it. If there's one thing everyone loves it's 30 seconds to a full minute of default after-effects pizazz.

There's no special distinction. It's the exact same thing as combat logging, regardless of whether you have seen the player, been shot at it, etc. It's still plain ole' combat logging.

If people can't be bothered to use the feedback/bug tracker, do a basic search for common and well-known issues or even bother to notice the 5 threads about the exact same thing that have all been posted within the last hour then...it's not gonna happen.

Only when you are prepared to lose everything...can you truly begin to play DayZ. Once you know what it is to have nothing...only then can you gain everything. Living in constant fear...is not living at all. Embrace loss and death for gear doesn't make the player. The player...makes the player. Now go forth my child...AND PLAY.

Oh yeah, definitely you can't just install DayZ and automatically expect to be as good as someone like Frankie. I mean, that guy has been hit repeatedly by zombies, shot repeatedly and even blown up...with dead bodies of other players scattered around him who were further away from the explosion than he was...and all without losing a single drop of blood. That's definitely SKILL . Hell, Frankie should teach Dean Hall how to play DayZ.

Yeah, I'm frickin' sick of coasties and newspawns too. Now, whenever I come across them I just do messed up shit like this:

This guy is a joke. He keeps saying it doesn't matter that DayZ is an Alpha, because he reviews games based on their current content. And yet, here's a comment he made about Rust: "I was not prepared to make the call this early into the development, I thought it would be better to just show the + & - at the moment" So, Rust which is an Alpha gets a pass but DayZ is "shit" and "awful." I'm sensing "just a tad" bit of...dare I say...hypocrisy? He repeatedly complains about the controls (I'm not saying they're perfect) and says, "The controls are shit, they're awful" but doesn't explain what he's talking about. He just complains about mouse acceleration. Some people may have issues with that but I've got a 1600DPI mouse, it ain't exactly top of the line but I haven't had these issues. I think perhaps he's having more issues with the fact that DayZ is more than just your standard WASD/12345/Ctrl/Shift game. Not to mention in most of the video he runs around with his hands raised/weapon raised apparently unaware that it slows you down. And he says, "Don't take my word for it" and that his friends on Steam have only played the game for 1-2 hours which "says everything" apparently. I'm somewhat doubtful this guy even spent an hour himself playing DayZ. Wow...it definitely sounds like he knows what he's talking about. Hell, I'm sold! I definitely don't need to hear from anyone that has ACTUALLY PLAYED THE GAME for more than 1-2 hours.

Okay, well...I would think you could have figured this out yourself but don't just join random groups in-game. There are clans and group that advertise on the forums and on Steam for player groups, with Teamspeak/Mumble/etc. too. Join one of those groups and it will be exponentially less likely that you get randomly shot by people in your group.

Do you have separate user accounts or are you both sharing the default admin account? Because, I believe if you use two user accounts, that would probably solve your problems. I know a majority of people do it but I would also advise against using the admin account for everything, and creating normal user accounts instead anyway.

Then it doesn't seem like you're familiar with Rocket's design philosophy. Rocket doesn't want DayZ to be easier and some kids crying about how they're not getting a pile of guns and jetpacks when they spawn isn't going to change that. In fact, if you've been following the patches/updates it's been getting harder and the majority of the playerbase not only expects it to be hard but wants it to be hard.

These are all things people have bitched about in the mod. Was the mod ruined?

If you're lost, find a town, find the main road and on the outside of the town you should see some signs...that tell you what town you're in. If you keep getting lost and running around in circles and that's too game-breaking for you, then just look at an online map. http://www.dayzdb.com/map Look at the road sign. Look at the map. Now decide which way you want to go. You can open canned food with a Fireaxe so either You're Doing it Wrong or you're experiencing a bug. All servers are not set to night. I just played on two servers that were morning/afternoon so...nope. When you get more familiar with the game and the map, you will get more accustomed to playing at night as well. Applying rags isn't a magic cure-all. You still have blood loss, which can make you prone to falling unconscious or...dying. You may also get infected. In fact, there's a whole plethora of status conditions. Rags/Bandages don't always work for heavy bleeding as well. If you move while heavily wounded the rags/bandage may fall off. Obviously, as has been pointed out already the game is in Alpha. You are going to experience varying degrees of bugs and other issues from time to time.

Edit: Normally, I would provide a more helpful response but since the thread title is "DayZ is shitty now" and the OP ^^ isn't much better then I'm inclined to simply point out: WARNING: THIS GAME IS EARLY ACCESS ALPHA. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE IT UNLESS YOU WANT TO ACTIVELY SUPPORT DEVELOPMENT OF THE GAME AND ARE PREPARED TO HANDLE WITH SERIOUS ISSUES AND POSSIBLE INTERRUPTIONS OF GAME FUNCTIONING.

This is along the lines of those bugs and service interruptions warned about on the game's disclaimer...the one right at the top of the game description. The devs are aware of the issues. Hashtag it gets better. :P

My thoughts @ the reviewer: If you're gonna trash DayZ, fine. But if you're then gonna say WarZ is better in the same breath, a game Steam had to pull from their digital shelves because it was so bad...no one is going to take you seriously. You should know DayZ doesn't use the Arma 2 engine, it doesn't use the Arma 3 engine. It actually uses a custom engine which combines parts of both the Arma 2 and Arma 3 engine. If you read the disclaimer on the product page for DayZ, the game's creator Dean Hall actually discourages people from buying it, unless you truly understand what the term "Alpha" means and are prepared to deal with bugs and service interruptions. That said, DayZ is currently up to over 1.1 million sales. Must be doing something right. The problem is a lot of people don't understand what an Alpha is. People who complain about, "My character got wiped!" or "I died because of this bug!"...no, the Alpha is not for you. A lot of people have also bought into the hype (well deserved hype!) but don't know crap about DayZ. They start playing DayZ expecting it to be like their Call of Duty twitch shooter games and then start the waterworks once they realize DayZ is not the typical FPS epeening-fest that they're used to and complain, "There's no water anywhere!" (lol, there is plenty) There are plenty of gameplay videos, reviews, Let's Play, etc. by people that have actually played the game for more than a couple hours that go into great detail about both the good and the bad so there is more than enough information to decide if DayZ is for you before you buy it. And unlike WarZ/Infestation, you won't get permabanned from the forums/game for complaining about issues with the game much less daring to suggest it's anything but perfect. 

Newegg sells a Gateway for $500 with a 3.7GHZ quad core/1TB hdd/8GB ram and a high end integrated GPU, it's still an integrated GPU but just slap your own GPU in their, and there ya go. Personally, I wouldn't go with Gateway but that's just an example. Computers are getting better and the costs are going down.

What graphic issues exactly? And just because you spent 1900 bux on it, doesn't mean you don't have a problem with your GPU.

A good video card is going to cost you more than a 100 bucks for a decent 2GB card. If you want to go on the cheap, I would check out some HP Pavilion desktops which are actually pretty decent, you can get a quad-core for like 4 or 500 bucks or so, then just get some extra memory for it and drop in a new GPU. That's if you don't want to make your own PC from scratch. .
