How much better is EA doing with BF4 and all of their previous games with all of their gajillions of super dollars? I'll give you a hint. There are still numerous hacks for BF4 that can safely claim the status of "undetected." The bans have already begun to flow in DayZ. It's working. It's not perfect. It's never going to be perfect. It's an online game.

So people getting kicked and banned by Battleeye are hackers?
ninjacalypse replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
It looks like double jeopardy is just now starting to kick in from both BattlEye and VAC. -

Also, if they want to be really realistic, with the whole "you spilled some" thing...I can post a video proving you can eat food off the floor/ground. Related: -
Butthurt cheaters are already crying about being banned on these forums, the Steam forums/discussion and their game hacking forums. Delicious.

Upgrading from Basic to Supporters Edition?

Woops, mixed it up with pounds. It's 60 Euros actually, which is about 80 USD. -
Upgrading from Basic to Supporters Edition?
ninjacalypse replied to Lmaso99's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Edit: mixed up euros/pounds That's 50 more bucks over the original game price for the Arma 2 Complete Collection and access to a special forum when the game comes out...which I can already see... I paid 100 bucks for this game and feature/thing I want hasn't been fixed yet! Personally, I would spend that on extra copies of DayZ instead. -
20 Plus Million Dollars Later...

I wouldn't exactly call The Division an obvious competitor. According to the game's developer: "But when it comes to having to drink water and eat food to be able to survive, that's not really what we want from it. Food and water will be a very important part of the game, but players will not need to eat and drink to stay alive." So...food and water are important...but you don't need them...what? And they're calling it an open world shooter RPG with survival elements. Oh...and it's third person only and very auto-cover centric. If you take a deeper look at it the similarities are glancing only. -
20 Plus Million Dollars Later...
ninjacalypse replied to Hero of Suburbia's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, basically. There are a bunch of players who bought the game purely based on the (deserved) hype, didn't read the disclaimer or didn't understand the disclaimer and think $30 entitles them to dictate Rocket's every waking moment and figure because DayZ has made millions of dollars that means that suddenly the game should be magically finished over a year ahead of schedule because money means people can suddenly work 24/7. -
20 Plus Million Dollars Later...
ninjacalypse replied to Hero of Suburbia's topic in General Discussion
Yeah Steam Workshop for DayZ would be great but...uh...which competitors? Warz/Infestation or Nether? Nope. Imitators try it but the fans don't buy it...as I would say is evidenced by the sales figures. There are tons of survival/zombie games out there, which is fine but DayZ fills a very specific niche and they're obviously doing something right. -
So people getting kicked and banned by Battleeye are hackers?
ninjacalypse replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
He has 2 VAC bans on record. What a shocker. Actually, there are lots of hacks for the "****ing standalone." If you were globally banned from Arma 2 which uses BattlEye, you should know that DayZ also uses BattlEye...and VAC. And you have a VAC ban on your Steam account as well. So...you're not gonna be able to play DayZ unless you create another Steam account and buy another copy of it. Your Steam profile and your VAC ban: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198040930484 -
Invisibility was a known hack for the DayZ mod. It's possible. It could just be a bug too. I think I saw my guy glitch once where my arms and legs temporarily weren't rendering.

Try vaulting out or if you can low crawl, crouch walk your way outside the house. Try to get as far outside the house geometry as you can then exit and relogin. If you do it right, the server should correct your position when it sets you back in the world. This usually works but it takes a little finagling.

DayZ is NOT fun for new players, which makes me worried.
ninjacalypse replied to Murakamo's topic in General Discussion
DayZ really isn't as hardcore as some players make it out to be though. You want to play a really hardcore game? Try playing NetHack without reading the spoilers. Heck, read the spoilers even. DayZ is just different. A lot of players aren't used to that. They're used to their mainstream FPS twitch shooters. Games like Call of Duty are basically what I would refer to as "arcade shooters." It's the difference between playing Need for Speed (arcade racing) and playing a game like F1. (simulation racing) The thing with DayZ is a lot of people have bought it based solely on the hype (which is deserved of course) but have no experience with the mod and the only thing they knew about the game before they bought it was open world FPS with zombies...and DayZ is of course a lot more than that. -
So people getting kicked and banned by Battleeye are hackers?
ninjacalypse replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
Yes, there are known hacks for DayZ SA. The DayZ team is fully aware of this and taking steps to address it. There are already many recent threads on known haxxor forums where players are crying about being banzzored. Customer support on those sites that publish game hacks consists of other hackers laughing at you for getting banned. -

First off, let me preface by saying I'm Chaotic Neutral for the most part. Some forum users may have a bit more of a "deal with it" attitude but as long as there is no private server hive, then rules like "No Kos" or "PVE only" cannot be enforced without breaking the rules set forth by the DayZ staff that apply to all server operators. Just because they are renting a server for DayZ doesn't mean they can do whatever they want. Not on the public hive. If you have a problem with that, take that up with the DayZ staff. If the DayZ team releases a private server hive, then they can set all the arbitrary rules they want within the allowed rules. Telling new players to play on "friendly" or "no kos" servers is in my opinion terrible advice. I'm pretty sure that in some cases, these servers are named "friendly" as an ironic gimmick. Regardless and whether you like it or not, they're instant magnets for fully geared players to come and troll newspawns. It would be far better advice, to direct new players to lower pop servers and avoid large cities and popular combat hubs like Cherno, Elektro and Balota.

Battleye... I'm thinking it's not good
ninjacalypse replied to InvisiMan2013's topic in General Discussion
No line of sight to any buildings where a shooter could have been, you say? I don't suppose you noticed that big ole' hospital as you were standing right up peering out a window and looking straight at it? -
There was a very clearly written description on the product page that stated the following: (excerpt) PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE IT UNLESS YOU WANT TO ACTIVELY SUPPORT DEVELOPMENT OF THE GAME AND BE PREPARED TO HANDLE WITH SERIOUS ISSUES AND POSSIBLE INTERRUPTIONS OF GAME MALFUNCTIONING. That said, if you have a problem with service interruptions, constant crashing (which isn't actually a problem with DayZ right now), bugs, glitches, problems running the game due to PC performance, having DLC constantly shoved in your face (not a DayZ issue), hackers, hackers and more hackers, etc. then you may want to do a little research on Battlefield 4's current problems.

There is no such thing as "friendly" servers. In fact, I'm pretty sure that some of those servers are named "friendly", "no kos", etc. just as an ironic gimmick to attract new players. An admin can name their server "no kos" or "PVE" but they cannot enforce that by kicking players who don't comply on a public server without breaking the rules and ToS they agreed to as a server operator, that were set forth by the DayZ staff. If they have a problem with that because "I'm paying for it." then they should take that up with the DayZ staff. I'm reading some sarcasm here. There is no official manual as you claim, that states you should KoS other players for fun. But there is also no official manual that states you shouldn't. As long as players aren't hacking or abusing exploits, anything is fair play.

To be honest, in a game like DayZ less is more but yes, the dev team is working on adding a lot more items including weapons as the development progresses.

Trying to find a server not ruined by bandits.
ninjacalypse replied to Arciere's topic in New Player Discussion
Well...it depends. For the most part avoiding direct routes, roads, intersections and the shore is good advice but to be honest I actually ran straight through Elektro on a full server running down the coast the entire way. Other players were all over the city but I don't think a whole lot were on the lookout for anyone skimming the coastline and bypassing the city almost entirely. -
I Combat Logged :( Burn Me At The Stake, With Taters
ninjacalypse replied to King of kong's topic in General Discussion
You're a self-professed bandit too though aren't you? Is it possible you were at Green Mountain and doing a little camping yourself? Regardless, Rocket has already talked about fixing the issue with combat loggers before the Alpha was actually released. It's an easy fix that will find its way into the game sooner or later. To be honest though, people who complain about combat loggers and server hoppers "ruining" their game, don't really get the point of Alpha. The dev team is fully aware of it and it will be addressed. -
Is there really a chance dayz might be coming to ps4
ninjacalypse replied to MightyMystic's topic in General Discussion
Rocket mentioned it as a possibility but there has been no official announcement. If you're holding off on purchasing DayZ and waiting for it to come to PS4, I wouldn't hold your breath. Rocket said the PC version of DayZ won't be ready for official release for over a year from now. -

Before you go yelling "HAXXORS!" you may want to not stand up peering right through a window facing a Hospital...FULL OF WINDOWS. Just saying. -

The mod was/is great but this is some carebear crap that the DayZ SA doesn't need.
