Eh, welcome to DayZ? Cherno and Elektro will both have bandits sitting waiting to pop fresh spawns simply for the lulz. Just raid the other coastals and get inland.

It has periods of highs and lows I believe. I had a month break because I became bored with it end-game. Few mates of mine started playing so I returned and it's a whole new level of things to do. Mostly banditry and shenanigans. Dogs in 1.7.3 and probably more things comming to give us insight as much as possible on stand-alone, people will come back, and people will go as well. It's all cycles.

G'Day All, I wasn't able to sleep so I jumped on an Australian server with a fresh character to meet up with some mates for tomorrow. I broke my leg on a door and headed to the hospital in Elektro, for whatever reason I stood right up and started dancing. I immediately quit - hacker for sure. Joined another server (empty), smashed through the glass and found some morphine. To my surprise some antibiotics as well (a first), then in the corner of my eye an AS50 and 3 mags. Yes, in the hospital. I thought that perhaps someone left it there and continued to loot the town. Heading towards the office near the hospital, it sounded like a maggotfest of flies. Dead bodies everywhere containing loot galore (needless to say I am fully equipped now). Headed out of the town to find multiple bicycles with busted tyres and hull so they weren't going anywhere. I presume an Australian/NZ based hacker was going through killing everyone? Thunderdomed them in the office, twiddled with drop rates and had some fun with bicycles and left a "HI! :)" in marks on my map. And here I thought it was my lucky day - guess it was considering he didn't get me on either server and I looted some decent items from some unlucky dead people. tl;dr: Everyone on server I joined was previously thunderdomed in Elektro, great loot up, AS50 in hospital.

Unfortunately I was hacked tonight, ended up in the air falling to my death. It was pitch black wilderness so no chance of returning to my corpse. Oh well, easy come, easy go.

Agree. I've seen too many great ideas get dumbed down and simplified because it was going to be on console as well. There simply isn't enough buttons on the remote for consoles to take advantage of the controls for DayZ. I only own the PS3 because I wanted a value for money Blu-Ray player. Any games I buy for it are for the mrs.

G17 no doubt. Depending where you look ammo is quite common, inbuilt flashlight, and high mag count. Most experienced people know 1 shot kills to the head and to limit locational echo. Additionally, it is bloody quiet I've found recently giving a good incentive to upgrade from starter pistols to the higher teir ones.

Oh sorry OP I forgot that you bought the DayZ mod. Wait...you didn't? Gosh that means the DayZ dev team don't need to anything. It's an alpha, you've admitted that, go take a chill pill and realise you are a tester, not a gamer of DayZ.

Consoles are never better than PC hardware. Consoles are extremely compatible with it's own set and specific generic hardware - but they've never been more powerful than the mediocre available hardware for PC.

As others have said it is a bug. I actually experienced the NV switching off on me in the middle of the night rendering the scope useless.

May have just been a glitch for you. Dev team are always confirming that players who pick up or use hacked items will suffer no concequences. Why retain the CZ50 though? Two sniper rifles is a bit redundant unless the thermal scope is bugging you I suppose. Might be prudent to get yourself a silenced M4A1 if you can find one or some sort of assault rifle for mid-CQC.

There does seem to be a bit of a bug when changing skin or upgrading backpack.

I think I understand what you are saying, in a long way of saying it, the learning curve is difficult for new people? Yes, it is, because it is a new experience for people. The majority of people have been playing for a few months and know their way around buildings, zombies and towns. Where to avoid and what to try for. Ultimately you get experience, and refer to my sig for insight on that.

Found 3 in fields next to each other NW of Stary Sobor the other night with my crew. Same crew the next night searching all the different known locations and nothing. I think it all comes down to luck and perhaps other people searching for them as well.

I believe the next patch will be 1.7.3 with dogs, this was posted in the forums and the last line (http://i.imgur.com/xAvdf.jpg) indicates a probability of inclusion for female bandit skin. Please, like fixing the graphics issue is going to prevent people from getting WarZ. Even I'm getting it and hoping for beta key end of Winter/Summer (depending where you are). If WarZ fails miserably or becomes boring for me I will return. IMO it sounds like they're beta testing in alpha, and releasing a beta with ongoing updates to outdo and rake in on some DayZ success and hype. When DayZ retails is released, I'll get that too. But either way, WarZ is worth a look.

Oh dear. Was I way off, I predicted this would be a PC only thing if Bohemia Interactive was at the wheel. I guess not. Definitely extra profit without a doubt. My concern however is that of late game developers focus solely on the console market for programming their game, and PC is simply an after thought of port profit which shows. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier was released fundamentally broken, no aspect of the game functioned on PC whether singleplayer or multiplayer. It took them a month and a half to release a patch to resolve the issues - when released (beginning of this week) it still does not resolve issues for most PC users, nor does it include windows XP compatability (when the box indicates XP or higher). Now granted Rocket and team know that DayZ made it's name off Arma 2, their hard work and the PC community. So I have no doubt that Rocket won't abandon the community. But I have seen so many gaming developers go offtrack once the bucks started to flow in and the shareholders made the decisions rather than the gaming concept and ideas.

I imagine not. There were issues with ghillie/camo skins for them also. Something to do with base Arma 2 and the way DayZ coded reskinning your character (ie: lose all your stats because you basically spawn as a fresh character with a new look)

If you haven't got a friend to locate a boat and come to pick you up. You're up duff creek, you will lose your pack from the swim and what was inside it. I'm not 100% sure if you lose inventory. Not to mention by the time you've made it to mainland you will be temp flashing and within a few minutes probably infected and sneezing.
