  1. Thank goodness Rocket, I was concerned for a moment that you had gone overboard with realism. Looking forward to the update.
  2. Effectively means you're dead if you encounter a zombie. 4 times now the next hit at 8000 blood or lower means insta death from the next hit it's a 100% chance knockout, then they kill you with a 3 minute uncon timer.

    12k blood, 1st hit from a zombie knocked me out. Whats the deal guys? This latest patch has made zombies god.

  5. I checked the DayZ loot sheet and it has no indication of FAL mags anywhere. So there is either a good chance that it will drop for you when you trigger loot approaching barracks/hangers or it only spawns at crash sites from other FAL drops. When I found a crach site I was lucky enough to find a M14 AIM which uses DMG ammo.

    To easy to be detected by zombies?

    Doesn't seem very survival like when stealth is a waste of time because of broken stealth/AI mechanics. I wanted it to be a bit more realistic, but these zombies have bloody night vision and/or the best hearing devices in the world, it's way, way, way too difficult. Spent the better part of today learning and relearning, but it's all way too random to precisely tell what the heck is going on.
  7. Agree. The system is flawed now. Even at night time the ability for zeds to aggro onto you is ridiculous. I was inside a building after logging back in this evening took one step and boom, 10 zeds straight into the building. I dont understand how that works when LOS is meant to play a part in the zed AI? I think Rocket and team are expecting too much from a 5+ year old AI game. It's not working and needs to revert. I can't shake them, I can't shoot them because I don't have a gun. The only options left for me are to run until I die from food/water exhaustion or log out and log back in. It's not a learning curve of, ok I did that wrong. It's literally a random thing each time that you can't track. Whether it be aggro through a wall, tree or some random broken LOS thing, we just don't have a chance or 'stealthing'. I knew this would happen, which is why I said in the 'no start gun' thread that rocket made, yes but only if the stealth system works perfectly. Because if it didn't - it's going to be way to hard. It is, because the stealth system isn't working for many players (and im not a noob player, I dont run into a town expecting not to aggro zeds. I used the tactic ive been using for the better part of a month. adapted to new tactics seeing as crouch isnt even an option anymore, and even prone is no good). The other changes sure fine and dandy, but zed AI needs the revert, and the stealth system needs attention or to be dropped, because it just isnt working.

    I've spawned, moved 1 step, and aggrod zeds. +1 for zombie behaviour and stealth system revert.
  9. It's certainly made the gap greater between geared and ungeared players. I'm still struggling with the random zombie behaviour to survive long enough to locate weapons and supplies.
  10. Well right there you've missed 90% of the issue. Most players cannot survive long enough to locate weapons capable of disposing zombies inside a building. I've played at night time thus far, and it is ridiculous how easily a zombie will aggro on you when you have zero sound and visibility indicative. It's not like I'm bumping into them, I'm probably around 10-15m away from them - out of necessity because the patterns they roam around cause tight packs. Cant always go around them because they seem to spawn once you are in a town. So getting out is difficult. I can't successfully LOS or stealth away from them, unless there is a building with two exits. Even then a stragler will always continue to follow me. I had a stragler follow me from Kamenka to Balota airfield and I had no idea he was following me because it was a hopper. So consider I had probably more broken LOS on him than anything - why didn't it give up the chase? Leading me to the next one, the stealth/LOS/wall fix system hasn't. I still get spotted through buildings and walls, hit through walls, zombies still port into buildings. Ultimately the game is way too difficult, the learning curve for a fresh player is too much. Most games will increase with difficulty the further you progress, but from the outset this is just too much. I've played for about a month now, and the zed changes in the past 2-3 patches are just progressively getting worse. I've gone through 4 characters this afternoon and the only way I can successfully lose aggro would be to abort and relog. Perhaps that why this feature was reverted? Don't know. Being that so many people are dying from such random zed aggro, the coastal towns are short of weapons and supplies. I hit Balota airfield to find nothing but a flashlight and the remainder tin cans - whether I was unlucky or not, can't tell. But considering I've tried with 4 different characters, it's a bit :/ The stealth system needs some further refinement as priority. Because this has gone from immersive with learning curves and learning from mistakes, to just plain "WTF?". I'll wait for .5 and hope it returns to it's former glory.

    That's an alpha in a nutshell mate. Rocket and his team are going to add shit, remove shit and generally break shit before the polished and rough experience is reached. Then it will become the beta to further refine the edges and smooth it ready for retail.
  12. I'm presuming that because they chose to include wire and sandbags it is an intended part of the game. So if you don't want to find a toolbox or move to another building/town, find a different server. I reckon it's just noobs doing it on purpose, unless it's NWA in which case it would be self explanatory.

    Yea I agree with OP. Zombies are a bit unfair in their current state. I don't understand how when I'm walking crouched with no sound and no visibility, a zombie will aggro immediately from 20m away. First of all, you want me to not see the zed - ok I'll play like that. I'll play in pitch black, but make it fair, zeds shouldnt be able to detect me and continue to chase me down in the pitch black when I still cant even see them. For all fairness it should be if you bump into a zed in the pitch black, then theyll aggro. But if not, give us some limited visibility. Human eyes adjust to night quite well. I've gone caving where there is zero light at all underground and that is the pitch black I'm experiencing with DayZ. With stars/moon and even clouds we should still have some visibility. But if you want pitch black, then please fix the zombie aggro. Because it is ridiculous right now. PS. I'm fairly certain two spawned right in front of me this afternoon as well. I'll make a bug report for that.

    Everytime I visit barracks it's big risk and little reward. Always piles of tin cans and rubbish ammo like the machine gun stuff or makarov. I had to waste 2 clips of AK ammo to search the barracks safely because both times zeds aggrod on me from I've no idea. Shoot that one and the rest of the airfield comes running for the next 5 minutes. To not even regain that ammo back :/
  16. Kaspersky went ape when I tried to install it, I'll stick to manually downloading until the security is firmly wedged since the last time they hacked the files. Not that hard to do anyway.
  17. All the listed 1.7.1.2 servers are now displaying this message for me as well as of 10 minutes ago. Was playing 1.7.1.2 servers for most of today, was dicsonnected and then these issues have propped up as for others. Symtoms include no sound, no weapon abilities and a message that indicates as above. Thinking that perhaps there is a revert going on? Any info rocket & team?

    Flashlight: The symbol of peace.

    Sniper set himself up over looking Balota airfield and the MASH south of it. Must have cleaned up about 10-15 fresh players thanks to the flashlights we were using, pinged me and I just cbf using what limited start resources I had to scrape and survive, so stood up and let him finish me off to get a better starting zone. Wonder if these geared bandits will ever tire of killing fresh survs.
