    hi, I like the thermal scope but I agree that it has no place in post apocalyptic world like DayZ. I'm not a weapon expert but I guess this kind of equipment is rare, very expensive and maintenance is made by qualified personal. Moreover, I believe those scopes need batteries, a lot of batteries in order to work. You see a lot of players with L85 because of duping. Once it will be fixed those guns should be rarer. Maybe not remove thermal from the game but make them more binding use. With batteries and maintenance. cya. Nikiller.

    Standalone Poll: First Person Only?

    hi, I'm for the first person view only because it adds to the realism and tension. In other hand, that's good to let people play as they like. The actual server system (regular, veteran, expert) is good for that. Here's few hints if you want to be more confortable with first person view: - Manually increase your FOV to 80-90. tutorial - turn off the head bob in game option. main menu >> option >> game option >> head bob. - Learn to use the free look key (left Alt) - The best solution IMHO is to buy a track IR.     left handed player character

    hi, I'm fully left handed and I use the mouse with my left hand. I'm used to the right handed guns in games but it would be nice to have option. cya. Nikiller.

    Inventory UI concept design v2.1 (window based)

    hi, Good job. I really like the drag and drop system. IMHO, inventory is a bit complexe and not enough intuitive but it's a nice first try. Anyway, I think it is the right direction. One thing bother me, I cannot remove my clothes to roll me in the morning dew :( cya. Nikiller.

    hi, I think it's a good idea. If you are addicted to morphine a new icon in the HUD appears and works pretty much like food and drink. You need your morphine shot every X hours and if you don't you start shaking, your temperature drop, etc... cya. Nikiller.

    Better movement

    hi, Yea I agree they should think about better indoor movement system. I played ArmA2 MP with Shack mov for years and it is a very good client addon. I never understood why they never included it in the mod. cya. Nikiller.
  9. hi, Medieval armor would be tottaly unrealistic and make you kill in no time. It's noisy, heavy and shinny. Moreover how would you find a real medevial armor? I mean not a movie one. Maybe riot gear you could find on cops bodies. Something like this: http://upload.wikime...es_p1200789.jpg As SgtSnug allready mentionned real combat swords are very rare. But I think it would be cool to have few in the game :). cya. Nikiller.

    How are DayZ Custom maps made?

    hi, I think you should check the BIS wiki and the BIS forum and ask for help here. If you want to make a propper island it can take years before reaching the final version. It's not only some objects that are spammed around the maps by people :rolleyes:. cya. Nikiller.
  11. hi, With the mod as its current state the only two things left when you are fully geared is to help people or PvP. There's implicit rules like don't kill fresh spawns, afk players, medics but most people choose to PvP cya. Nikiller.
  12. hi, Yes it is fully possible with scripting. It could be done with those commands: addAction and attachTo To make it simple, when player have a dog and is near a vehicle who can support cargo, action appears in the player action menu, player can choose to order his dog to get in. If yes, the dog is attached to the passenger seat. cya. Nikiller.

  17. hi, It seems you spent a long time writing your post and I don't want to destroy your great idea. I'm not offended at all but I tried to explain you with facts that your idea is not possible. Even with just garbage imagine how will be a server where nobody is cleaning? Full of created objects who will slow down the server after a while and finally becomes unplayable for the client. That's why dead bodies are deleted after a certain amount of time. I know that TAKE ON HELICOPTERS engine can handle a bigger objects number than ArmA2 but there's a limit. And I'm just talking about the object creation not about the state changes over time who will require huge scripting managed by the server. If you delete the garbage after a certain amount of time or after each server restart then it is maybe technically possible but have it as a persistant objects I doubt it. cya. Nikiller.
  18. hi, I don't see how it is possible to increase performances. If we only count footprints, imagine 20 players on the server and each player move 500m, let's say 1000 foorprints, 20000 footprint! It means you have to createVehicle or createVehicleLocal 1000 objects everytime one player move 500m. With the actual ArmA scripting command it will put any server on knees in less than 10min and client will suffer horrible fps/lags. Forget it it's not possible. cya. Nikiller.

    More Emote Animations Please!

    hi, It could be a good idea if it was usefull gestures like military handsignal which are allready in the game then it would not need a lot of extra animation work. Dance, cry and stuff like that have no place in the game. It take at least one week to make a proper animation in ArmA2 then it will waste resources where it is really needed.     hi, It is surely the best way to have his hairs caught by a zombie. In a more subjective way It looks ugly. In "The Zombie Survival Guide" it is well explained why it is better to have short hairs. cya. Nikiller.

    hi, I think rocket mentionned in an interview that it will be a mix of walkers and runners. It depend on how long they have been infected. If they are rotten they walk slowly and if they have just been infected they run. Exactly like in the walking dead. cya. Nikiller.

    hi, That's a good suggestion but instead of wolves it should be dogs. After the contamination a lot of pets are left alone without food. The weakest will be eaten in the first days and the strongest will become wild, organize in horde and hunt. In appocalypse, starving pets will be a real threat. It would be nice to see wild dogs hunting in towns and forests. cya. Nikiller.
