One simply does not "beat" DayZ -
I've found 3 Mosin and I can never find ammo for them. The threat of having a gun is a big plus though, I have take people hostage on just the fact that I have a gun and I can "kill" you

I've been playing the game since lauch with nothing but night time, I've be came a pro to the night DayZ world and now enjoy the night. I have given up all hope on trying to play in a daytime server.

It's not that hard. Like said above avoid the coast when you first spanw just sprint forward. Loot a few buildings, the loot at coastal buildings ins't that good but it's still something. -
Don't get me wrong I enjoy playing at night as it's more realistic but I have about 15 hours logged on DayZ SA already and I haven't seen the game during the day once...
