What do you think would make a good Dayz theme song?

    Nothing beats this.
  2. Twixxer

    slow v3s

    Are you holding shift?
  3. Twixxer

    Will my PC run DayZ?

That processor is fine. I myself have a worse processor and I run at around 30 fps stable.

Clearing this up: DayZ is NOT years afterwards

What about the rusty cars? Don't say they could've been laying there for long time before outbreak, I'm talking about the ones crashed on side of roads and stuff. Some of them are completely rusted up. Surely it wasn't that rusty when it got crashed and left. If it was set few days after the outbreak, the loot would be everywhere since there wouldn't be many people to take it (remember, only zombie-immune people are players, so there aren't magical invisible NPC survivors who could've taken the loot) What about the airplane crashed into Chernogorsk Hotel? It's completely rusted up, it's clearly been laying there for at least a year. What about the huge, crashed ship? It clearly crashed due to the zombie outbreak, because if it didn't the containers and stuff wouldn't be laying around. And that ship is all broken and rusted up. Must've been sitting there for years. You should judge the time the developers are going for by looking at their new additions since the standalone came out, at those that weren't in the mod (such as the rusty cars, planes, ships etc). Just because there are a few unrealistic details such as fruit and veggies don't mean it's set few days after. Fruit and vegetables can be farmed even after outbreak.

    Adding cold weather/winter

You clearly haven't been playing Experimental.
  6. Would be better if you could modify the speed with scroll-wheel, like you could in Sniper Elite 1.
  7. Twixxer

Game would be fun if they had a smaller boundry

This game isn't supposed to be ''fun''. This game is supposed to make you paranoid. This game encourages fear. This game is unforgiving and doesn't hold your hand. This game is supposed to keep the ones looking for ''fun'' out. This is an apocalypse.

Status Report - Week of 06 Oct 14

This is one thing I'm kinda pissed about. I won't be surprised if the Derringer ends up having M1911's sound, since seems like the sound artist isn't doing anything. Same thing happened with Rossi Lever Action and the new shotgun, they were appearently ''passed over to add sounds'' and ended up having the default sounds of Revolver and double barreled shotgun. Lame.

Dayz SA not realistic at all.

They're in middle of roads, crashed in trees, etc. They werent there before.
  10. Well, Chernarus isn't New England, and most of the stuff are placeholders. If you want to judge how long after shit hit the fan the game is set, you must judge it by the new assets that developers are adding to already existing ArmA 2 world - in this case, car wrecks, new buildings and the shipwreck:

Sure, seems like these cars have been there for just a day or two. The fruit are just another unrealistic aspect, just like some other things. I think devs didn't think much when adding bananas and such. Potatoes, tomatoes, etc are understable, since they could be picked in a garden and left there by another survivor.
  12. The haybales were there ever since ArmA 2, they just haven't been changed, and they don't decay that fast, it takes up to 5 years. Soo, grass is supposed to be 2m high just because nobody would mow it? No, not really. Also the devs haven't got around to editing vegetation too much yet. How would the logs being in a neat pile hint to that shit hit the fan only recently? The roads are pretty cracked tbh, they changed them from the old ArmA roads which were more clean. Telegraphs and electricity lines wouldn't decay within couple of years. Maybe the blood-stains are supposed to be recent? Plus they don't just fade in thin air over time. The bodies could also be recently burried, but that doesn't necessarily mean the apocalypse started recently. Most of the rusty vehicle models are new, such as blue van, the beige van, the GAZ and volga variations aswell, and they're all rusty as hell - meaning that the devs clearly meant them to be laying in those spots for several years without maintence. Same goes for the crashed cargo-ship, it's all rusty - it hasn't just recently crashed there.

Trust me, I know how fast vegetation, plants and fruit grow, I used to live on a farm. This is a game afterall, and judging by the car wrecks being so rusty, it's definately not a week since shit hit a fan. More like couple years.

If you didn't understand, the game is set a while after the apocalypse had started and most of the supplies have been looted.
  15. Judging by the environment you say? What about the rusty cars that could've stood there for 10 years?
