THANK YOU for noticing, when i was like 15 i listened to this song like 1000 times playing the LOTR games that came out on the PS2. not to mention however many times i heard it in the fellowship movie. now somebody needs to comment on the metal gear theme. COME ON PEOPLE.

I was playing with a friend just now, providing cover with my mosin sniper while he planned to loot balota airfield. He killed two armed bandits at the airfield and I guess they had friends because during that firefight two snipers started firing at me. The two snipers and I got into a very long firefight during which i was sure I landed a few direct hits but did no damage. One of them even ended up server hopping to my building and I axed him to death as he loaded in, lol.... It was intense. I was determined to win, and was trying to keep the remaining sniper's attention while my friend moved up for the kill. Then the unthinkable happens........ From the airfield more than 600 yards away, the control tower to be specific, a barrage of bullets erupts. They were automatic, and one would assume they were from an M4 except there was one issue. THE BULLETS WERE GLOWING RED STREAKS OF LIGHT THROUGH THE AIR! Every bullet looked like a tracer bullet on steroids, and even though i was laying down behind the wall where i would not be visible, they were fired directly where I was laying. From my experience, at that distance an M4 shouldnt be able to fire a spread that tight at full auto. The bullets were all very accurate, with not much recoil effecting them. It could just be me freaking out, but they didnt even sound right. I've never seen an M4 do that! Is that something new added to the game or have I witnessed some ridiculous hacker ray gun laser beam cannon? Beware the space guns. Has anyone else been assaulted with space lasers? After I saw the space bullets I screamed at my friend that hackers were on the attack and we both immediately exited the game....but first I hid the server hopper's body. dick bag.

Today, my friend died, and i killed 3 players. Their bodies all disappeared within about 2 minutes of death. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

im not upset with the progression and i am still very entertained. Excited to find an sks. happy about them implementing fixes to certain exploits. they've always said that in game design, implementing one fix can cause another issue. I was just wondering if it was happening to other people.

so when he sits down, does a push up, does another push up, then crouches...thats the new patch code for "he just combat logged"? weird.

A clan of 4 guys in super looking matching outfits accosted me in the grocery store. I had two options. Become their captive and let them rummage through my belongings, possibly being the victim of sexual assault. Or die like a man, firing 7.62mm rifle rounds and taking lives. I chose the latter.

i mean if they had just attacked me two at one time instead of just sending one guy i wouldn't have stood a chance! if i was that guy i would be so mad that my team didn't back me up lol. i'm glad to learn that hip firing the mosin is so accurate, I won't aim down the sights in future close range encounters as i think it may have got me killed there

I weighed the options in my head before firing. I knew they might not have killed me, but I would much rather die fighting than lay down and let them take my stuff willingly. I would have been upset if i had decided to surrender and then died without a fight, much more worthwhile to have a fun firefight. Plus after the second kill i had about 3 seconds to think "what if i make it out alive? this will be so epic"

I don't keep track but my friend and I have killed quite a few, our play style has been to run up and down the coast hunting down the bandits who pick on helpless fresh spawns.

This is the most annoying thing that has been happening to me while playing. Randomly dying. It has happened 3 times. Once at NEAF on the control tower, once in cherno in the firestation, once at the office in the apartments outside cherno. AAAAAAAAAGHHHHH

Eh. I just don't feel like that's what happened or I wouldn't have posted it. I've logged a lot of hours in dayz mod and standalone. 120 in the standalone so far. I have been sniped at from all sorts of distances. If you're familiar with the area where I was, the tall apartment buildings outside of Cherno...then you know that the apartment buildings are surrounding me from all angles making a long range shot unlikely. I could imagine somebody being on the top of one of the tall buildings, but that would have put them close enough for me to hear. If it happens again I will record it again and we can debate it some more.

Hah. Well I do love my olive jungle boots. I know nothing of developing a game so I won't complain about the development schedule, and I understand that there will be bugs. Just wanted to share my misfortune with the community. Maybe more people talking about this particular bug will get it fixed faster.

I heard they were going to put a casino up there and all the players are going to go and gamble with Cherno-Bucks for tokens. After hitting the airfield for tokens you can go farther north and redeem them for custom player skins like a zoot suit or a private jet. They've already got empty plots of land that are obviously places where we will be able to redeem our tokens for prizes. I really can't wait.

Gas stations can be blown up.

My friend and I were exploring the Shipwreck on a dark server, making our way from Berezino to the northern part of the coast in hopes of exploring Svetlojarsk when I encountered a fearsome opponent whom i have come to call.........................................THE CREEPER. It was as I made my way to the upper level of the bow of the ship when I started to hear noises. After climbing a set of stairs I noticed that somebody had turned on a portable gas lamp...then I heard footsteps. I tried calling out to this person in hopes that he would make himself known, but was greeted only with silence. After pleading with THE CREEPER many times I decided that he had dastardly intentions, for if he was friendly he would have attempted to make peace with me. I was equipped with a mosin, but I only had 3 rounds in my inventory so I knew that I had to make my shots count. Furthermore, because of the spray-paint, I could only chamber 1 round into my mosin at a time. I decided it would be better to rely on my splitting axe. What follows is a long stand off that many may find boring, but to me was an intense moment in a dark and scary ass ship wreck. I came out alive, thankfully. Especially since they guy used some sort of exploit that allowed him to come back from the dead. The creeper is resourceful. In the video I used the term hacker but I realize that he is not. In the heat of the moment I just tend to use hacker as a blanket term for those who cheat in DayZ.

This guy was being very generous, but I'd just come off a frustrating death and saw this as an opportunity to quickly gear myself back up. I found it too difficult to resist when he said "do you have an axe?" Unfortunately I axed the wrong individual. Although i do concede to the fact that what i did was a dick move considering his generosity, I think that his behavior is worse in the scope of things. Cheats/exploits/hacks/whatever he did are the kind of thing that can ruin an online multiplayer game like DayZ. The behavior I exhibited is simply an aspect of the game that makes DayZ what it is. I did get owned though dammit, and it is pretty funny. Just don't lose sight of the seriousness of it. In order to get back to playing after being teleported to what I assume is the "debug zone" I had to let my character starve to death. Which meant leaving my computer sitting there playing dayz for a few hours since i wasnt hungry at all. ALSO with the latest patch my character on regular servers got rolled back a week, so guess what? Here I am back floating in the ocean. All in all I lost many hours of gameplay to this incident.

Alright. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion I guess. At the time I didn't know that you could spawn items into the game, if that is what he was indeed doing. From the time I was confronted by him I just wanted the mosin on his back, not the crappy loot he was dropping on the ground. In fact the only thing I took was a pair of cargo pants , which I have yet to find a way to terrorize people with. I was only just becoming curious where all these items were coming from towards the end of the conversation, but was more preoccupied with looking for an opening to take his life.

If i handcuffed him would he not have still teleported me to the ocean?

This is a serious issue, i get so pissed every time i lose 23% of my beans
