I think the dev team has a plan and even if people want more things added to the game, we can still see a glimpse of what is really important in the mind of the team: big maps, lots of loots lying around, alot of zombies, animals... Those things cannot be implanted if the servers are not stable. Give them some time. The biggest issue right now is the server. Once it's done, things will go way faster and you'll see the map go further north. -
Map in Dayz is just something to flash to your friend to look cool. You don't really need them in-game. You can get around just fine when you know the sun is always south. When are we going to have watch and day/night cycle that makes some sense?

Does it have to be THAT real? I mean, there isn't a single house that is the same, in the world, but Dayz is full of identical houses. Also, why does there is always the same kind of stuff in houses? I mean, why there the loot not determine by the owner of the house? That way, you could find a house where a junkie lived and find some drugs, alcool, or a camping lover where you would hace pocket knifes, gas lamp, gas stove, tents... Or even gun nut! Maybe this needs a new topic. -
I think this game need to have an hotkey to open/close door. Too many times I tried to open/close a door and I realoded instead. Can we just have a key for opening/closing door? Thank you.

@Mos1ey TBH, base building is not dumb, even with open houses. The houses in Dayz are too stactic for me. We would need alot of options to customized them to feel like a "home" or even an accomplishment of some sort. Camp building would be a nice start. Also, bikes.

First thing first: PvE and RP server are viable. Stop saying people looking to play that way are dumb. I've played on the mod in a RP server and we had a ton of fun. Lots of conflict, lots of war. As for Dayz, I know CCP are making something good with EVE (I've played alot of that too). The big question is: How to make Dayz somekind of EVE for survival? Eve have alot of repetition in it. Crafting.... What about this: Food is going rarer: You need to hunt, farm, herd your food. Ammo is gone: Collect empty case, do your own gun powder, ect... Clothing are getting ruined: Collect wool from sheep, leather from dead animals, ect... This might get some kind of economy going on. Maybe it's silly. -

Why EVERY post is about people arguing about KOS? I get it, you KOS. People who are shot whine. ENOUGH. Tired of this. Can you people just read the IDEAS in this post? If KOS is no longer part of the game, so am I. I just love to snipe people. Nothing feels more fun to me right now that to lure people with stuff in the middle of the street and make their brain splatter on the pavement. That part is clear? Fine. Now let's talk about ideas to make this game more fun. Because right now, it's full of potential, but so many things are missing to this game I can't think of all the work there is to be done. -

I like this post, thank you for writing this. How do we get sure someone from the staff take notice of this? I am an old time MMO player, I played Ultima Online for YEARS. ( I did play a bit last year! ) Taking territory? Fortify player made base? Complex way to interact with buidlings, vehicules, weapons? Hell yeah. Let's have some rare spawn on server, random places, that you have to actually work hard to get so you can upgrade that Jeep/Bunker/Zebra with lasers of yours. People don't like where you have build your shit? Give them the chance to grab axes/torches/old running shoe and gather to destroy it. You don't want people hitting your stuff with old shoe? Kill them! Defend the place! Or build somewhere else. You have enough man power to build a tower of Doom in the center of Elektro? DO IT! Want to KOS everyone that comes 500m near the city line? DO IT! People will adjust in such a world. If they want to survive. I really love where this idea can get, but is it possible? I guess you would need huge server or something. (Not a computer programmer here.) -

Maybe the drop could not only be military? Why not food, water and meds? Even maybe radio, warm clothes, tents... things actual survivors would need. After all, why do you want to give civilians high end military stuff when they can kill zombies just fine with a wood axe? First thing you know, they start to shoot at each other on sight. Stoopid ppl. I do think there should have something involving Military/Survivor. Something like a faction war. Military have to defend certain key area, while they have the best stuff, they are also highly hearchical and have to follow order. Maybe they would have to control certain zone with checkpoint where you have your blood tested for infection or name of bandits... Why not applying martial laws in some case? On the other end, survivor could rebel against the military to try to steal that so much important loot, food, water... or cooperate with them. Maybe they could try to get a special kind of meds that cure your blood infection. Imagine a military convoy escorting supply for a highly defended restricted zone. What would the survivor do? Help the military to obtain a reward? Try to work together to attack the convoy? Read a book in the wood? I think the game could be interesting. But I think this should be more of a mod. Because who knows? The military are maybe all dead after all. -

I think that KOS on Public Server is a good thing. If you run like a deer in the middle of the road, you deserve a bullet. Just be carefull. When Private Server will be implemented, you will think twice about being a dick all the time, since you will be playing with the same people for a longer time. Common goal? It's already in the game, if you want it. "Help me get (insert item here)!" "Sniper in Balota killing bambies, let's feed him desinfectant and rotten fruit!" If base building is implemented, what will hold us to gather 10-15 guys, team up and raid a camp together to loot it? Nothing. You want to have a camp? You need guards, runners for supply, ect... This game can be as awesome as WE want. No need to implement scenario and goal. I've played on the mod on a server where player made their own faction and where fighting for city/territory. I think Dayz can go that way, as soon as we have a more stable community for servers. -
