10 minute is not enough to loot dead bodies you put down
Flight96 replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
Completely agree. Maybe it's a performance decision that isn't permanent..? I have no clue. After all, it's a player corpse, if we're gonna keep up with the realism then the body should be around for quite a while i would think. Edit: It's not necessarily about your particular style of play, it's about the game's theme in general. If player's bodies aren't getting up and re-animating then i would expect bodies to be there for MUCH longer than just 10 minutes, even 30 to an hour is acceptable from a 'gameplay's sake' perspective but reference my above guess. Just because it's not a wise decision to YOU and potentially many others, that shouldn't reject the idea of dead player bodies being around longer than 10 mins. -

Lol, baby throwing a temper tantrum perhaps? -
Could DayZ be done better on a different engine?
Flight96 replied to doctorbadsign's topic in General Discussion
No, no problems understanding it. None at all. Enjoy your pointless endeavors man, I just got a good kick out of it is all. ;) -
Lol, sounds like one hell of an adventure your having there doing that. Solid idea OP. I support.

*Blows own brains out* To the OP: Not quite sure, just had to address this lmao. -
Enjoy getting handcuffed and watching the pup get executed as some guys walk off leaving you there with your bloodied up 'best buddy' lol. Inb4 up tight animal rights activists

Flight96 replied to crazykage's topic in General Discussion
Oooooh, Now that can be a good debate right there. -
Seems kind of inhumane to slaughter them knowing they're just sick people.

They're dead. Re-animated corpses with no remorse nor sympathy nor compassion for the living. They kill, that's all they do; they eat. They are beyond saving. -
Thanks DayZ but I'm afraid I'm staying

I'm even more excited that this is JUST the beginning. Like you said, it's just an ALPHA and it's already great. We still have sooooo much more stuff to enjoy and experience coming up. -
I think it pretty much goes without saying that our character's "progression" does NOT take priorty over things such as game optimization and stability at this current point in the game's development.
-
Oh, i LOOOOVE the fact that you decided not to address my claim and passed my words off as 'just some more pointless aggravation' bahahahahaahahahaahahaha Don't get all worked up just because you don't like the way a particular type of people play. You call people that run in packs and kill on sight 'pathetic'. YOUR the pathetic one for even being bothered by people because they choose to play a certain way. Get a life. How's that? Was that aggravating enough for you?
-
I'm pretty sure you're already enraged buddy. Your pissing on a particular group of people for their choice in play style. In short, you need to chill the fuck out lol...
-
You got into a rumble with some cheaters and still almost came out on top. Nice.
-
lmao this is pretty funny.

I'm getting really tired of hearing the arguement that faster zombies are better simply because it makes them more of a threat. I'm pretty sure a majority of dayZ vets and even new players alike feel that this isn't the case. They can be easily handled in a variety of situations. Sure, that has the possibility to change when they start to add more and more zombies into the game but what about the idea of slower ones. Surely when they add hordes of these things (Which i'm hoping they do) it can potentially make for some much more interesting scenarios with the added tension of feeling spotted by a huge horde of zombies that is slowly closing in on you, as apposed to a huge horde of zombies that are FAST that have spotted you. If they're fast, it's not really about what's the most ideal or smart way to finish up what we're doing here as they close in, it's more like get the hell out NOW. Lol. Which in itself is immersive and fun and offers its own set of interesting scenarios. With the current way the zombies detect players (Which i know is going to change and be tweeked over time..) faster ones make for more of an annoyance than an immersive game mechanic in my opinion of course. I mean, I appreciate that when the zombies do detect you in SA they're not running in off the wall zig zags anymore and that's a huge improvement. Just throwing out an already tirelessly discussed topic to get some more opinions. Thoughts?

Again, i'm not arguing priorites here. I have no problems seeing some zombie detailing waaaaaay later down the road, even past beta stage. I just would love to see some variety implemented. And not to the extent of l4d special zombies with particular powers n shit. More like, enraged zombies that move slightly faster and look slightly different but behave and aggro the same as the ones we have now and much slower ones that have the same characteristics but with a different pace. I may even go as far as to suggest a different animation for them. Really? That's interesting, i didn't know rocket's stance on zombies was that they SHOULDN'T be a primary threat in this game.. That kind of sucks, but we'll just have to see what happens. I agree with your opinion otherwise. Thanks for the input all.
-
I definitely understand your idea. May be a tricky thing to implement. (I'm not game developer by a long shot) but it would definitely add alot more depth and chances for intense ass scenarios to both of our ideas.
-
Definitely agree. If this type of idea were ever added to the game which i highly doubt it ever would, it should make a shit ton of noise.
-
Ouch!, right in the logic.
-
Yes, let us join each other in informing how many times this has been posted. Please, keep doing it.
-
Excellent idea. Maybe zombie behavior is responsive to the amount of noise they hear, such as a gunshot like you said. Would definitely further encourage the use of melee weapons in uncertain and unsafe areas. Thanks for the input.

I mean, that's great man. I'm envious of your ability to find such compassionate people in such a ridiculously harsh world lol.. Keep at it survivor.
