    Whats the point of a sandbox without sand? Construction or town possession is what Rocket has in mind. He already stated some time ago a minecraft type concept only done in dayz form...this to me says buildable bases, underground bunkers, treehouses etc

    It then will come down to proper turf wars. I think fuel tanks, stations should only have a certain percentage of fuel that can run out and only be reset randomly by the hive...maybe between 3 - 6 weeks. This then encourages scouting parties, trades etc. Bring in generators that can run lights for bases (car head lamps) to setup proper working towns and safezones. You could have players setting up shops and diners selling food and equipment in return for ammo or fuel.

  10. I always try to establish communication, if they fail to reply I normally back away. KoS is boring and for me unless its group turf wars. Most encounters ive had has ended rather pleasantly with trading etc and some people being added to my steam friends. You do however come across panic merchants that freak out and go gungho but I reckon ive became a bit of an expert at player behavior profiling.
  11. Clipping Issues:- Infected running through walls, Players falling under or inside buildings, Grass Carpets and wall piercing plants in buildings, loot placements. Water splashing sounds triggering early. Random sound effects. Desync issues. Doors that open outwards instead of inwards :(

    Every time my son tries to create a character and go into a server it resets back to the default woman. Anyone got any info on how to solve this?

  16. Hey Rocket & Co I have an idea that may help with the progression speed of things and leave you devs spare time to concentrate on other aspects. Fortan for example had been creating sound effects that sound amazing and hes obviously put a lot of work into this.....why not use them??? My idea is....release the infected model/skin pack and have it available for download then have the community's model and skin designers contribute. We could then vote via polls on the forums on what designs are good enough to be featured in the game. If its successful then we could do the same for other aspects.

    Its not so much as getting the game finished faster...its more of a helping hand to allow the devs to work on other parts like getting the bugs fixed and keep the community occupied lol

    Yeah having the devs pick will probably be better and the steam workshops a great idea.
  19. The server doesn't load all infected on the map at once! Infected only spawn once a player hits a certain radius of a building etc so better models, skins, animations and hitboxes are definitely possible.

    There should be a designer dedicated to building design and another for interior modelling, texture making. For a post apocalyptic scene like Dayz is...the place is awfully tidy. I think in order for infected to get a staring role they must have them sweep up while no ones looking !

    So....what your saying is if someone rents a server and no one else plays on it for a time then they should leave their own server to play on someone elses??? You see how things can get complicated easy in here!

    The ability to cut trees down, make wooden planks and logs and build treehouses or base camps. Creates a safe haven from wandering hoards. Adds a group construction element rather than just pitching tents. Downed military choppers or planes, keeps players busy searching etc Clan or group logos on clothing and helmets. Controllable towns, adds turf war scenarios, trading posts etc. Generators that require fuel could be used to provide electricity for lighting. Welding kits to apply armour to vehicle's, maybe even mount guns etc Bandit hanging...would be nice to see the path to my basecamp decorated with hanging bandits as a warning. Erm I think thats all for now lol.

    This community....(kos complaint)

    I think the KoS element is down to boredom for now. Once the main elements have been added to the game you may find communitys being built and towns being controlled...in these cases bigger groups will be needed to hold areas etc and setup supply and trade lines. Hopefully things like fuel will be scarce enough to encourage trading in order to run vehicles. Prisoners are a better commodity rather than kos, fresh meat tastes better than rotting flesh and those thunderdomes dont work without 2 fighters. Well this is the vision I have in my head anyway lol
