Sable, let me just say thanks for actually taking the time to read what's being said in here and responding...at least you have the decency to inform us of what's going on and trying to combat the problem. I dont blame BE, and yeah you are right in what you highlighted in a previous post...VAC should be responsible too (not you're exact words) but I agree. I dont think you should be the one that's held accountable for the hacking status...anticheats can only be as good or as strong as the game code they protect. People seem to be pointing the finger at you and because your the only one here thats defending your product. The blame here should be in the BI dev teams hands, the restrictions inplace for admins is the reason cheaters roam freely and do as they please. VAC needs more frequent ban waves and security holes in the game needs patched. Until then, admins need the ability via tools to properly scrutinise logs and files to find duped gear, speed hacks, god modes, wallhacks and added items etc and deal with the offender accordingly! -

Well pay the money out you're own pocket and rent you're own server...then you can run it the way you like and watch how hacks and scripts ruin the gameplay and drive good players away. Paying the high cost monthly for an empty server isn't much fun let me tell you.Of course you'll get the odd abusive admin...just dont play on that ferkin server!!! There's many great admins out there that work hard to run great communitys and try to keep the servers hack, dupe and kiddie free, these are the servers you want to be a part of. In order to play fair, enjoy the game and help bug/glitch find to aid with the games development admins need the powers to keep clean servers for uninterrupted gameplay to exist. Server reputation speaks volumes in DayZ and any other game for that matter. If an server falls foul to admin abuse the community will be the first to let you know....then bye bye server! -

No one is suggesting Admins having such powers to provide Global Bans!!! Only BE and VAC should have that power...people are asking for the admin tools to ban blatant hackers from the servers in which they admin and given the means to capture the data or evidence to submit to BE and VAC for them to investigate (Global Ban Proposal). -

If you read back over our debate Zod you will see that this is what I was trying to say to you, which you presented a case against this idea. Lol think we got lost in translation dude haha.I think giving admins the proper tools to ban blatant hackers (based on solid evidence only) with the choice to also send this evidence to both BE and VAC for a possible global ban will greatly reduce the current hacking situation. When I was a dayz mod server admin, I used a great piece of software named DayZ radar which allowed me to spot where players moved on the map via logs (notice I said WHERE, and not ARE) and it gave me a timed marker when the player changed direction or got to a destination point....was perfect for identifying teleporting players or speedhacks due to the timestamps. Simple things like that work for spotting those teleport, flying or speed hacks, all admins would need is to allow for the logs to identify players that spawn in items or allow the kill text to be displayed...the rest can be picked up visually and the evidence gathered via video or screenshots can then be presented to backup the ban. -

There's plenty of game recording software out there like Fraps that can be used to capture evidence. I just dont see your opinion plausible as to the reason why admins should not be granted more power, especially now with your revealing enlightenment that you are indeed a mod yourself (odd turn of events nonetheless) and it doesn't really matter now...private shards are coming so admins will have ban and whitelisting powers. -

I get the feeling you're fairly new to DayZ Zod, did you ever play the mod? Everything that is happening right now with hacks in the standalone is a case of history repeating itself. Giving admins the power too see which player (perhaps in logs) making multiple kills per second is just an aid to identify hackers. To combat abusive admins that ban at will etc, video proof or logs should be used against hackers to back up the case and provide a valid reason for the ban. If you dont think this is acceptable then perhaps you use or you're a creator of such scripts or hacks...or just to lazy to actually do anything about it....oh that's right, it's not you're job to do it, in either case....stop whining about it if you're not prepared to contribute towards stopping it. -

I agree with you...servers should not be locked and statuses should be checked daily to enforce the rules. But unless people like you and me make the effort to report them then it will continue to happen cause lets face it....enforcement will never happen properly. Once private shards are implemented then servers can be locked and whitelisted but for now, locked servers are an abuse of the server agreement. All in all though, I still stand by my previous statement...admins simply need more powers to deal with hacks! The abilty to see who's killing who, who's teleporting etc and it needs to be done before base building, tents and vehicles are added or it'll be a repeat of the mod all over again. I don't rent a server these days as I got fed up with the hacking on the mod and the constant stream of players notifying me, just took up too much of my time trying to trace evidence etc, but the leader of the clan I now play in does and runs it strictly in accordance with the rules. Its good admins that need the tools to deal with this and provide a good playing experience for the servers player base. -

General Zod....do you rent a server? Do you pay a monthly fee out of your own hard earned cash to allow players to enjoy the game and bugtest only for hackers to ruin everything and have all those once happy players come complaining to you?...nah, didn't think so! Admins need more powers and the tools to deal with script kiddies, yes you will get fuckwitt admins that abuse it, every game does. But let me ask....would you rather put up with the constant script kiddies ruining your game time every single day on every high populated server or play on a server with good admins...because not all admins abuse power, those that do...we'll, you just report them and no longer play on that server. -

My original post was not a dig or snipe, merely a suggestion...however, if like you stated Sable that both you and Dayz team allready operate in this manner then please enlighten myself and many pissed of players as to why we havent seen the effects of Anticheats or security vulnerability patches?I understand that this isnt all down to just dayz and BE, that Valve has a shared responsibility in counter measures but I recon I do not stand alone here in asking the reason...."Why have the systems in place failed to detect and react to the hacking epidemic we currently have?". -

Why doesnt the DayZ team use some of that sales cash and start purchasing these widely available hacks and then plug the holes...or at least see how they're being implemented and secure the breeches. I just did a quick google search and there's pages apon pages supplying all of which is being discussed in here. -

Ive been playing since the first day the game was released on Steam, played the mod more or less from its first day release....I've almost played this whole time solo and only recently joined a squad of players which has totally transformed my play style....join a clan or squad (much more fun). If you're going to stay solo then the first rule of thumb is stealth...stalk, watch, study and learn before attempting anything. Never run around exposed and never trust anyone. -

My crew ran into a blatant hacker last night, from the NWAF radio mast we hear a ton of explosions, we decide to go for a browse and see what's going on. The moment we enter the town a players teleporting from rooftop to rooftop spamming grenades.... He then proceeded to teleport ontop of a 2 story building (3 of our players spotted this) and opens fire on us all....no bullets returned back to this so called hacker did any damage. -
Ok so I upgraded my comp and reinstalled Dayz but for some mad reason my profile name wont load and my character seems to be stuck on reverting to my system username rather than my steam name. My original character is loading ingame minus a few items and my fully blinged mosin. I've also tried copying my original profiles back from the documents folder but still im getting the same ingame name issue...any ideas or suggestions? Im thinking possibly a bug in the latest patch but im not finding any info or reports.

Are these still ingame? Haven't found one since they were first introduced.

I constantly find mosins in vybor, start at the factory side in the white'ish 2 floor piano building, then down the hill to the next piano building, orange brick building then top floor of the office block....between those 4 alone I normally find a couple. I've been searching for a compensator for 2 weeks now and still havent found one :(

I've been in and out of every town on full servers and im still on my first character (well minus 1 charcter wipe). Yeah I've had a few interactions with players but only after I've been watching them for a while and decided to reveal myself. Tried my tactic a couple of nights ago in svetlo, watched 2 players that seemed to me as friendly, came out of my watching position and crouched in an alley staring at one of the other players (had my gun raised just incase) and I yell "friendly?" "been watching you guys, had several chances to drop you and haven't, im friendly" The player looks at me and runs off into the building and I see his friend upstairs come to the window. I figure...ok, no communication....leg it! So I decide to give them space and I move out to the NEAF and they can clear the town. I get to the airfield just as the same 2 muppets arrive..im like WTF, im positive I wasnt tailed, one came down and the other I spotted on OW on the hill (not hidden lol). The 2 begin to open fire at me and I zigzag sprint out of there....i get into town and find a mosin in the top floor of the school /office building on the shelf and high tail it west along the road, find a nice ambush spot from the treeline and equip my LRS to my mosin and swap the bipod from my m4. Now if my predictions are correct this pair will come this way to hit the next town...15 mins later here come the 2 muppets running along the road like a pair of noobs.....line up my shot, about to press the trigger and BANG, BANG, BANG! Im like WTF, 3 guys come running out the treeline on the opposite side of the road taking down 1 of the players....i scope on the second (just to watch) and see him log lmao -
You guys are forgetting that what we have in DayZ are NOT Zombies....they are Infected. So to say they are similar to the classically slow, rotting flesh, dumb as shit walking dead type is a misunderstanding. These are infact as Romeo says above, much closer to the rage virus victims i.e. Infected humans that are still smart enough to figure out how to get to you....and the only thing that should stop them climbing ladders to get to you would be a loud distraction or an easier target to attack. The ingame infected are not driven by a primal instinct to gorge apon living flesh....they are more interested in attacking anything else uninfected. So ladder climbing.....of course!

DayZ's Absurd Public Server Hosting Polcies

Yeah I kinda agree that paying players should be entitled to reserved slots, afterall why should people pay for nothing. However...you know the rules and by renting a server in the games state you more or less agree to those rules. What should be the case though is Server Companies should charge lower rates for Hive based servers and normal rates for Private Hive servers. Albeit that its Alpha and private hives will come in the near future...i recommend not renting a server until then if you want full control. -

Just out of curiosity.....how did you know the player was a server hopper? It seems every time I read about KoS the reason is always Bandit or Server Hopper! Just admit it ffs...you shot a player.

Battle Eye tells no lies, if you were globally banned then its clear you were hacking. Please do not come in here pleading your innocent and crying about it. Man up and admit you were trying to cheat and now your £20 down....hell mend you. However, if your a member of the 0.00001% that actually is telling the truth, then you need to take it up with Battleeye...oh and we'd be interested in hearing theyre reply.
