  1. Being a veteran of the mod since July 2012, I've probably given and received thousands of blood bags. So, naturally, I resorted to trying to heal my zombie/bullet wounds with them in the SA. However, most of you guys know that, with the added blood type system and having to hunt down the blood testing kits (I have found 2 total in 20 hours of gameplay), the SA makes it incredibly challenging for a lone wolf or even a four man squad to heal up the conventional way, AND if you're O-, you might has well whore your hemoglobin to your friends and start a new character. Here's where it gets crazy: SALINE! That's it. All you have to do is locate two items. 1. An IV start kit. (This can be found in hospitals and in the red medpacks scattered throughout Chernarus) 2. A bag of Saline (some Saline bags come with IV's attached for when speed is crucial). Construct the IV by dragging the saline on the IV kit, or vice versa and equip to hot bar. Select it, make sure its in your hands and scroll-click on your wounded warrior buddy to give him a permanent (as far as I know) health boost. That easy. NOW GO FORTH AND HEAL!

    WarZ all over again

Well then, don't let me ruin it for you.

    WarZ all over again

45 seconds might have been an exaggeration on your part. Before taking the all too familiar "I don't know what it is, so it must be 1. Aliens 2. God 3. Hackers" jump to conclusion... lets think logical here. First off, I have experienced CATASTROPHIC desync. I have literally ran from rogovo to green mountain, only to have been teleported back to rogovo and lost all control of my character. Later, I found out my desync was up to 80000? So, on everyone else's screen, I was standing in the field near rogovo with no fucks given. Lucky for me, no one walked by. Secondly, your 45 second hail of gun fire (if it wasn't exaggerated to all hell) could simply be explained by 2 guys with the 60 round clip attachment taking turns firing on you.

combat logging: a constructive thread ?

Why are you so hostile? Calm down. This is supposed to be a constructive suggestion thread, not a stage where you can flaunt your all knowing intelligence.

combat logging: a constructive thread ?

I am just doing a five minute brainstorm. If I had a week and the knowledge of the programmers on the dev team, I'd have it up and running. But alas, I am just a mere mortal, trying to offer some helpful suggestions.

combat logging: a constructive thread ?

Why is it stupid? Unless you are a combat logger hiding behind this guise you put up, why is killing a combat logger a bad idea? It even saves the other side bullets! And you could have a variable "incombat" set to zero when not in combat and set to one when in combat. If the player hits "EXIT" or hits "alt+f4", the server could simply check variable "incombat" to see if its one or zero and punish if necessary BEFORE the connection to the server is even dropped. Scratch that, you could have that variable plugged directly into the code for the exit button lmao.

Listen, I know you wanna be right. But you have to be optimistic and lighten up.

You say that, but you can't combat life, my friend. You sound like you are a miserable person.

People over exaggerate KOS so much.

The fact is and will always be: People want your shit. That's it. When laws and civilization are crumbling around me, and I need to guarantee my/my party's safety? You're damn well right I am going to KoS.

combat logging: a constructive thread ?

Haha yes, and I am also sure that people will find hacks and scripts as well. And I'm sure people will murder, and deal drugs and commit fraud. The purpose is to make it a massive pain in the ass to pursue those paths. Trying to weed them out completely is unrealistic.

Merry Christmas to you too, you cheery bastard you.

combat logging: a constructive thread ?

If a person, who the server detects is in combat, hits alt+f4 or hits exit on the menu, it should kill them and even post a server wide message like "Synystr is a coward." I think that would be pretty bad ass. There is a big difference between losing connection and INTENTIONALLY trying to leave the game.

I'm sure the programmers would implement a failsafe for someone with high ping... If you hit alt+f4 or hit exit on the menu, THAT should kill you. Not losing connection by way of shitty internet.
  15. Please remove 3rd haha. The game is so immersive and SO MUCH FUN with first. However, I really don't want the axe or my backpack strap clipping through my face :(

    How about adding locks?

I never liked locks. Ruins the fun of finding someones base.

It's not that hard Rocket (combat logging comment)

Why not let the server KILL the combat logger? No warning. I think I speak for most of us when I say I never have the tendency to combat log as soon as I get shot at. Having this harsh of a punishment will curb that habit right away.

combat logging: a constructive thread ?

I say let them combat log, but have the server kill their character and leave the body behind for the person who is going to win. No warning. Have a timer (30 seconds) once in combat, (zombie aggro, or if the server detects a bullet passing in... 50m of the person? I think that's fair.), that will reset up to the maximum of 30 every time the server detects you are in combat. Harsh? Maybe. Fair? Absolutely. Combat logging, I feel, is up there with hacking because, if you're quick enough, you can log out and ghost behind the person in under a minute in the current set up.
  19. When you compare the distance you can hear gunshots in the mod to the SA, there is a massive difference. I wasn't able to hear my buddy shooting his M4 200 metres or so away. Was this intentional?

    COMMUNITY IDEAS

It doesnt need to appear on screen. Its in a box of cards on your inventory.

How did the beans meme start?

It started with what was called "Bean Wars" in late may, early july 2012. Bean Wars were basically fresh spawns staying in the looted cities on the coast just to fight even though they had nothing except for what you started with, (Makarov, can of beans etc.) So essentially, they were fighting over beans. So the meme arouse where people were like "I'm gonna take your beans!!!" etc. Haha
  24. I love it. It makes tense moments, and it makes you have to actually LOOK for stuff, giving you stuff to do instead of making one run to a hospital, getting 10 blood bags, and then PvPing. This medical system gives us MISSIONS! I need to know my blood type, I need to get some sterile bandages, my buddy needs blood etc.
  25. I think it would be cool to have a playing card pack you can find, and have it track achievements like: 1. Been alive 12 hours 2. Been alive 24 hours 3. Gave blood. 4. First player kill. 5. Customized your weapon. 6. First Zombie Kill 7. 10 player kills 8. Gave medical aid to another player 10 times. 9. Repaired a vehicle 10. Traveled 10 kms Etc. And you can have the suits categorize the deeds by how good and evil the achievements are. Hearts = good Spades = evil for example. So maybe you'd start off with an empty card box, and lets say you kill your first zombie ON THAT CHARACTER. A Jack of Clubs would appear in your card box with "My first zombie kill" scratched on it in marker. Or you heal your 10th survivor and you get the King of Hearts with the names of the people you've helped written down. As you play you slowly build up this deck, and you can track your progress and your humanity by the cards you are getting. Eventually you will die and your body will be left there. If you were killed by a player he could go through your card box to see what you have accomplished with that character as a bit of a trophy and memorial depending on the situation. Like, if you killed the most notorious bandit on the server, you could loot his King of spades for 10 player kills with his name on it as a trophy, or maybe you come across a noble hero who died trying to help a survivor but got overrun by zombies. You loot his king of hearts for giving aid to 10 survivors to carry on his memory and use it as a reminder that people are always evil. I think it would be awesome for the DayZ stories we always hear, and a cool way to keep track of what you have done and what memories you have created.
