I don't get it. Why hopefully not? If you didn't like it I wouldn't see how it affects people who dont play it.
  2. I don't get it, are you playing the game just to play it? or testing? Character resets are a very very VERY common thing in testing phases. Alot of these resets are intentional. It's to keep people from not scavenging on tweeks. What you are experiencing is nothing out of the ordinary. Just keep testing and posting results on the tracker if you find something new.
  3. Ok, now log on and try doing something else. Try to get yourself stuck somewhere, See what happens if you swim for an hour, try to land on someones head. The thing is, what happens to your character's "progression" is irrelivant since thats not the point of this stage of development. If characters wiping probably something causing it and we are to find the bug that causes it but not solely that bug.
  4. No point in playing? You're supposed to be breaking the game and report how you broke it. I mean really everyone at this point is a tester.
  5. Its been asked since the mod. If it isnt fixed by now, It wont be. regardless how many times people will say alpha. I'ts just something thats never a priority in every game I experience it in and never gets looked at.
  6. The issue you are experiencing is Unfixable on anyones side but the coders. This issue is called "Negative Mouse Acceleration". I've already posted this to other threads that are experiencing this. This is an unavoidable issue at the moment that pretty much everyone experiences. Those who say they don't didn't know what it was and got used to it. If you point your mouse at a spot, turn your mouse somewhat slow and do a full 360, try to do that same 360 but as fast as you can, you will probably move about 40 degrees if lucky. This causes for squirly feel when you try to navigate through the game and precision aim. Negative mouse acceleration is caused by poor coding and needs to be fixed on their end. This has nothing to do with "mouse acceleration" not turning off as that makes your aim move faster the faster you move the mouse. FarCry 3 is known to have this issue and thats with mouse acceleration toggle working. You know now that I think about it. I haven't tried turning up mouse acceleration to the max to see if this can counter negative pull. I doubt it does but I need to try that next time.
  7. This isn't something to pin "alpha" on Especially since the original Dayz still has the same mouse issue. I pretty much accepted that the programmers they have do not know how to solve the issue as its usually done through poor coding. Negative mouse acceleration makes no sense you shouldnt slow down when turning high speeds. If you still think its connection issues try moving your mouse when you lose connection. That rules out any server/client chatter you would assumew as the problem.
  8. This is how I deal with zombies though, first hit knocks them down, and while they are recovering just aim for the head some more. by the time they get up they go down again. At around the 3rd down they are out. This isnt me trolling either. It's what I literally do If i don't have an axe. Every other melee option just garantees getting hit back if you don't dance like the first guy said.
  9. It's not impossible. He just doesnt want to go that route. It's always possible to program a client to fetch specific data your client is receiving anyway to determine if your hungry/ thirsty/bleeding/how much health your at currently to determine what your character does. like die for an example. Would it be direct milisecond accuracy? No. But you dont need that constant refresh rate of that kinda stuff anyway.
  10. What you are experiencing is Negative mouse acceleration which is the worst thing a game with fps controls could have. The faster you move your mouse the slower it goes. Alot of people don't understand what negative mouse acceleration is and just tie it to "mouse acceleration" and can be fixed by turning that off which is 100% false.
  11. Whats with people falling back to "its alpha/beta" responses like that means don't say anything till you see what they do? Alpha/beta stages ARE the stages where feedback counts. It's what molds the game into what it becomes. Ideas are just that, ideas. It's all our jobs to give ideas and feedback to help the game evolve and mold. With that said. The first concept seems to be the best. The button at the top looksl ike it would toggle the gear on the 3d model which is perfect to be able to see your front appearance. The "generic" approach people talk about isnt a bad one. Especially when it's about ease of access and use. I'm more against seperate inventory pockets dayz went with. I'd like to see a more unified inventory that expands with the more "slots" equipment have on them.
  12. i was going around KOing all sorts of people last night I'd take hits from axes, bats, and wrenches and still didnt hold up to my Iron paws. lol The fists need to be re-evaluated for sure. I'm at the point where if im holding someone up I'll tell them to equip a bat before I approach them.
  13. Other than a gun and axe, no melee weapon holds a candle to bare hand attacking. I thought I'd see how far i'd get just punching and its actually the longest killing streak i've ever done in dayz. 1-2 shot knock out and your set. Ive gone up against pipe wrenches, shovels, bats, and axes. If i get that lucky first shot knock out against someone with even an axe i'm good. With the short amount of time I just spent boxing people down I could confidently say that bare hands need to be looked at lol. This is also attacking people with face masks and other head protection. I've yet to try against a motorcycle helm
  14. lol, I'm pretty sure the ones i gave the beat down were pretty mad and possibly yelling out hacker when i punch them once and they go down.
  15. How is this still a thing? I've played dayz on and off over the years so yes, its nothing new. But that's not to say it doesn't throw me off every time. Even just navigating i get a "squirly" feel when i'm just turning a hall or turning to an object and have to fight myself to center my mouse. Many times I feel as though I should have lived because im forced to slowly move my mouse to get the increase in turn speed from something hitting me or shooting from behind. Even straight ahead aiming is so off putting. You can't even build muscle memory to the negative acceleration just because its so inconsistent and that is what throws me out of the state of "immersion" more than anything else, not icons, texts, or anything like that. Just getting mad at my mouse for not cooperating. It needs fixing. It almost feels like its intentional though. I don't think I ever seen Rocket acknowledge this issue in any streams or anything I seen with his name on it.
  16. Do you even know what negative mose acceleration is? Heres a little experiment you can try. look at an exact spot on a wall, turn your mouse at a relativly slow pace till you get to that spot again. Now do that again only this time turn your mouse as fast as you can to see how fast you can 360 again. The distance you first used to 360 will probably make you go 40 degrees if lucky. It makes moving your mouse faster to track a fast object messed up, because your mouse starts to slow down the faster you move your mouse to try to keep up. so you have to slow down your speed to increase it. Sounds wrong right? Pretty much youll never have any consistency with negative acceleration. Its worse than normal acceleration.
  17. Played for a while just fine with no issues on interacting with doors. Earlier today I logged out to take care of some buisness IRL and relogged about 2 mins later only to find that every door I try to open I get no indicator to open it. It isn't lag. I can use my items, fight zombies, and pick up look on the ground that I can get to just fine. I tried killing myself to respawn, relogging, restarting the game. Nothing is working so far. Am I really the only one with this issue? I did some forum browsing and didn't see this concern yet. The inability to open any door is game breaking since everythings indoors for the most part.
  18. Yes, this clearly shows I spent quite some time forum surfing the pages down while I did so that other thread was created. Since I didnt check back first page I made my own. I found the issue though.
  19. I just made a thread with this same issue, I couldn't find a thread like this and you make me look like a liar! Edit: and I just tried what guy said, that seems that was the issue
