    Idea: Ammo Handloading

    That would be awesome to go into that much detail. However I think something like ball and powder for a musket would be the most we could see. Who knows. Once they have impliment living off the land anything is possible, when you compare it to the level of detail in the medical/illness aspect of the game.

    Safety on guns?

    I liked the 'safety' in the ACE mod for Arma. When I watched the recent SA live streams there were a lot of accidental discharges by Rocket and crew. I think I remember him saying it wasn't possible for a safety without an engine overhaul. Here's hoping though

    Is blood type tied to your character spawn or your player account? Has anyone tested their blood more than once to find it has changed between respawns? I'd imagine it's tied to the character spawn. It'll be funny when players rolling in groups forget they had respawned with a different type and someone ends up dying from shock :D

    Play as Zombie?

    What do you think about your players becoming a zombie if killed by them. Say either having a loot rich zombie walking around that looks like you or you actually getting to play as a zombie. I think it would be freaky to come across a smarter than average zombie, haha. "Did that zombie just flip me off?" It could almost be like a last man standing type of thing where you want to try and turn another player. Plus survivor players would have these "special" zombies to shake things up.

    Sniper Rifles

    As it is I like the fact that if you're of the sniper mind set, you can craft one from exsisting weapons. It then leaves you to learn and master that weapon for the purpose you like. If we can keep going in the direction of civilian/guerilla weapons that would be cool. I'll miss the big bores like the other military stuff. However I'm surprised at how much I'm enjoy the "civilain" mood of SA. At this point I'm counting the days until I can see an AK in the game. :)

    please remove the barracks at balota

    What about some sort of Heat Map that looks at where players are going and adjusts loot spawns away from common areas? Would be a nice change of pace to get people to do something different. I'd like to see if Increased zombie population and AI effects this. A risk/reward right off the bat for a fresh spawn players? I have to say the as it is, I'm going way out of my way to avoid those areas when I spawn near there. All I hear is gun fire.

    What would you like see added to the game

    At first I was really disappointed in the departure of all the military stuff from the mod. I'm enjoying it now without it. With that said, what do I want to see. Well as a play on your mini bag idea. what about a random piece of loot? Could be helpful, might be a hinderance. It doesn't have to happen every time you respawn, but getting lucky every once and a while to make something spawn in your inventory would be a nice surprise. Maybe take that a step further and tie it to a system that rewards you for helping others. Nothing overpowering mind you. Just something to change it up. I'd like to see fish and sharks!

    How the alpha could be MUCH BETTER

    I have an issue with the "Safe Area" for logging out. Reminds me to much of the game that shall not be named. I'm leaning toward a timer. I think of it as going out, finding a place to hide and sleep. If someone was following you and they want to kill you while you're sleeping then they were lucky. So it should be in your best interest to do what you can to make that not happen with a log out timer. I don't play many MMOs and haven't seen what you guys have. But from reading the forums here, this is what I have come to feel in regards to DayZ. My 2 cents. It would be nice to see something limit the Gamma issue. I've been having fun running around at night thinking I'm invisible, haha. I'm starting to think it's not the case if everyone is turning up the gamma to get past it. At least that's what I've been seeing with every video I've seen with the alpha at night. I'm starting to feel like I'm in the minority when it comes to wanting this game to be as hard as possible. I play at night with it almost black. Yeah it's hard but it's night time. I can use my light and risk being seen. I hope a solution can be found to make it worth having nighttime. I was playing devils advocate before in my last post. I haven't played yet with friends on here yet. So I'm not sure if there are legit reasons for not penalizing some one off the bat for switching servers. I'd say that if someone switches a server, send them back to the coast. Then people will start doing that to warp back to the coast as a fast travel to start hunting bambis after kitting up. Well then how about warp them to a random place anywhere on the map. Then people are just fast traveling all over the map. Hmmmm perhaps adding a timer that increases with every attempt to change a server. Maybe. How about some how limiting the loot on a new server a person hops to so they would have to travel outside a certain radius until they can find something again. This might work with server reboots as well. Actually I'm liking this last idea. Instead of adding a timer on further attempts, just increase the radius around the player. Do this every time a player starts a game, except for a fresh respawn. Yeah as BI games move into the spotlight and gain more users, they move from niche to mainstream. I lament what had happen to the RainbowSix series back in the day. BI should keep FPS out of Arma and DayZ and just make other game to sate the mainstream. That's my hope. Cutting edge GFX seem to bring in the riffraff ;) I say make DayZ so hard it drives people away. Then I can play in peace, haha.
  14. Isn't that part of the game though? All the players are fighting for resources. So the places you've looked are cleaned out. So maybe you should start hunting other players to take what they have. :)

    Haha yeah :) What about your old character walking around as a zombie AI? Something akin to what was in ZombiU? With so many ways of dying, succumbing to the zombie infection could be one.

    Late Game Ideas

    I wanted to get a discussion going on what people would like to see when they reach a late game in their playthrough. Spur thought using proposed mechanics or just in general. From what I've seen with the mod (generally), is it moved from survival to just kitting up to become kill squads. Nothing wrong with that, but from see how deep SA is getting I think deeper game in the late stage is very possible. The name of the game is survival, and let's figure that hacking instances are low to keep things rolling. I recently saw a thread that showed some ideas as to what the thrist/hunger mechanic and nighttime might look like. I thought the doctored nighttime shot was interesting. However there were lit street lamps. That got me thinking. What if you could get the power plant outside Electro going again? It might light up the city, helping out Bambis, or draw zombies in/away from something. Or you could run power lines to your base, set traps, etc... True many of the ideas can be a blessing or a curse depending on your perspective but I think it all depends on how you'd like to play it. I imagine it like repairing a vehicle. A team effort. Whether it's taken further to say, it must be manned for it to operate may be a bit much. Unless you think of it as starting an attack/defend event. You know bandits will come for you as soon as the lights are on! I like the idea of giving players the opportunity to work together on large scale. Plus you'll always have the bandit players to oppose any work done. There is also the idea that achieving an object may result in a certain type of random event occuring or being more frequent. Say gasing up a generator an airfield to power a beacon, etc... Investigating aircraft may crash. Or NPC Cleansing squads may roll through shooting everything that moves (I myself am on the fence as to the thought of NPCs being in the game). There should also be things for Lone Wolf players to do as well. What do you guys think? Let's hear your ideas.

    Late Game Ideas

    Yeah it's definitely easy to throw out ideas that can drasically change what the game is. Of course we're not Rocket with the original vision. I mean who would have thought the new illness system would have been interesting enough for a game, but he's in the position to realize it. We all play the game and we've all be like "oh wouldn't it be cool if..." So keep those coming. I must admit I'm completely unaware of these other mods doing things similar. So if I say something that falls into that, just let me know. This is just meant for a fun convo while I'm not in game. I'm enjoying the game and want to talk to others who are as well. Hoarding is an extention of the survival mechanic I feel. I mean bums have boxes and shopping carts for their stuff :) I'm not sure if the base building mechanic is still in the games future but I remember Rocket talking about being able to occupy apartments in the new buildings around cherno. Very interesting but I wonder how it could work. Like would other people be able to walk in and go through the stuff (like finding a tent) or does a door shut and lock everyone out? Would players be able to break in if it did so? Maybe you could occupy structures out in the wilderness instead of building them? I never used the tents in the mod. What did you guys think if it? What if there was a stash system like Stalker? Something that can be hidden better than a tent. The fact remains we're going to need a place to keep our LOOTS. About building structures. I'm on the fence of that I think. Like it was mentioned above it's been done in another mod. But what if we can build defenses? Reinforce an exsisting structure through levels. Say first level would be boarding up windows. Next one would be a wall, and another would be traps. That could give a lot of seemingly useless loot a purpose later on to do so. Of course loot would have to kept from spawning in captured buildings as to not take advantage. Has anything been mentioned about traps? It would be interesting to say rig a dead body with an explosive :D That would be a surprise. Or say you pull the pin on a grenade when you're surrounded by bandits? That would level the playing field if they want your stuff. Taking you out would destroy your loot in the very least. You might even be able to take some of them with you. That would be one hell of a story getting out of a situation like that!
  18. Your ideas are more thought out than mine on the thread I started but I like how you're thinking. Would be interesting to see trading become more common. I'll come back with a more indepth response once I digest your ideas.
  19. Oh that's a good list! Suicide is a great feature for a zombie apoc game. I was going to say there should be something for a double suicide, but really all you need to do is one of the things on a list to someone else and then to yourself. Supplies Gasoline and matches. Would also be helpful for burning bodies with diseases, burning zombies, or in general. I think in general a lot of the things would take time, but it doesn't need to actually be realtime. Commit suicide, game fades...

    Haha, this reminds me of people in the Arma3 alpha asking to make the game easier. No thanks. I love how you demand to have the Loot Spawn System fixed as soon as possible. "Make game better NOW!" Rocket reads that is like this guy is on to something :) I'm just busting your chops. Combat logging and the Gamma thing are very touche issues. Like, people who server hop should be banned. Yeah makes sense but what if you're having issues and your trying to find your friends? Maybe if it's seen as abuse it shoots you back to the coast. I think the devs will figure it out.

    That's an interesting idea. Something that falls outside of the PvP realm live off the land. Someone happens by your cabin. You fix 'em and send them on their way, maybe do some trading too. Or you could just set up traps to deter everyone. I hope that expansions can be added to the map, or whole new maps to travel too. I'm not sure I like the drastically different maps people added to the mod but a change of pace was nice. It would be interesting to say travel down a road that lead off the map to some dogleg for you to explore. Something that can change. Like it has lead to a new wilderness area, but this week is an office park.

    Good point. We might as well take advantage of it! :) Since lights at close range don't don't work as well. Have a buddy stand outside and lightup the whole building, haha.
