They should remove the 30 sec char delay after logging off... You've got no control over it. A simple fucking zombie or a fresh spawn could wander up on you and punch you do death and you wouldn't know. Sure, you could say "Go to a safe spot", but nowhere is REALLY safe. As said previously zombies or players could just happen to pass by, or maybe you got to go asap for... say a visitor, shit your pants, phone call, you name it, so you just gotta log off and wait the 30 seconds then and there and see whats around so you get a safe log out. Instead of having to run for a few minutes to get to a place you probably won't get punched to death by a zombie or player. It would be much better to have a 30 seconds delay in which you see whats going on and can look around, but not move. Also it should be possible to abort it if you do see a zombie or player closing in for the free kill. The current system can and will eventually punish the people who are playing fair, i.e no server hop or combat log.

Bodies vanishing after killing them
James MacDonald replied to Mays (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
How is that combat logging? You're already dead. The combat is over. I never said that you claimed it to be anyones fault, I was saying that you shouldn't take your rage out on people who respawns when they die. -
Bodies vanishing after killing them
James MacDonald replied to Mays (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
When I die, I respawn. Not to deny anyone any loot, but simply because I don't bother waiting forever to respawn. If this denies douchebags any loot, so be it. Its not my fault. I've only ever been killed once in stand alone (tend to stay away from people), but as said previously, I'm not gonna waste my time just to let whoever kills me loot me. -
The future importance of hunting, cooking, the northlands and rare items (with pics!)
James MacDonald replied to serenityrick's topic in General Discussion
So the cities such as Cherno, Elektro, Berezino and all the minor settlements on the coast has food and the minor, medium and large villages/cities up north has none? Thats just dumb. Sure, the small towns far away from any life can have low food, but following the new highway up north should still have food. -
I was thinking the same, they have zombie kids in The Walking Dead. Maybe people just feel more strongly about it when you actually do the killing, apart from just watching it.
-
I kill kids in Crusader Kings II all the time, damn bastards keep trying to get my kingdom : | However, you don't actually see any kids get killed there. It just.... tells you : )

will they add heli crashes in the standalone?
James MacDonald replied to GulpinGulpin's topic in General Discussion
They will add them eventually, just not right now. -
This is not going to work, ever. Who the fuck wants to spend 5-45 minutes depending on distance walking handcuffed as a slave? No one. Everyone would just do something to make them kill you, or simply stand still until they shoot you or leave you.

Bodies vanishing after killing them
James MacDonald replied to Mays (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
This happens sometimes regardless. Friend of mine died (talked to him on skype) and he said he was still in-game laying where he died, while I saw him running and porting about a few hundred meters away from where he said he died. PS: Sorry for the multiposting here, kinda posted before reading the next one. -
Bodies vanishing after killing them
James MacDonald replied to Mays (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
This is just a dumb post... Who the fuck wants to wait 5 min 'ish to respawn, so that poor fellow that just shot you in the face can loot your corpse. It's not the dead guys fault he's corpse disappear, as said in previous post. -
Bodies vanishing after killing them
James MacDonald replied to Mays (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
The most common reasons for bodies to vanish is that they simply log out right after they die, and their corpses disappear. They still have to spawn fresh on the coast, and its not their fault their dead bodies disappear. -

James MacDonald replied to serenityrick's topic in General Discussion
The problem here is that once they finish the map and have the new villages and cities etc etc fully complete, most of the northern area you've marked as 'Extremely rare' will be in the middle of it. -
Guns I Dont / Want To See In The Game
James MacDonald replied to jamoy1993's topic in General Discussion
Police don't have guns where I live, only the task force who's kinda like SWAT have guns. -
Combat loging and server hopping

There's about 500 threads on these topics already. -
I think I got a mild case of cancer from reading this. I know a lot of people don't have English as their first language, but seriously...

That would still leave footprints, and even larger ones at that. The only thing rackets help with is falling through the snow.

How often have your shot somebody because you don't want to loose everything?
James MacDonald replied to roguetrooper's topic in General Discussion
Never. Unless they have had the bandit skins in the mod or any other branches of it. -
I've seen dead bodies disappear, stand up and walk away, slide across the ground or... stay there. It can all happen. The glorious moments of alpha testing. Get used to it ;)

Whats with this Shoot on sight mentality?
James MacDonald replied to CowJustice's topic in New Player Discussion
Then you are contributing to the issue and have no rights to complain. Beans revoked. :emptycan: -
Do you really think you could survive 3 bullets to the chest, stomach or head without any form of protection? Only way you would is being EXTREMELY lucky, having all 3 bullets miss your organs. Please, let me shoot you 3 times with a gun and if you survive I'll agree with you. Beans revoked! :emptycan: :emptycan: :emptycan:

I only shoot in self defense, and have always had the hero skin in Dayz, Breaking point and all the other branches. I simply don't find any joy in killing people. I find my joy in talking, trading, grouping and so on with other players, even if it's as brief as saying hello or simply doing the hand gesture. I do kill in self defense when it's needed, but even then if it can be avoided I will avoid it. I've had people shoot at me, and I've simply walked away. Sure he tried to kill me, but I usually talk to them in direct asking why he shot at me before I leave. I do in all honesty enjoy a firefight occasionally, but killing people just to kill people is not fun. I never liked the snipers that don't even loot corpses back in Dayzmod, and I especially don't like the people who feel the need to insult people they shot in the back, boasting about their amazing skill of shooting unarmed people from behind. Too bad most of my friends that I usually team up with have the KoS banditry attitude. I try to steer them away from it when I can, but to each his own I suppose.

What do you think about adding this item?
James MacDonald replied to knawx's topic in General Discussion
Awesome idea. However, this should not and will not be their main priority. If this does get implemented it will probably be a lot closer to beta - full release. : )
