A quick review and recap of my first/current life in SA...
James MacDonald replied to hrdrok's topic in General Discussion
Sorry, too tired to read all that. Nice screenshots tho : ) -
Epic :'D :beans:

There are some issues here and there as expected, but I'm really enjoying the game so far : )
-
I know, seen it happen several times. Just thought I'd post it, as people just assume the corpses disappear into the ground or something. Usually they tend to walk away :P

I killed 2 bandits robbing a guy of his blood!
James MacDonald replied to steezeortiz's topic in Gallery
I'll support your efforts with some beans, may they keep you well fed on your heroic adventures. -
Friend of mine passed out today while we were looting due to starvation. On his screen it said "Unconscious", while on mine he disappeared. He was still there, waiting he said. I found him 10 minutes later 700 meters or so away up and running, being ported 20 meters back then continue running, repeat.

No.... just no... One of the amazing things about Dayz is the real-time cycle. If you don't want to play at night, then find another server with daylight. I know there seems to be none, but there are, just look for them. Only thing I agree with is the locked gamma settings. Too many people just turn up gamma, I don't do it myself as it looks retarded. There should however still be a small margin of allowed gamma changes for actual changes and not just abuse at night.

The poll says it all. -
Get the fuck out of here... this is not world of warcraft...

Suggestion: Small choice of starting player gear.
James MacDonald replied to Ozelot (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Hope this never happens -
This game should be prohibitively difficult.
James MacDonald replied to autoloon's topic in General Discussion
Let the cod kids buy the game, cry about it and leave forever. The devs get the same amount of money if they stay or leave. -

Tried to find NWAF the other day, didn't have a map or anything. After spending 45 minutes walking in a circle basically, around the airfield and the surrounding area I finally found the fence : p I kept remembering certain places, and going accordingly. Which sometimes lead me to where I expected, and sometimes lead me to the middle of fucking nowhere. Which actually adds more depth to it other than as you say, set a waypoint and walk in a straight line. -
Roaming hordes... probably already a suggestion but hear me out :-)
James MacDonald replied to ShallowTech's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
This would indeed be awesome, but I do believe I saw a thread about this yesterday with a poll on it as well. -
Extremely rare monster deep in the wilderness

Who the fuck is hetstaine? -
Don't take credits for something you didn't come up with. I hope you meant to write something else.

Feature to really help combat logging.
James MacDonald replied to Indickua's topic in General Discussion
If this ever gets implemented 2 minutes is far too long. You don't always have the time to log out in a bush or far away from any player or zombie activity for many reasons apart from combat logging. -
How to melee with M4A1 Bayonet attachment?
James MacDonald replied to Casual007's topic in General Discussion
I've read that the use of the bayonet is not yet implemented. -
Am I doing this right? Hearing Z's but not seeing anything?
James MacDonald replied to thegreattriscuit's topic in New Player Discussion
Its the ambient animal life that is using the zombie noises, so whenever you're close to an animal you will be getting these noises. Better look around anyway tho, you shouldn't ignore it : p One day you might end up dead if you do. -

James MacDonald replied to Indickua's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, unable to log out within 1-20 meters from another player should fix them logging before you're able to restrain them. Unless you're yelling at them from afar of course. -
How can we make a players life more important than his gear?
James MacDonald replied to knawx's topic in General Discussion
I don't like the traits part of it, it should never be implemented, and I sincerely hope it never will be. The beards and braids if possible, would be an awesome thing tho (or something similar, which gives no real advantage over others). The one about dying hurting your humanity I don't really think is a good idea, its just gonna make it even harder to be a hero once they add the bandit/hero skins or whatever back in. It's just gonna make even more people take the easier path, which is being a bandit. -
Everybody wants EndGame Material!
James MacDonald replied to lucidr34ms's topic in General Discussion
If this game turns into Left 4 Dead with the zombie types, it will lose all its appeal to me and I will most likely quit. However, if by zombie types you mean some are running, some are slow, and some are crawling. That could be cool. -
Feature to really help combat logging.
James MacDonald replied to Indickua's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, I understood where you were going with it. Luckily it will no longer be possible to just disconnect out of captivity, so no indicators of any kind should be needed. Their corpse will be there for you to loot free of repercussions, as if they committed suicide. -

James MacDonald replied to Indickua's topic in General Discussion
It does fix the problem he was describing which was players disconnecting during captivity. As for the combat logging in general, rocket has said that they have a solution for it which has yet to be implemented. The idea of glowing in the dark trying to log out will never happen, and should never happen. -

This is already being fixed in the next update within the next hours. Quote from link below: " - Design: players who disconnect when restrained will die " http://pastebin.com/UTnvWGbc
