I believe you are in the wrong forum for this question, although I'm sure one of the Mod vets around here could help you, but this is the DayZ Stand Alone forum, not the DayZ Mod forum.

Even when you're low on blood... it's still very majestic

Quick question... Any chance that the day night cycle will be changed? Now before you jump all over me, let me explain. I live in the US, just outside of Chicago. Prime playing time for people here (basically I'm referring to me and my friends) is anywhere between 4:00PM CST and 12:00AM CST. Every time we log onto an IL (Illinois) based server it is the middle of the night in-game, pitch black, complete and total darkness, even if we log in 4:00PM when it's actually still light outside IRL. We have tried 20+ servers and it's the same on all of them, dark as f**k. I have played this game every day since it was released on Steam. I personally have logged 35 hours already and of that 35 hours I have managed to get maybe, maybe, 2 or 3 hours of actually playing when it's light out in-game. I / we collectively feel like the game is 100% more enjoyable when playing it during the daylight hours in-game. Once it gets dark the game just feels like a completely new game and one that is nowhere near as enjoyable. Does anyone else feel this way, or are we the only ones? -Keg-

+1 I like this idea... and if my memory servers me correct, I believe I have heard the sounds of horses in the game already.

You shot them, and then you don't have to deal with it... lol

no problem :)

Whats with this Shoot on sight mentality?
Kegaro replied to CowJustice's topic in New Player Discussion
I would be perfectly happy if I didn't have to KoS, but to often the other guy has malicious plans for your encounter. If you don't KoS other players, I would guess that 85% to 95% of them would beat you over the head as soon as you turned your back to them. Very first day I was playing I ran across a guy on the coast... I was in all starter gear except for a motorcycle helmet I happened to find. I stop and waved (F1), he waved back, and we both went our separate ways. Sure enough at the next car I stopped at to look through, I started getting hit in the back, as I turned to face my attacker... it was the same guy I had just waved to not 30 seconds earlier. So now I just say to myself, "Better To Be Safe Then Sorry" as I'm pulling the trigger. -
I just found one about an hour ago in one of the garages (the row of 4 connected garages) on the south end of Zeleno. Yesterday I had 2 of them... that is until I got beat over the head with a fireman's axe... lol

I had the same thing happen to me. I just relogged and it fixed it.

I downloaded the blood from a friend - was killed instantly

That's probably because they are logging out so that you can't loot their bodies. -
Also if you find a part of the map and you view it. There is an option there to look at the current player list as well.

Whenever I run across them they always seem to be inside what I believe to be school houses. I have found 4 of them since I started playing and 3 of them were in schools houses, usually on the first floor. I also noticed that if you have 2 rifles... one in your hands and one on your back... when you log off of a server you lose whichever rifle you are currently carrying in your hands.

when will be able to hide weapons to backpack
Kegaro replied to [email protected]'s topic in New Player Discussion
I like the idea of breaking a weapon down into components so you can fit it into a pack, as long as that weapon has that capability. Like an M4 you could easily fit into a pack after it is dismantled, a Mosin on the other hand... not so much. -
I do the same thing... I look for whatever clothing helps me blend in to my surroundings. Therefore I tend to go for items like the hunters camo pants, the NTSO (or whatever it's called) camo jacket, a brown hunters pack, or a green 35 slot pack. It's not that we are trying to play "military dress-up" or fulfill our "militaristic wet-dreams" as so eloquently posted previously. It's just a fact that when you have a bunch of camo gear on because you are trying to blend in to your surroundings, you will have a military look about you.

Is it possible to carry both the M4 and the Mosin?
Kegaro replied to overdosed (DayZ)'s topic in New Player Discussion
I left two Mosin's (two different locations) on the ground earlier today as I couldn't figure out how to carry more than my M4, and I didn't want to drop that. But this is good info to have for the next time I run across one. -
Underbarrel flashlights, how do they work?
Kegaro replied to Pandema's topic in New Player Discussion
^^ What he said ^^ You need the right hand guard that allows you to attach it. -
Is "Well Fed" the same as "My stomach feels full"? Because I got to that after eating 5 cans of beans, 4 cans of spaghetti, and 1 can of tuna, but I ate them all within 5 minutes.
-
I found on in the military base South East of Vybor... don't know how to use it... haven't put a battery in either... but I have one none the less... lol
-
If you have a screw driver, put it in your hand first, then drag it over the can and it will give you and option to open the can. Sorry for the late reply... had to go X-Mas shopping... lol
-
I don't think all of the items intended to be usable are at this time... but I can confirm a screwdriver works wonderfully. :)
-
I found a rock earlier today... maybe that's what they were talking about when they said a hard surface? P.S. There are images of people wearing the PayDay masks all over the forum, so that was confirmed some time ago. :)

Try having the pen in your hand and then dragging it onto the paper.
-
Yea, it takes a bit depending on your current state of health. I was trying to get my hunger to the point where it gives you the "my stomach feels full" message... took me 5 cans of beans, 4 cans of spaghetti, and 1 can of tuna... all opened with a screwdriver, so none of them were 100% full.

I've had an ACOG and red dot sight as well as a secondary iron sight.

Don't know about the map question, but to sit and relax is F3.
