this game isnt meant to be played its meant to be tested so sure, whats in place now is kind of bad but its also probably going to change honestly ive stopped playing the stand alone because there is literally nothing to do but gear up and die, and i dont feel like actually 'testing' the game -
there isnt a meta game if you dont pry around on the internet and learn about it jesus why dont people just play the game?? dropping your pack to go into a city fast is common sense right?

I really hope this game gets to the point where I know we all want it to go. Where there are seasons, and survival against the elements is more than what it is now.... I know all of this will come in time, but I just saw this picture and I really hope this is what DayZ becomes

this isnt a fast paced first person shooter people dont go running around the corners in cities guns drawn sounds to me like the combat in dayz is not the right combat for you do you think in real wars people run around like idiots in urban areas shooting non-stop?

thats the debug land its where your character spawns right before you are put back where you logged out at, or atleast that is what used to happen in the mod dont try to find the end of it because you wont, it goes on for forever

its not being killed that gets me, its having zero interaction with other people that makes me angry i would have no problem if someone handcuffed me and executed me but being shot in the back while you have an axe out just isnt fun -
today i was running down the coast toward rift when i hear some noise behind me i looked back and saw an unarmed dude who sounded like he was speaking chinese he then turned on gangnam style and we both wiggled and danced to our hearts content i love this game

NOTE: SUICIDING FOR A BETTER SPAWN POINT IS NOT THE MAIN TOPIC OF THIS THREAD, THE MAIN POINT IS THAT FRESH SPAWNS, WITH THE ADDITION OF FISTS AS WEAPONS FOR ALL TO HAVE, HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE FROM SUICIDING INTO ARMED PEOPLE, OR ANY PEOPLE FOR THAT MATTER. THIS IS UNREALISTIC, AND IN A GAME THAT STRESSES REALISM AND IMMERSION, SOMETHING LIKE THIS NEEDS TO BE STOPPED as of right now, new/fresh spawns have literally no incentive to live, and because everyone in the game is now armed with fists encounters with geared players usually end in a suicide rush to try to one-hit-K.O. the geared player. now obviously in real life stuff like this would not happen, and that is why i feel this should be changed. one way i thought of was a respawn timer. it could be 10, 15, or even 30 minutes long, decreasing the longer you stay alive, reaching zero after a certain point. this would also help curb the "suicide for a better spawn" additude, and encourage exploring areas of the map that arent balota or cherno. for example say the respawn timer is 30 minutes, being that if you jump off a rock minutes after spawning, you would have to wait 30 minutes before you could respawn and play again. after a predetermined amount of time, lets say 30 minutes also, the respawn timer would no longer be in effect, in that dying would not force you to wait 30 minutes. after the 30 minutes spent alive, the gear that would be acquired, in my opinion, would then provide incentive to continue living. i can already see some people saying "well what if people camp spawns and troll people into waiting 30 (or however long, if at all) minutes to respawn" but there are a number of things that can aid in this. more dynamic spawns would probably see a huge decrease in spawn killing, because the spawns would not be static. another could be if the new spawn was not the one who initiated combat. also once again i would like to stress that 30 minutes is not what im trying to argue is right, just an example. i would love to see other peoples thoughts on what to do about suiciding new spawns -

what im trying to say to all of this is that in reality, people dont suicide. in a game that is trying to be super realistic, there needs to be something, anything put in to make fresh spawns not suicide, because this doesnt happen in real life. people dont suicide into geared players for a chance at their gear. if you think a spawn timer is a terrible idea then please, tell me what is a better idea, that is why i created this thread -

this isnt even the problem at hand... im more focused on the fact that new spawns have no incentive to stay alive, and if they see a geared played, they will most likely sprint towards them in a suicide attempt to one-kit-knock out them -
flare gun sounds really really cool i never got to use the flares in the mod :^( m203 rifles werent my type of gun
