Third person view removal from SA discussion
beardedcap replied to lev's topic in General Discussion
I like playing in third person because it's more visually appealing to me. Therefore everyone should be forced to play in third person -
Is that a walkie talkie in the vest? Where the hell did you find that and can you use it? Also where did you find the railed m4 fore end? I've seen all the other variations a shitload but never the rail. I would actually prefer using an old remington 870 or another bolt action rifle for the fun/immersion factor. AR type rifles just get boring and over used eventually

If you don't want to wear the military gear, don't wear it. A tac vest is going to hold more shit than just a flannel shirt, it's just a fact. Same with everything else. If you want to look a certain way just deal with the fact that you can't carry as much in certain items. I feel I have a decent amount of leverage in how I look while carrying a lot of stuff. But as we all know it's an alpha, and I'm sure(and I hope) that there will be much more civilian items added with carrying space. They should just go to REI(or similar outdoor gear store) for inspiration.

Bring back weapon lengths obscuring your movement indoors.
beardedcap replied to Ozelot (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Fuck this whole thread. Isn't the movement clunky enough through doorways now? Sometimes I can't even turn around in a hallway without my weapon impeding me. Hell, sometimes it's hard enough to walk straight through a doorway. Do you people seriously walk through the buildings in this game and go: "gee, I wish it was harder to maneuver in here." There are too many morons on this forum suggesting ideas like this who have no grasp of the constraints of the game engine. You think the developers can just do a little coding for your OMG SO REALISTIC ideas -
I kill anyone who won't stop following me or anyone who is a would be threat(people with good gear). I leave fresh spawns and newbies alone unless they try to grief by punching me.

Adding loot to apartment buildings
beardedcap replied to roadlesstraveled's topic in General Discussion
In the mod those buildings were great for loot. I figured they would be in SA and I wasted a lot of time looking through all the floors, I've been lucky to find a can of beans in them. Now I just skip them and I'm glad because I fucking hate maneuvering through 100 doorways to search all the rooms. -
Oh wow, this thread is such a new and interesting idea.

I think m4s and shit should be somewhat common, but I'd like to see the majority of players using common civilian bolt action rifles and shotguns. Hopefully most people won't be using melee weapons because let's face it, melee in this game is clunky as hell and always will be due to the engine.

I think it's a bug, I've done it a few times trying to find a specific server I was playing in and lost my shit. I think it probably has to do with your character taking a while sometimes to time out of the last server you were in. I'm not really sure exactly what OP is trying to say, his post looks like it was written by a retarded ape.

I know exactly the kind of people you are talking about (90% of DayZ players). Even if they're unarmed they'll keep following me even if I have a firearm. I'll aim at them and they start backing up, then I turn around and they'll come try to punch me or some shit just to be little pricks. I had two guys following me in cherno with axes and I tried to get them to fuck off by aiming at them, they didn't take the hint and I shot one of them in the gut, his buddy sprinted off right after. Also had an asshole chase me with an axe while I was unarmed for like a mile, no shit. I guess people just play the game to piss you off.
-
It is pretty bad, I ran into two assholes up north earlier today and unloaded like 30 rounds into them(I'm sure my aiming wasn't perfect because it was pretty frantic) and hit the mother fucker like once. I've also shot a few zombies with it aiming down the sights and the accuracy is pretty damn bad even standing still. Definitely needs to be changed.
-
I've found a mosin once or twice, but I'm sure there will be more once more weapons(civilian) are added. There are only 4 guns in the game right now(if the .357 is actually spawning) so that's why you aren't seeing many.

Please fuck off

Am i the only one with no performance issues?
beardedcap replied to DMstratz's topic in General Discussion
This, don't know why the fuck rocket didn't just move to the Arma 3 engine before getting this far in development. Anyways: i5-3350p Radeon 280x 8gb ram SSD Game runs pretty well in rural areas with what amounts to medium-low settings, and with some cfg tweaking. In cherno I get like 25 fps -
I had the same thing happen. My character started moaning for a while and I assumed I was infected. Eventually took antibiotics and then the sick indicator showed up but it said my wounds looked cleaner. It seems to be a bug with the indicator itself.
-
Speaking of, has anyone else found Rocket Aviators? I've found them a few times and they're the only sunglasses that don't look too douchy
-
Good idea, not sure if the engine can support terraforming like that. I suppose the hole could just be an op-enable item you can "place."
-
Just because it's in the patchnotes doesn't mean there isn't a problem with the spawns or something. I've yet to see anyone whose found one, and I've only found .357 ammo once. I'd like to see someone with some proof of finding it just to know it's working.
-
I agree, although the helmets(motorcycle) are way too common. Even with the reduced spawn rate.

Why do we already have so many 24/7 daylight servers?
beardedcap replied to Gingerizhere's topic in General Discussion
People probably wouldn't prefer 24/7 day servers so much if the night time was ever fixed. It's still do damn dark, I actually like the idea of playing at night and I enjoy it around dusk/dawn. It's just unrealistically dark and it's way too dangerous having your light on all the time with it's tiny cone revealing yourself. You should only NEED a light inside buildings where you don't have any moonlight -
I've noticed the same thing with charcoal tablets. They make you sick for a while but it goes away. They aren't supposed to make you sick.
-
You can eat far past the point where you get notifications. If your character is full you can go a pretty fair amount of time without needing to eat/drink. Find water pumps, and fill up asap. I also haven't had any problems finding food after dying the first few times and learning where to search. I'm actually very happy with the amount of food/water in the game. Medical supplies are hit or miss, sometimes I've found more medkits and antibiotics than I can carry, others I've been sick for hours searching for antibiotics and never found them.

Ghosting,Loot Farming (server hopping),Combat Logging. Possible Solution.
beardedcap replied to [email protected]'s topic in General Discussion
I think that your solution is way too complicated OP. However I think that a more simple solution would be to have a timer when you click exit to leave the server. I.E. 20 seconds or so. If people alt-f4 they should implement a timeout period where the character is still in that server for 20-30 seconds after they disconnect, it would also disable them from joining a new server in that time. -
This is a ZOMBIE and a SURVIVAL game.
beardedcap replied to Chronos Blackburn's topic in General Discussion
Have you not noticed the massively reduced lag compared to how the mod was? They used to be lagging all over the screen, couldn't run inside, would chase you for miles, see/hear you a mile away. The zombie mechanics are greatly improved, yes they have work to do, but they aren't on the backburner
