I've only heard of Frankie through other twitch streamers and only his name, nothing about what he does. I've also never watched him. That said, I do my best not to shoot on sight (it's happened when startled by a military man turning a corner at me in a remote location). but I don't see how it limits social interaction. I specifically have NEVER shot on sight, including in the mod, for the very reason of promoting social interaction. I am okay being shot down in the current state of the game because I want people to know not everyone is out to kill them, so maybe, JUST MAYBE, they will do this too. I've always valued the character life over loot, which is how it should be. So if someone tells me to put my hands up, I play along sometimes...its fun. Rather than logging or just trying to murder them. Sometimes I hold people up only to ask if they need anything. I would suggest this play style to everyone.

3 New pistols in DayZ Standalone Experimental
Trayt replied to GriefSlicer (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Hey thanks for the video! I haven't had time to play around on this experimental so this is nice to see. I am unfamiliar with this CR-75. It isn't a CZ-75? What is it chambered in? 9mm luger/para or 9mm Makarov or something different? Interesting .22 I hope the sound of that doesn't extend as far to other players and zombies as the other guns. the 1911 im assuming is in .45 and I fail to see the reason they added it in addition to the FNX-45. But looks nice none the less. Thanks again! -
Poll: How many people would survive the apocalypse?
Trayt replied to KarmaCoin's topic in General Discussion
For my answer, I used a slow moving zombie, without an airborne illness that needs to feed on human flesh in order not to rot away, because of this I put 1 billion. In the winter they would pretty much freeze in place, and if there was one zombie to start some how, they would die before they got through a single town. So many possibilities makes this question extremely hard to answer. If you were to think of this like a plague that just happened to drive people mad or what ever, I would say a lot less would survive for the sheer fact that its a plague. -
My opinion: A big No to thermal vision... That L85 was absurd... tons of fun but absurd. For NVG... I'd be okay with having these in there but under a few conditions. ... 1) while on, you have to be in 1st person no "if ands or buts". Turning them on will only work in 1st person and you would have to remain as such. 2) A different style battery to operate them that is very rare and consumed very fast, also the NV goggles/ scopes do not spawn with said battery. 3) Limited range of view, like 100m would be an advantage and still be pretty fair, also it would not be like seeing in the day time, peripheral vision would be darker. 4a) to accurately fire your weapon with NV Goggles, you need an IR laser, as using headset goggles down a scope is pretty damn hard. 4b) OR you could have a NV scope which has the same or similar distance restrictions. 5) Having a lit flashlight pointed at your eyes in close range causes your screen to go black momentarily. I think these restrictions are fair as they can still cause quite an advantage especially in cities yet they are not the be all end all.

Mashing everything in front of you in your vehicle in the mod caused your vehicle to die..very fast... OR (since it was just a mod) you would be driving and static objects on the road wouldn't appear fast enough and you would crash and fly out of your car dead... I'M LOOKIN AT YOU LINGOR. But they arent game breaking, but losing a car hurts worse than any other gear.

Yes please this! I've been wanting this so much. Even once more Zombies are added into a stable build, The forests and fields away from towns become worthless and a lot of times might as well be skipped for most people. HOWEVER this new hunting team added animals such as Wolves and Bear, it would make running through the woods a lot more intense, just like what the cities could be. Also the Russian Boar, as far as I know are large and very dangerous so I hope if we get too close to the boar they charge us and can break our limbs or knock us out!! Also your Idea of Carrion Birds is actually a LOT cooler than Many people may realize! Adding birds that flock over fresh carcasses would be a signal to other players that someone is probably not too far off. It would give a reason to be careful hunting (Birds circle your kill for maybe an hour, I know this is much less than real life but a good clue for in game) or killing other players for when the server disallows hiding bodies! This way you could look to the sky as well as the ground for tracking and signs of activity! Making the skies come alive would make the whole world feel much more alive. I like the idea of Bee's (could collect honey at the risk of your own health unless you make like a smoking torch or something) But it may be rather difficult since there would have to be a lot of them, and I feel this way about snakes too! I'm glad I searched the forums before posting, this deserves to go back to the front page.
